South Korean protesters carry a mock North Korean missile during a rally denouncing Pyongyang’s nuclear program in Seoul on Thursday.

In the latest North Korean madness, the communist country has declared it would respond to any attack by the U.S. with a nuclear “fire shower” and said it would increase its nuclear arsenal. The statement came on Thursday, the day after President Obama warned of the “unusual and extraordinary threat” that Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program poses to the U.S.

The Guardian:

North Korea today threatened to retaliate with a nuclear “fire shower” if it is attacked by the US and warned it would expand its nuclear arsenal, a month after it carried out a controlled nuclear explosion in defiance of the UN security council.

The regime used the 59th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean war to step up its threats against the US, whose navy is tracking a North Korean vessel off the Chinese coast that is suspected of carrying weapons.

Earlier this month the UN banned all weapons exports from North Korea in response to the May 25 nuclear test, its second in three years.

Actually I really don’t understand the big deal.  So what if NKorea has nuclear weapons?  Why is it the USA’s business what NKorea does?  Or does the USA want a foothold in SKorea too?  A neat little springboard from which it can threaten even more countries in the world?

It would do a lot more for “The War on Terror” (TM) if American soldiers buggered off home out of the tens (if not hundreds) of countries in which they are currently stationed.

If, and I say if we attacked N.K. first, which I seriously doubt, we would have to make certain to give them everything we have got. If done right the first time, there should be nothing left for N.K. to expand their arsenal with. Therefore there is nothing to worry about.

Time to quit wasting time on never ending wars. Finish it and be done with it already. This is for every war.

The military-industrial complex in this country is probably over joyed at the immature and silly posturing of a dillusional dictator. He is clearly over playing his hand and may if our more aggressive leaders have their way feel the full consequences of his diluded threats.

Deluded they may be, but the most clearly threatened nation is South Korea, which as they are not isolated would feel deadly consequences to any military action taken against North Korea.

After 8 years of a mad man and a devil in the white house we should well sympathize with the people of North and South Korea. The governments of Europe at the start of WWI were probably a more thoughtful and balanced group than the leadership in North Korea, but they over played their hand and we can well remember the tragedy that followed and its second installment referred to appropriatly as WWII.

It’s all talk. The Chinese would blow these fuckers to kingdom come if they try anything stupid. Let them rot in their poverty stricken foolishness. The slaves WILL revolt soon enough and regime change will be forth-coming. Wanna Bet?.......

Propagandize much?

“In the latest North Korean madness, the communist country has declared it would respond to any attack by the U.S. with a nuclear “fire shower” ...”

It’s madness to state you have a nuclear deterrent to aggression?  That’s been official US policy for half a century.

N.K. with it’s handfull of small atom bombs is the real threat.  But, the USA with 10,000 nukes, including gigantic hydrogen bombs of 200 megatons is not?

When successive US regimes declare “All options are on the table” in threats to Iran and N. Korea?

Does Hillary Clinton’s “all options” position and the Bush 2002 Nuclear Strategy “first strike” document merit the “madness” label?  Or is that simply for little foreigners you wish to demonize?

I come here to see analysis that’s a little more truthful.  I am often disappointed.

North Korea at no time divided the USA into North and South.  Currently the North Koreans do not occupy the Southern USA and the last time I looked out my windows there were no military aiming rockets at any US citizens or North Korean naval attack craft, air forces buzzing overhead ready to drop ordinance.

The DO-NUTS metaphor for USA are nuts absolutely…..............
