Pope Makes Room for Anglicans in Catholic Church

It’s been nearly 500 years since King Henry VIII split with the Vatican and formed the Church of England, and now Pope Benedict XVI has given Anglicans a way to come back to the Catholic fold while keeping some of their own traditions. The pope’s gesture at this particular moment is significant in that some Anglicans are upset about their church’s inclusion of gay clergy members and women priests.  —KA

Reuters:

It said the decision was taken to respond “to the many requests that have been submitted to the Holy See from groups of Anglican clergy and faithful in different parts of the world who wish to enter into full visible communion.”

The most prominent recent Anglican convert to Catholicism was former British prime minister Tony Blair, who joined after leaving office in 2007.

every group of people have their problems, calling the catholic church a pedophile mafia is ubsurd. what about the boy scouts..or even teachers who are with our kids everyday…i think it is time for people to face the fact we are all sinners and need a savior in the eyes of our God. all the finger pointers need to look at themselves first. if this were to happen most of societies problems would start to diminish.

This is so ridiculous that made me laugh. Why would the pope think that anyone would want to join under his umbrella? I mean really, the biggest group of pedophiles on this planet allowing gays and women priests to join their mafia? What a joke!
I have a message for the Pope - just make yourself as invisible as possible. As far as I am concerned any organization that has committed the crimes they have here in Canada would have already been shut down and banned. Being the Roman Catholic church the march goes on and people keep bowing at him!! What a total farse this all is.

That is a bold move but I still think they just let priests get married.

The Episcopalian church was always Catholic-lite.
