Poll Puts Clinton Over Obama

Clinton and Obama

Clinton and Obama at an NAACP event last year.

While the presidential election is three years out, Barack Obama might have to look over his shoulder as his slipping popularity now ranks him behind Hillary Clinton: A new Gallup Poll shows Obama’s favorable rating at 56 percent and Clinton’s at 62 percent.

But, at least as of earlier this week, Clinton said she won’t run for president again.  —JCL

Newsday:

Barack Obama may have prevailed over Hillary Rodham Clinton in the presidential primaries last year, but a new poll shows that Clinton is currently more popular than the president.

The Gallup poll conducted Oct. 1-4 shows Clinton’s favorable ratings at 62 percent, and Obama’s at 56 percent.

Gallup said the juxtaposition is due more to Obama’s declining popularity than any rise in Clinton’s favorable numbers, which have changed little since January. Then, 78 percent saw Obama favorably, compared to 65 percent for Clinton.

Clinton, now Obama’s secretary of state, is a former Democratic U.S. senator from New York.

Clinton has already said that she does not want to run in 2012.  Also, her popularity rating is for her position as the Sec of State and President Obama’s rating is for the position of the POTUS.  So how can you compare the two?  Although, Hilary does not have big shoes to fill after four years of Condo-leezza Rice.  As a matter of fact, Pres. Obama does not have big shoes to fill either.  Pres. Obama feet are actually to big to fit his predecessor very small shoes, especially when it comes to foreign relations.  The only one who has big shoes to fill is VP Biden and hopefully the VP will not run the country like the last VP did.

I voted for Cynthia McKinney in Nov. 2008.  I voted for
Ross Perot in 1992, can’t remember who in 1996, Ralph
Nader in 2000, and John Kerry in 2004.  I’ll be damned
if I’ll vote for that aging witch Hellary Clinton or
any DLC, corporate-friendly democrat.  Nor will I
listen to any racist hiding behind a liberal or
progressive veneer.  It’s 2009, no more BS.

The democrats made a big mistake choosing Obama. Hurray for the Clintonians.
Obama is a one term President.

Clinton was against forcing people to buy insurance and
would have fought seriously for a public option in
health insurance reform instead of playing both sides.
I think democrats made a mistake in choosing Obama.
