Where Was Obama When Maine Needed Him?Posted on Nov 4, 2009
Why did voters in Maine reject a law that would have sanctioned same-sex marriage? Well, according to some marriage equality supporters, one big reason currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and another has to do with conservative scare tactics played out via television ad campaigns. —KA

“Stunned and angry” .. that largely describes the movement for homosexual rights…
Wait a minute! .. I’m not anti-gay and don’t care if homosexuals marry or not.. but the deal is very many people do care, seriously.. and it is a divisive issue for them.. whatever side they are on.
Progressives are wasting their energy and focus beating at the barriers (real and imagined) facing homosexuals in America.. and marijuana laws! These things are for progressives what abortion and immigration are to many so-called conservatives.. In both cases these issues are straw-men, occupying so much time and emotion and effort.. when what we need is Social Justice..
When people have jobs that pay living wages, safe food, clean water and breathable air and hope in the future.. then relatively little things like two people of the same sex wanting to get married pretty much solve themselves.
Don’t play the game.. refocus. WAR, MONETARY POLICY, GLOBALIZATION, CLIMATE, JUSTICE FOR ALL.. those are what we should all be about.
Have fun, play nice.

Where was Obama?
He was busy pumping tens of millions into Virginia and New Jersey and showing his face there.

“I came to the conclusion months ago that the man is homophobic.”
“Homophobic” is an oft misused word. It is usually used to describe people who do not agree with the gay agenda of obtaining special privileges for homosexuals.
It helps the user look foolish.
That said, Obama is not against the gay agenda. He does not “hold his nose”. He would have to have some moral or principle or scruple to drive him to do so.
He is not anti gay. He is anti freedom.

“and that’s where the anger should be directed.”
?
By all means, let’s be angry with ourselves. Even if the anger is several months late in coming. Have we learned anything from Obama yet?

What you are saying is nothing other than ultra conservative religious propaganda. It has no basis in fact! Homosexual, gay, same sex marriage or whatever you want to call it has no effect upon heterosexual union. Actually same sex unions might just be beneficial for it allows for far more adoptions and whether a child has two fathers, two mothers, or a single parent better to have any parent than none at all! The old adage that has never lost it’s luster is “Live and let live”——I believe that was the essence of the message of Jesus.

After close to one year in office, Obama now has one goal——-to get re-elected in 2012. Everything he does will be middle of the road. The gays will to wait awhile, health care reform will continue to be muddled, and the two wars will maintain their course to appease the military and right wing. Someday a third party will have political clout, but because of the electoral college system, it will have to take place in the Congress first.

What a pity that half of the populations of both Maine and California are so propagandized that they will believe ridiculous assertions made by people who dragged our society into trillion dollar wars and flushed the economy down the toilet! THAT is the ultimately tragedy in all this! “OOhhhh. ummmm having gay marriage legal in Maine will corrupt our children!” Yeah, well what about your hypocritical, fanciful, absolutist faith in a Hebrew God that is really to blame for corrupting your children? Hmmm? How about you teaching your kids, not to mention beating them to a pulp, that being xenophobic and homophobic towards people are Christian values? Pathetic…I have about had it with some of these particular Americans.
To trouble the sleep of some of the nationalist, bloodthirsty, war-mongering, treasonous, propagandized, “Christian” tea partiers in the USA: The USA does not grant the most rights of any nation on Earth. Far from it. So stop with the ridiculous notion that the USA grants the most mercy in courts and that its government treats all its citizens the most equal when compared to any nation on Earth as these are also falsehoods. I think this article discussing a Maine referendum to enforce inequality is a nice illustration of what I am talking about. Roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of voters (It is important to note that less than half of Americans vote in any given election. Even when the USA society was at its most desperate in several generations, still less than half of the population voted) believe that certain demographics of USA citizens deserve second-class status; yet, said demographics are still obligated to pay taxes, work, follow laws that curtail freedom etc.. Such as the USA “The land of the conditionally free and the home of the slave.”

Obama may have been absent here… but its the voters that decided to not support gay civil rights, and that’s where the anger should be directed.

Where was the Hawaiiah Messiah? I have come to the conclusion that he must sit in the Oval Office all day twiddling his thumbs, playing video games or some such other activity. He doesn’t work. The One is the “hands off” President, the “do nothing” President. He campaigns; he does not govern.

Let’s let some more air out of the Obama balloon. I came to the conclusion months ago that the man is homophobic. He’ll take gays’ money. The rest of the time, however, you’ll find him frowning and holding his nose.
