Men with a plan?: NATO head Anders Fogh Rasmussen presses the flesh with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday.

President Barack Obama is under major pressure to sort out the future U.S. commitment and plan of action in Afghanistan, and thus his work was cut out for him during his huddle Tuesday with NATO leader Anders Fogh Rasmussen.  —KA

AFP via Google News:

“This is not a American battle, this is a NATO mission as well,” Obama said as he welcomed the alliance’s secretary general to the Oval Office, at a time of mounting political pressure over future war strategy.

“We both agree that it is absolutely critical that we are successful in dismantling, disrupting, destroying the Al-Qaeda network,” he said, also citing the need to work with the Afghan government to provide security.

“We are working actively and diligently to consult with NATO at every step of the way.”

Obama is facing fateful decisions on Afghan strategy as he digests a report by US commander General Stanley McChrystal which warned the war could be lost within a year without more troops.

NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen is a war criminal because of the illegal invasion of Iraq. The invasion and occupation of Afghanistan is illegal and insane as well. Anders Fogh Rasmussen should be in prison for war crimes.

In my eyes Nato is the US equivalent of the French Foreign Legion. The difference is that the French had to cover the costs of their Legion Etrangere while the non-thinking Nato vassals pay their own way.How cleverly the US military manipulates the gullible “old” Europeans.
The sooner NATO bites the dust the better. Why should Europe bleed for the misdeeds of the US?

Most likely this is political theater used for excalating the war.  And explained in inspitirng bullshit as a ‘compromise.’  And the prog media will go along with it.
