Tony Blair Isn’t Conservative Enough to Be President of Europe

White House Archive / Paul Morse

Tony Blair, left, with his war buddy, George W. Bush.

The former British prime minister took a hit after France’s Nicolas Sarkozy and Germany’s Angela Merkel agreed over dinner at the Élysée Palace (oh to be a fly on that wall) that the first president of the European Council ought to be more of a right-winger.

Regardless, Silvio Berlusconi of Italy, a conservative, reportedly wants Blair to get the job. Must be all that elbow-rubbing the two did over the Iraq War.

Blair is currently the official envoy of the so-called Middle East Quartet, representing the U.S., U.N., EU and Russia. He’s flown under the radar in that role, taking a back seat to the Obama administration and its efforts to rekindle the peace process.  —PZS

The Guardian:

Sarkozy, the French president, and Merkel, the German chancellor, are understood to have agreed at a dinner at the Elysée Palace last night that the new president should be appointed from the main centre-right EPP grouping, which brings together the parties currently ruling most EU countries.

Brown gave a hint at a press conference that Blair’s candidacy was fading when he qualified his strong backing for his predecessor by stating that there were also other candidates for the job. “Of course it may not happen and there are other candidates as well,” he said.

If Tony Bliar hasn’t managed to die yet, he should at least have the decency to just fade away.

But decency never was part of his routine.

Tony Blair isn’t conservative enough? Tony Blair is a war criminal. How could the EU possibly have Britain’s version of Milosevic heading the organization? Mary Ann McNeely is right- the jackboots would be a nice touch. Obviously the neo cons haven’t given up on their dream of turning Europe into a clone of America by taking away every socially progressive idea put in place in Europe since the Enlightenment. Blair is a neo con stooge and was on board with the whole disaster unleashed on the world by the neo cons from the start. There’s a reason Benjamin Netanyahuu and Rudi Giuliani were both in London on the morning of the bombings of 7/7/2005. The idea that Blair would stand up for the Palestinians is truly laughable. He has no credibility (and deserves none)and that’s why he’s been sidelined. The only good thing he did was end the British run war in Northern Ireland by letting the Irish vote for peace, but even Hitler built the Autobahns and ended unemployment.

What Blair needs is a makeover.  Some enormously expensive “consultant” should be hired to advise him to grow a toothbrush moustache, wear an olive green military tunic and a Sam Brown belt.  Possibly some jackboots.  That should make a positive difference.

> A bit of overload, don’t you think?

No. I don’t.

One can never overload on pointing out the dangers of a psychopath. Perhaps one should always go to excess in pointing out such a danger.

We might have avoided much of the last eight years were it not for the spineless bought off curs of the US and UK MSM.

Should we believe that a non-psychopath can carry out policies that are psychopathic?

Blair didn’t get the job because he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Europe and the Europeans know it. Blair lies when he opens his mouth and should be indicted for war crimes – together with Bush and the whole neocon gang. In his current job as Middle East Mediator or whatever the title is, he is a nonentity, because he would have to actually fight for the weak, downtrodden and poor Palestinians. And God forbid, oppose the Zionists! That is not Blair’s forte and interest. He is a political hypocrite, morally and ethically empty – a true modern moron.

A bit of overload, don’t you think?

Who, in their right mind, would want Bush’s poodle as
president of the EU? I rest my case.

THE OTHER VIEW OF TONY BLAIR

A or B?

A. One suggestion is that Tony Blair is a war criminal and needs a long drop on a short rope - a fitting end for all war criminals who have caused the deaths of 1.4m Iraqis and who knows how many tens of thousands of Afghans.

B. Eamonn McCann in Counterpunch has another view.

‘NUREMBERG TONY’ Contd

MORE RIGHT WING THAN MARGARET THATCHER
Tony Blair is to the right of Margaret Thatcher. When the Iron Lady was asked for her greatest achievement, she is apocryphally said to have replied “New Labour and Tony Blair.” Today we can see why; the now-failed neo-liberal economic polices of Milton Friedman continued seamlessly under Blair, succeeding Thatcher.

Which policies are the reason that ‘Britain is finished’ according to Jim Rogers, with their oil running out and none of the revenue preserved. It was all spent on current expenses. That, and the city having gone ‘kaput’. - Jim Rogers - UK finished -

Unlike Norway, in Michael Moore’s Sicko outtake, who kept the capital for future generations. How wise they were - Sicko - Michael Moore -

‘NEW LABOUR ARE CONSERVATIVES’
John Pilger - “(New) Labour are conservatives in my country,” in an interview with ‘Bonkers’ Bolton, the US insane right-winger. He certainly showed his true colours, to John Pilger - Bigotry combined with pathetic ignorance and even worse prejudice @6:10 “Are you a Labour Party member? John Pilger - “(New) Labour are conservatives.” Bonkers - “Are you a communist?” -

‘NUREMBERG TONY’

TONY BLAIR AND TORTURE
Craig Murray - UK / USA use of Uzbek torture -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNYES8KOIqY

This single video may well be _the_ impetus for the war crimes trial of Tony Blair.

Craig Murray is an excellent speaker - funny, pointed and pithy. The video is _stunning_.

A devastatingly frank description of US / UK rendition, flying in non-Uzbek US / UK prisoners for torture and life—and more death—in the totalitarian hell that is Uzbekistan. Craig Murray explains how the Foreign Office, under Prime Minister Tony Blair, went along with UK/USA use of Uzbek torture, even going so far as to have some Mickey-Mouse lawyers okay the use of said torture - which, we may remember, included the boiling alive of prisoners.

BOILED ALIVE - FOR BRITAIN?
Uzbekistan the country where muslims are boiled to death. Picture - just like the rest of Tony Blair’s handiwork - the corpse of the Uzbek muslim that was boiled alive - your tax dollars at work—Warning - disturbing -

TONY BLAIR AND MURDER
Dr. Kelly. Three eminent British doctors have denounced the autopsy finding as not being physically possible. Blair’s press secretary, Alistair Darling, was overheard on a plane by journalists, to tell the shook Prime Minister - who had just learned of Dr. Kelly’s so-called ‘suicide’ - to “Play the game Tony.” and that “‘It’ was what he had wanted.” (Kelly’s murder?).

Did Our Tony ask ‘Who will rid me of this turbulent Doctor?’ And did ‘someone’ oblige? Increment-ally? (MI-6’s assassination unit being known as The Increment in some fiction).

JOHN LE CARRE
Q. Why is there a war on terror?
A. “Because the US has not learned how to hold itself together without an external enemy.”

“Margaret Thatcher, whose influence on my country I detest. We dignified greed and materialism. A dignification much extended by Blair.” @ 4.50
“We in old Europe know about war and we don’t want anymore war. We hate war. The United States, alas, has still to interpret politics in military terms and that’s a catastrophe.” @6.00
“Merkel, now advancing cautiously towards the US. The appalling pressure the United States is exerting on European liberalism, forcing us to accept these black prisons and to ship prisoners for torture to countries that we wouldn’t entertain in the woodshed.” (Huh? Ed.) @6.20

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eukzmGPDHJE#t=04m50s

“These days it’s very hard to buy, or to read, uninfluenced, unbought, opinion. Whether in the press, in politics, on radio, on television. Increasingly people are afraid of offending against the corporate or the collective voice.” Which doesn’t even start to consider the (im)pure propaganda organs - like Asia Times(?). - Part 3 - @ 7.15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eukzmGPDHJE#t=07m15s

WAR CRIMINAL
Tony Blair is a war criminal. His crimes include Aggression - the supreme war crime, illegal war, crimes against the laws of war, genocide, murder and torture.

The only thing that he should have to look forward to is a long drop on a short rope. Happily he is now facing a much more uncertain future than the US Neocons.—Britain is a signatory to war crimes legislation the US thought it wiser not to sign.

Just like some other genocidal murderers from history - Nuremberg Executions of Nazi Leaders for ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ and ‘Crimes Against the Laws of War -
