Abortion Doctor Murdered in Church

The Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kan.

Dr. George Tiller was volunteering at his Kansas church Sunday when a gunman shot him dead. Republicans in Congress recently made a villain of Tiller when they stalled the confirmation of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services.

Tiller, who performed late-term abortions, had made campaign contributions to Sebelius.

BBC:

Dr Tiller, one of the few US doctors who performed so-called late-term abortions, had been vilified by anti-abortionists in the US.

His clinic - called Women’s Health Care Services - had often been the site of demonstrations, and he had been shot and wounded by an assailant 16 years ago.

Dr Tiller’s lawyer, Dan Monnat, said he was killed while serving as an usher during a morning church service. His wife was in the choir at the time.

I hope the man who (premeditated 1st degree MURDER) MURDERED this doctor serves the rest of his life in a maximum security prison isolated in a 4x8 cell and is condemned to hell when he finally dies.

The sickest part about it he was gunned down during a church service, his wife along with friends were watching.

What did he do to deserve this? NOTHING. This doctor, husband, grandfather, father, friend, uncle, etc., etc. was simply doing his job: to serve the women in this country of democracy where we SHOULD have the freedom to chose how we handle our PERSONAL issues and not be hated on for it. Let me say it again. Abortion of any kind is a PERSONAL issue.

I am not a “baby killer” as some of you pro life people call the pro choice group. Me, along with many other pro choice people feel this way because we believe that in this country people should have the right to chose on personal issues, and keep them personal and have a right to privacy when the decision is made. The freedom of choice on religion, political views, speech, culture, and personal issues including abortions are what make this country great. And it should be upheld.

If you think abortion is wrong, simply don’t get one when your pregnant—simple as that. These radicals need to stop hating and killing other people who are just serving the rights of women in this country, stop bombing clinics and putting innocent people in danger. STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING AND LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE AND DON’T PRESSURE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.

I can assure you 100% that the entire church is hurting right now. Especially the ones who witnessed the killing of a person in their congregation. This murderer has hurt sooo many more people than this one doctor. His wife watched the man she fell in love with get shot by a cold blooded monster. Im sorry there is no way to justify a premeditated murder of a person.

AGAIN ALL I CAN SAY IS THESE RADICAL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HATING, STOP DISCRIMINATING AND TAKING AWAY THE PEACE THAT THIS COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE. LEARN TO RESPECT DIFFERENCES AND TOLERATE OTHERS. SERIOUSLY. YOU GUYS ARE A BUNCH OF LOW LIFE HIPPOCRATES.

Wow..some truly amazingly small mindedness on display here..where does one even start..Abu, I assume you are Muslim, or you’re just a right winger posing as a Muslim…which of the Muslim countries stone their women to death for almost any reason they deem necessary? And Abu, I want to be the one that stands before God on judgement day and said I killed not one of HIS creations.  The doctors who perform the abortions, the women who choose to have them, and the hateful Nazis who think it is their place to do God’s work for Him will all have to stand before God on judgement day.  My savior, Jesus Christ, just before he died on the cross, forgave the very ones who had just murdered him, and notbyjingo purports to know how Jesus feels about one of his children being gunned down in a church?  Someone please explain to me how you have worked this twisted logic out in your little pea size brains that it makes sense to you to condemn and murder a doctor who performs these procedures and abortion is murder, but the death penalty is quite alright.
Oh, and in case you have forgotten, there are thousands of unadopted children across this nation that would love to be given a home but someone who puts such a value on life.  But, that’s right..you don’t want to adopt any babies, you just want to tell women what they can or can’t do with THEIR OWN bodies.  You cry and moan about your precious gun rights being threatened ( and I own several), but to hell with the rights of others who think differently than you.  Here’s a tip for you..turn off the hate mongers on the right wing radio you listen to..go outside, take a deep breath of fresh air..if you don’t like the politics in our country then do the grassroots work necessary to elect people that represent your views.  Right wingers complain that Pres. Obama has a veto proof majority and the Dems control both the House and Senate.  Guess what, It hasn’t been but just a few years ago that GW and the GOP had the same advantage, but squandered it trying to kill the man that dared insult his daddy.  Blame yourselves.

“Knowing the difference between right and wrong are the answers, and it seems that today, we can no longer differentiate between right and wrong.”
...........................

Yeah, and one of those who cannot seem to distinguish between right and wrong would be you.

Right, believing abortion is wrong and working to make it illegal.

Wrong, applauding the nut job who murdered the father of four and grandfather of ten.

You have not, I presume, seen any of the case files of the patients receiving late term procedures from this now deceased doctor?

You haven’t a clue as to the medical necessity for that procedure as well. Did the fetus even have a brain stem? Was it at all viable outside the womb? Was the mother’s life in jeopardy? You do not know nor do you care.

No, instead you create a fiction based upon nothing concrete or of any value that, one sunny day, a woman who had a carried a fetus around for five months decides, “well, my clothes no longer fit, my back hurts all the time, and Im bored being pregnant, I think Ill go to Kansas and have that ogre pull the damn thing out of me.”

You are one very silly, or very tormented little fellow sir.

You either believe in the rule of law or the rule of the mob. You apparently have chosen the mob.

Democracy is exactly that…rule of the mob.  Where 51% get a chance to oppress the 49%.  Democracy is not what legalized abortion, it was a Supreme Court decision.

Nazi Germany had many “rules of law”.  So cliches are not the answer.  Knowing the difference between right and wrong are the answers, and it seems that today, we can no longer differentiate between right and wrong.

Next time you come up for air try and understand that you know nothing of the case histories of those who got so-called “late term abortions”, nothing of the viability of the fetus, nothing of the threats to the life of the mother in these few cases that upset you so very much.

I have always pondered the extreme right who love the unborn so much and then advocate nothing but misery for them once they are born.

This guy was worse than Cheney, Hitler, Stalin.  At least they had the justification of killing their “enemies”.  Doctors do not even have that reasoning in their corner.

I have more respect for one of those army guys dropping a bomb on a million innocent people than I have on the American social system of justifying aborting a million innocent babies.

At least the soldier is following orders. What justification do we have of killing babies?

I know in the heads of many of you, you have found justification.  But the reality is that there is none.  (Excluding the occasional rape, incest, and other anomalies that you guys like to use)

I KNOW my mom was proud of her abortion.  She wrote a long letter to the state legislature in the 70’s explaining her position and her support of abortion rights.

With the American right-wing domination of the world, caring women abort their fetuses so they don’t get exploited by predatory capitalism.

Did I ever miss not having an older sibling? Well, no. I had my hand full with my younger sister.  I don’t suppose Muslim kids miss St. Ursula, either.

According to the anti-abortion crowd, now all fetuses that they always call babies must come to term, no matter if its a ten year old girl who was raped by her father, or an expectant mother who discovers after ultrasound that the baby is growing without a head, or a slipped birth control device that has a 100% chance of birth defects, just like Thalidamide.
No, for these foaming mouth birth enthusiasts, they follow the precepts that they perceive in their holy book: “woman is the origin of sin, it is through her we all die.”
They are so holy and righteous, they will kill you if you disagree.
Where have we heard this before?

THEY BRING IT ON THEMSELVES!

The entire planet has a “deathwish” that is called WAR.  We are on a suicidal course on this chaotic Earth and woman have an “instinct’ as to whether they are prepared to bring new life into such an atmosphere.  Unless one is prepared to risk his own life for another he has nothing to say in the matter. Whether a woman gives birth or her pregnancy is terminated; she is stil at risk to lose her own life.

Therefore it is imperative that women have the ” right to choose ” since they are risking their own lives no matter what the outcome of their pregnancy.

The brave Doctor who was violently gunned down had four children of his own and he was courageous to assist women to distinguish between a catastrophic birth and a successful pregnancy.  It is tragic that this society is so polarized on this issue that there actually are people who do not understand what a grievous act has been committed and in what an untenable predicament this leaves many women.

We have the unsocial and unpleasant Phelps family that constantly makes a “jackass” of themselves. A small minded, small group of people whose sexual practices might be worth investigation.

We had Eric Rudoplh blowing up innocent people and running around the country for ages before being caught. Nothing was done to the organizations (also called churches) which encouraged his dillusional actions and probably protected him on the run. Why? And, can it be that the reason for this current murder happening is because a lot of people thought it ok to encourage such behavior?

This whole argument could be put to rest. Any group trying to force women to carry a pregnancy to term would have to pay a large tax, so that others do not have to support the unwanted results of certain pregnancy. It is not pro life to over load the world with a mass of people whose weight on the environment and ability of the world to hold itself in balance is already yielding such horrible results.

Stop giving these people a pass because they claim to be “pro-life”.

If you think Dr. Tiller and his colleagues are committing murder, then get the laws changed either domestically or in International Law, and PROSECUTE THEM!

Otherwise you are no different than terrorists, than the Fatwas sanctioning killing Salman Rushdie and Shahpur Bahktiar.

If morally killing doctors how perform abortion is OK, then killing anti-abortionists who cheer those killing is morally OK as well.

You want to live in anarchic society where anyone can kill anyone just because the victim is “a bad person”? Fine! But you damn well better expect people to respond to you in kind.  Go into any big city ghetto and you’ll see what the life you advocate is like.

Not enough said, not at all!

The procedures known as late term abortion are rarely performed. Very few a year in the entire nation in fact. When they are done it is generally performed on a fetus that cannot survive outside the womb and when the mother’s life is threatened by continuing the pregnancy.

Abortion is not a subject that should be treated lightly or with the knee jerk reaction that you demonstrate. Your comment is ridiculous on the face of it as you condemn abortion as murder but support another sort of murder. What does that say about you?

I believe that President Clinton had the best take on this subject when he noted that.” abortion should be safe, legal and rare”.
