But this H1N1 virus in causing mild illness anyway- even milder than seasonal flu.

So in my opinion we are being duped and swindled.

The head of WHO- Dr. Margaret Chan -should resign for inciting panic and causing economic and social dislocations in some nations who have over responded to the threat.

The world has been in standby mode for months now, waiting for word the up-coming pandemic is up-coming no more. It has arrived. Of course those who have suffered from flu know how flue can bring suffering. And those who have lost a loved one don’t need to hear from me, but all the same ... isn’t it interesting?

Swiss pharmaceuticals company Novartis AG said Friday, (June 12) it has successfully produced a first batch of swine flu vaccine weeks ahead of expectations. And Thursday, (June 11) the World Health Organization declared swine flu, also known as A(H1N1), a pandemic. But not to worry. WHO says drugmakers will likely have vaccines approved and ready for sale after September. And Novartis said more than 30 governments have requested vaccine supplies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service, which placed a $289 million order in May.

Hmmm ...

In January 2009 the United States Department of Health & Human Services awarded Novartis a $486 million contract for construction of the first US plant to produce cell-based influenza vaccine. The stated goal of this program is the capability of producing 150,000,000 doses of pandemic vaccine within six months of declaring a flu pandemic.

Oh, did I mention the Novartis vaccine was made in cells, rather than grown in eggs as is usually the case with vaccines?

Bingo!

Folks we are doing everything backwards. Seems to me if we want to recover from the meltdown our financial and Congressional elders have blessed us with, first we need to find (or create) a major problem. Then we need to lobby Congress for money to find a solution to that major problem, then we need to take that money and create a solution that can be sold for profit.

Novartis AG (NYSE: NVS) took a nose-dive on March 9, 2009, to 35.65, but began a gradual climb closing at 40.29 yesterday. For all those non-producers looking for another investment yielding positive returns, that’s a good thing, right?

Well yeh ... but I wonder. Does this whole “success” story hinge on that United States Department of Health & Human Services $486 million contract awarded to Novartis? And, does that have anything to do with the World Health Organization elevating the Influenza pandemic to phase 6? Or is it the other way around? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Or in this case the swine or the cell? We all know voters scream like stuck pigs (no pun intended) when it comes to using tax funded government money to save banks, real estate corporations, insurance corporations, mortgage providers and car manufacturers, but would the pigs squeel as loud if they understood what appears to be a circuitess route to profit from tax dollars awarded to big pharma?

Seriously folks, how many other for profit, by tax funding, to save the world corporations are out there? And by the way, Novartis really is, way to big to fail. Actually, come to think of it and given our complete dependence on drugs, Novartis, who manufactures most of them cant go away. Unless we give up drugs that is.

Formaldehyde: (Used in vaccines as a tissue fixative) More hazardous than most chemicals in 5 out of 12 ranking systems, on at least 8 federal regulatory lists, ranked as one of the most hazardous. It is not safe at ANY level.

Mercury: (Used in vaccines as a preservative.) Mercury is the second most poisonous element known to man (next to uranium and its derivatives).

Antifreeze: (This is in the polio vaccine.) Classed as “Very Toxic Material”. May lead to kidney, liver, blood and central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Produces reproductive and developmental effects in experimental animals.

The United States government guidelines for the distribution of the vaccine for the H1N1 virus leave out the poorest and most vulnerable of the population.
The cost of the vaccine will make it prohibitive for everyone to receive the vaccine and the government will
not underwrite the cost for everyone to receive it.
How ‘bout that for, ‘change you can believe in?’
We the poorest of the poor in America, those without health insurance and those on Medicaid and Medicare are not slated to receive the vaccine at all.

Must be nice to see your market grow slowly, its an pandemic now, so the big medical businesses, can start fabricating the injections now, sure to sell them.

We where wondering all the time why they toke not more precousions, specialy with people flying from an to the US and Mexico.
