“They did things that you would not do against animals let alone to humans,” one of the former Bagram detainees said.

More than two dozen former detainees at the Bagram military base in Afghanistan say they were beaten, deprived of sleep and threatened with dogs while under U.S. supervision there between 2002 and 2008. None of the detainees were ever charged, and some got apologies upon release.

The BBC:

Allegations of abuse and neglect at a US detention facility in Afghanistan have been uncovered by the BBC.

Former detainees have alleged they were beaten, deprived of sleep and threatened with dogs at the Bagram military base.

The BBC interviewed 27 former inmates of Bagram around the country over a period of two months.

The Pentagon has denied the charges and insisted that all inmates in the facility are treated humanely.

The torture was torture by any other name. It is against the law and the fact it probably was exercised on more innocent people than terror participants, should warn us about letting this go without just punishment to the perps—George, Dick and Rummy, and all.

Most of these people were held because Bush/Cheney needed a large prison population of people who are terrorists in order to scare the nation into supporting their lies. That was another kind of torture to keep people who had done nothing in a brutal prison, just because they “horrors” were found living in the homes of their ancestors, in their own countries.

The investigation into who and who was not an enemy combantant and the confusion between people trying to protect their homes from foriegn invasion and those who where terrorists was too long delayed and continues to be mishandled. Shame on us all for tolerating the Bush/Cheney lies and crimes.

US policy under Bush-Obama is morally depraved.  A new article in the New Yorker by Jane Mayer indicate the same people who administered torture under Bush are doing it under Obaama.  And he is appointing others torturers as well.  That is why he is covering up the torture of the Bushites.  He is continuing it under a new rhetoric.  But its the same line. “The US does not torture.”

I am amazed and flabbergasted that no one seems to believe the Defense Department’s denials. I mean, this is a whole new ball-game, with an almost new line-up. With all these veteran’s of the Bush Administration in charge, how could anyone question their stories of purity of thought and action?

Oh ye of little faith! Hasn’t our newly anointed Great Leader told us it is so?

Can I throw up now?

And the use of this base to hold prisoners with no habeas corpus rights has only expanded under Obama, who made such a big deal about closing Guantanamo (where conditions have also worsened under his watch).

Of course they were tortured; these sick ol boys delight in cruelty and take joy in torture; sicking viscious dogs on prisoners is a specialty of “Rumsfeld” the very “we are a force for good” author to hide their dastardly deeds; and of course they will say differently cuz they will never tell the truth cuz it ain’t in them; mislead, deceive, overcharge using Corps whom they have all given immunity to; weaponing up bullies & tyrants around the globe and telling them to FORCE the PEOPLE to pay more more more; THIS they say is “democracy”; which is why it is the most despised word on the planet;
Exceeding the Nazi’s in their gross sadistic & brutal torture cuz they are bored; the PUBLIC PERCEPTION management is well monitored via the media giving totally & completely FALSE information; the #1 problem country in the world today is the USA; they WANT to start a nuclear war; they have their “underground” facilities to go to; bunkers they are called; same gross scientific experiments going on their as well; and the PEOPLE of the USA do not want to know differently, sadly.
