This image from an Associated Press video report shows an aerial view of the scene of Friday’s shooting.

On Friday, Jason Rodriguez, a 40-year-old engineer who had been fired from an Orlando, Fla., construction firm two years ago, went back to his former office and opened fire, killing at least one person and wounding at least five others before fleeing to his mother’s house, where he was tracked down and arrested.  —KA

The Orlando Sentinel:

After the arrest, the suspect was greeted by reporters just outside the police department’s doors.

“Why did you do it?” one television reporter asked.

“Because they left me to rot,” Rodriguez said.

He was asked if he was angry at his employer.

“No. I’m angry,” he said.

Mayor Buddy Dyer confirmed that the victims were all employees of Reynolds, Smith & Hill.

ft—thanks..its “dissonance”—holding two contradictory ideas at the same time, right? LIke, “violence is good, but only in Af-Pak”. or Pakistan.

We train them with
“kill, kill, kill” and reward them, only is its the people we are comfortable with them killing. I guess I was thinking more of the killings at Ft Hood…

No, KDelphi, I don’t think cognitive dissidence, jjust a general inability to think politically and frustration at the failure to be able to do something about it.  Americans can’t generalize their personal social situation politically, since the mainstream American truth consensus miakes simple historical truths subversvive of American power delusions.  And the US historically has legitimaed violence.

I hope you feel better.  It’s miserable being sick.

The Orlando shooter was on psychiatric drugs, a family member, his former mother in law confirmed that he was on psych meds, and that in her opinion they made him paranoid.

Some have also raised the issue that mabye the Fort Hood shooter was on them as well, given the tendency of psychiatrists to self medicate and that he was anxious about deploying to Iraq.

Folk—cognitive dissonance? (or, as Matthews calls it—“cognitive distance”)

Yes, my Peace Studies classes are starting to seem, as Gonzales so disgustingly put it,
“quaint”.

Sorry no more cogent reply. Sick as f*ck.

When no effective political response is permitted, people turn to violence, often senseless violence.  The American people have been disconnected from the Amerian power system, the elections increasingly restricted, meaningless, and rigged. So Americans have begun to run amok.

Educated Americans.  Their Education is inconsistent with their reality.  The tension of the conflict leads to violence.

And right on queue, the mass shootings begin. Oh,
let’s all panic now and pass some more draconian
legislation. Oh dear, oh dear. Never mind that around
a thousand people in the united stated died today
from on-label drug prescriptions. Now get ready for
the big gun-control putsch. It’s tragic that there
were no armed civilians on hand to take care of
themselves and their fellows. I can hear the nanny-
state gears of rhetoric gnashing into action. G.
Anderson is so right. But as with todays THOUSAND
dead from legal, properly prescribed
pharmaceuticals…we will continue to fight the
symptoms instead of the causes. Please folks,
remember that in hospitals and homes around the
nation there was the equivalent doctor-induced mayhem
of HUNDREDS of these shootings. Perspective!

On CNN, they said he had filed a recent Bankrupcy, along with millions of others, who are setting a record for bankrupcy’s.

He listed assests of $4,675 that consisted mostley of a 2002 Nisan XTera or someting along those lines…in need of repairs..

His debts were, $8,5000, and $29,000 in student loans, $11,085 in back child support, and $2,415 in unpaid federal taxes for 2005, and 2006. For a total of $50,915, those debts cannot be discharged in bankrupcy. He listed his total debt as $89,873.51, so about $39,000 dollars was discharged in his bankrucpy.  That means on his $800 dollar a month salary as a Sandwich artist it would have taken him the rest of his natural life, if The Department of Education, and Child support Enforcement, left any of his check once they garnished his wages, took his car away, and suspended his drivers license. There are millions of American’s just as angry, luckily they are not resorting to violence, and the final cost to him is his life.

If he’d done it in Af-Pak to non-white guys, he
would have gotten a bronze star.

Its time for a new website…
How about MassMurderDuJour.com.
Only in America can this sort of violence be tolerated and “enjoyed”.
It is pornography in many countries in the world.
The mercenary army needs wars and the 24 hour news needs blood.
We just don’t get it…
