Is this in his contract (or hers, for that matter)?: Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi checks out Miss Italy, Miriam Leone, during a TV appearance in September 2008.

It’s not clear whether the editors of Newsweek believe they hold any diplomatic power, but they’ve gone ahead and told Italy to “dump” its scandal magnet of a prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, in the magazine’s European edition this week. Let’s see whether Time can top this. —KA

AFP:

The title plastered across the magazine’s cover was accompanied by a picture of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi ostensibly bowing out and waving good-bye.

“Italy can no longer afford the antics of its playboy in chief,” the magazine writes in its European edition dated October 19, in a three-page article which lists the sex scandals said to involve the Italian leader.

“One thinks of Nero, or the Borgias, of bread and circuses, debauchery and corruption,” the magazine intones, adding “Berlusconi plans to hold on—and he might just succeed.

I don’t like him, buth a understand him, he is no hypocrite, its la Dolce Vita, so you think you live for ever he.

In the US everything is kept under the carpet, but their allways comes a moment, that the cesspool has to be opened, and than lots of people fall from their socle, or if you have enough money like the late Kennedy, you are still a hero.

To Glider -
Its all over the European press.  His wife is divorcing him,  he’s been caught with
prostitutes and an 18 year old aspiring actress whose 18th birthday party he
attended.  In addition he put forward the idea that Italy nominate beautiful Italian
models and actresses to the European parliament (I’m not making this up). He
can’t get the ladies off his mind.

Announcing her divorce from her husband Silvio, his wife said “he didn’t attend
our daughter’s birthday party when she turned 18”.

I personally do not know anything about Berlusconi other than Truthdig seems to be targeting him for Clinton type personal behavior instead of putting substantive issues in the forefront.  OK the man likes beautiful women and most of us do a better job at hiding that common affliction.  So do you have anything against the man other than it offends Chris Hedges “Christian sensibilities” or so called “decency” requirements?  Why are you subjecting your readers to this “People Magazine” sensationalistic garbage in TruthDig?  Please get some higher journalistic standards!
