Obama Met With Health Execs and LobbyistsPosted on Jul 22, 2009
From AP: “President Barack Obama’s administration began holding private meetings with health industry executives at the White House a few weeks after he took office, a visitor list released Wednesday night by the White House shows.” The White House released the list in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. However benign the gatherings might have been, the words “private meetings with industry executives” draw an uncomfortable parallel to previous administrations.

I hate what W. did to this nation. Like the holocaust where people look back and say ‘how could we let this happen?’ the same held true with Bush. I lived with 8 years of pure disgust at every turn of his administration’s actions. Cheney, too. Evil men. Then Obama came along. Wow! At least you can sit and listen to someone speak intelligently and not be distracted by a 2nd grade grammer mistake. All that aside, the wave of hope grabbed hold of me and finally a ray of optimissim was shining through. But he was still a democrat. I’ve voted faithfully down party lines 90% of the time because I’m a middle-class blue-collar citizen. I was also a Reagan democrat who bought into the myth of trickle-down, take off the restraints, let me be an un-regulated entrepenuer and I’ll make sure you get a piece of the pie idealistic LIE! I would love for a viable 3rd party system to take hold someday. So I vote for my own self interest. And someone who is electable. I cringe to think my vote was wasted. Point is, Dems have to be watched too. They are put into place the same way ALL politicians are. By money. Lobbyists and special interests AND MONEY! So our job as concerned citizens should be to watch with close scrutiny even the powers that we are faithful to and hold them accountable. Even more so than our adversaries. You hit it on the head jjohnjj, ‘keep your friends close but your enemies closer’ I want Obama to succeed more than anything I’ve ever wanted in my life. But I, like every other supporter, should not support with blindness. Keep him accountable and question why. Find out the truth and the facts on these issues and let the fundamentalists branish their creed. Be Real.

Is this your tax dollars at work?. Your government whom you elected to represent you, and you can’t even ask them anything at all?It took a FOIA request for them to comply? Are there any threats at play here.?(like the governator of Ca wielding a menacing long knife, reminiscent of ” the night of long knife” not long ago)

Report thisWhat cave have you been hibernating in?
The insurance lobby is spending 1.5 million a day to get their message across Big Pharma spent 40 million in the past two months, to see that the health bill will protecting their interests. Yet no will meet with a single payer representative? There are currently more paid lobbyists working for the insurers and drug companies then there are representatives in Washington! Don’t you think the access to the President is hum?? Slightly unbalanced?

The Clintons tried to go around the Insurance Cartel and their reform program was stopped dead in it’s tracks.
The industry is just as powerful now as it was then, if not more.
I would be concerned if PBO were NOT meeting with these financial barons. I believe the old adage is: “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer”.
Politics is a chess game, not an arm-wrestling match.

The visitors mentioned are “important” people in health care. We couldn’t get anything done without them, BUT ... the obvious question is: Who is NOT included, and why? No mention of emergency room surgeons, doctors who regularly give samples to their patients who can’t afford prescriptions, people who take in and try to care for sick indigents left on the sidewalk in fromt of L.A. downtown Mission, people who have hocked everything they own to pay for treatment for their son’s dialysis, and on and on and on. Why are those people not important? Till that question is answered, there will be no adequate health care for all.

ODE TO OBAMAGEDDON
During the campaign many of us were blinded by the illusion of hope
Post inauguration we watched shocked & dismayed as this TROJAN HORSE slid down the slippery slope
Dark clouds covered the banana moon as the trap door opened & out came the Bush swarm
Primed & eager to prey, plunder, deceive & misinform
Obama’s relentless PR campaign stressed the family’s charms
Many citizens were too transfixed to sound the alarms
One even came forward & professed love for Michelle’s arms
Despite all the deception & obfuscation his ratings haven’t suffered
As main stream media keeps the news carefully filtered & buffered
Persuing cabal business while using his family as a diversion
He also used the Bo Obama distraction to expedite his subversion
Obama is moving quickly forward with his hidden agenda
After all, he’s the great pretender
Obama swiftly escalated the wars in Afghanistan & Pakistan
And gave $trillions to the banksters faster than anyone can
Obama gave carte blanche to the FED pretending it would improve financial regulation
The reality is that it cleared the way for the final destruction of our nation
The FED is an integral part of the largest private criminal cartel in the world,
With arrogance & impunity the FED sent trillions of dollars to it’s European cabal members
faster than the merry-go-round whirled
Despite Obama’s health care rhetoric & sham arm twisting, it’s just a gimmick
The new plan should be no surprise when compared to the old finger prick
Even Obama’s personal Dr. from 1987 until his annointment
When asked what he thought of Obama’s health bill expressed great disappointment
MIPIC:MEDICAL INSURANCE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX has already written the “HEALTH CARE BILL”
Report thisJust as Exxon , KING COAL & Philip Morris wrote their respective energy & tobacco laws guaranteed to fill the till.

lester333 hit the nail on the head with “placebo.” As voters we need to recognize the difference between reform and lipstick on a pig. Can we do a better job at convincing our elected representatives than Obama can?

How much would PNHP have to pay for an audience with the Leader of our Homeland?

A government plan that’s 40 percent cheaper would cost around $286 per month per family—a $190 discount from private Health Ins. The government plan, though, wouldn’t exclude us for preexisting conditions. It wouldn’t randomly deny us coverage. It wouldn’t conspire to cancel our coverage as soon as we got sick. It wouldn’t jack up our premium for no reason. And we could take it with us wherever we go.
However, the public option would function similarly to Medicare which carries a $96 monthly premium per person for a married couple making less than $170,000 a year. There’s a $135 deductible and a 20 percent co-insurance. (Incidentally, the absolute most expensive Medicare premium is $308 per person—paid by couples earning a massive $500,000 a year.)
But the public option isn’t just about the low premium, it’s about the security. It’s about knowing that you’re paying into a system that will always be there.
No matter how the Republicans, Blue Dogs and the establishment media try to come at this thing, they’re only really left with arguments that are easily shot down, arguments that inadvertently endorse the most positive aspects of healthcare reform, or arguments that are just insane.

Disgusting. Michelle the fashion star. Children in special schools. Obama the Bushman. Obama is nothing but a “placebo” for health care. What an outrageous individual. Power has eaten him up and it took only short while. Tragic. Pathetic.

Yes, all the lobbyists are present and accounted for. What is missing are the Peoples Representatives - And I am not talking about elected Representatives.
Over and over again, the People openly advocate Single Payer Health Care. Over and over again we are blatantly ignored.
Not enough money in one pocket I assume. God knows we pay plenty in the aggregate!

It took a Freedom Of Information Act request to lift this much of the veil. But it’s nothin’ anybody couldn’t have figured out for themselves. This administration is bought and paid for, and we know who wrote the checks…..
