Three new developments in the Nancy Pelosi drama this week: The Democrats are said to stand “solidly behind” the House speaker, who is under fire from Republicans for talking smack about the CIA that “misled” her on waterboarding.

CNN:

As congressional Republicans continued Monday to stoke the flames over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s accusation that the CIA lied to her about waterboarding, House Democrats appeared to be standing behind their leader.

One of Pelosi’s closest allies in the House, Connecticut Democrat John Larson, acknowledged to CNN that the speaker’s news conference last week could have been better, but insisted there hasn’t been any fallout among Democrats.

Meanwhile, in his daily briefing, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs announced that Obama “has confidence” in Pelosi. That article can be found here.

And CIA Director Leon Panetta urges Congress to focus on actual national security threats, stating “We are a nation at war.” He fears the controversy is starting to impair the agency’s ability to do its job. More on that here.

I think we are not a nation at war but a warring nation.

Binary contention and recrimination as indicated in your post will not fix our duopolistic political system that does not represent the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION of the United States.

Changing our political system from an institutionalized duopoly to an institutionalized multi-party political system will give the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION a political party of their own and allow them to be represented in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of U.S. Government; this will make real democracy possible in the United States, rather than selective democracy for the American aristocracy and middle class singularity as is the present case.

All of the harping that goes on about blame, contention, and recrimination is counter-productive.  Obama is the best choice in rotten apples at the present time and will have to do until something better comes along.  Obama at least is not a CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING EXTREMIST REPUBLICAN that is supporting Ponzi schemers and people peddling toxic securities and credit default swaps that brought down the economy of the United States and the world, as the Bush administration did.

McCain and Obama both wanted to continue the war on terror and increase the red ink military spending this fiscal year in the trillions, admitted upfront by both.

And, the press did not put the democratic challenge on the ballot before the public before they voted for the REQUIRED PEACE CHANGE WANTED BY THE COUNTRY, but not those who control the “duopoly” which is illegal fraud against the people.

The press owed the honest election coverage of SIX on the ballot before people voted.

The press apparently thought they would be “giving’ something??? to the challengers?  Undue support or some such idiocy?  What excuse was there for refusing democracy?

The Federal Election Commission should be implored to declare the incumbents only especially in view of the extreme LACK of true leadership evidence or in their intended platforms, by either candidate of the duopoly of incumbent tyranny, the FEC should admit the fraud happened, two not six and incumbents only as if the only valid choice, should be null and void.

Certainly Obama knows what he is saying, he is not naive he is evil.

War unprovoked is certainly EVIL on the face of it.

Nancy Pelosi has disappointed the country with her lack of proper standing and leadership for reversing the Iraq War result to peace and withdrawal as a majority rule for the change wanted and supposedly voted for, but certainly is not and was not showing in Obama.

It is and was showing in the four challengers!

Again, I offer the Press Conference Link of an Official Challenge for the TRUE DEBATES for PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION BY THE PEOPLE against the incumbent war corrupt.

http://www.tiny-url.org/debates08

The four candidates introduced by Ron Paul, agreed, “Obama is NOT for CHANGE!” and did not represent what they believe is the MAJORITY.

They asked for a real debate.  The press did not listen.

We can demand it.

This audience makes me feel better, the articles do not.  They are disappointing portraits of the two party duopoly as if it is America, and it is what is in office, and that is all, it is not American Constitutional Democracy.

It is nice that folktruther admits we have been “at war” for awhile, not suddenly, and the deal is, of course, supposedly the NATION, not the duopoly, yes, there is a difference, (even the members of the two parties are not all subscribers of a duopoly, I am sure, by that I mean they would like to see honest democracy and that their corrupt parties can and would face the competition from strong candidates and platforms for change and see a majority result!)—because SUPPOSEDLY the NATION VOTED FOR PEACE AND AN END TO THE WAR.  Supposedly. But, Obama was upfront about his intended actions, stated upfront was to attack terrorists in Pakistan, early in his campaign, and early immediately Mushareff CORRECTLY said it was VERY IRRESPONSIBLE of Obama.  Obama showed his “true colors” of ugly to me just in that alone, and then, later, he was clear in his video on his website where he told an audience he was going to occupy Afghanistan, and he had the gall to criticize Bush and say he would do it BETTER…more not less.  And, that is what is happening.  Of course he intends sacrifices NOT WARRANTED at all, peace is indeed warranted and always has been, and the U.S. interference is the pretense of not war, when it is war.

This audience at least is offended by the hypocrisy.

I am too, but I saw hypocrisy earlier than 911.

Clinton and his “leadership” as if military offensives are strength, when proper honor and respect and REQUIRED DIPLOMACY and RESPECT FOR INTERNATIONAL LAW ought to be the RULE.

I believe the majority of Americans did not listen to Obama’s war declared every time he opened his mouth, and his cuts in government and increases in military.  I see nothing good whatsoever in Obama.  REAL DEMOCRACY DEBATES should be demanded sooner rather than later for the world to have a chance to survive.  It is not peace, not anywhere near close.

The four challengers offered the PROPER CHANGE, and they offered an official on the ballot in a majority of states, Baldwin, Barr, McKinney, and Nader…they were supposed to be seen by the public at a national level.

The media did not consider it their duty.

Certainly the CPD hosted by the two parties, and introduced as entirely two party controlled by Ron Paul in his introduction, certainly they were not interested in being TOLD what to do.

The press did not get the message.  WE DO NOT HAVE TWO PARTY RULE if a Democracy under our Constitution!

The press loves the duopoly. They ignored the official contest requested on September 10th, 2008.

http://www.tiny-url.org/debates08

I say we should void the 2008 vote as illegal fraud against our Constitutional democracy and restore valid votes by having the real debate required by the people, of the people, and for the people.

We can demand the taxes in the hands of Congress be allocated to fund the presentation and the debates so the fair meritorious challenge is seen as a true contest, and the redo of the votes is just.  Matt Lauer takes a salary of 13.5 million per year.  Our taxes should be able to fund a valid informed election for honest leadership for people, not corporate war racketeering against the law and people.

When Clinton led NATO bombing, I heard an interview on NPR of a MIT Political Science professor about Yugoslavia and the stop Milosevic NATO bombing, ‘we are slipping into war’!!  I thought, “you do not slip into war!” and how could an MIT professor be serious!

I did not vote for a Republican or Democrat—we have a majority of non-partisan registered voters at 100 million while we have about 62 million in the two parties combined.  Where is the RULE?  The challenge from outside to unseat the duopoly is OVERDUE.

What Obama, Panetta, Pelosi and all the other Dems and Gops agree with is that we are a nation at war. We have been at endless war since the Bushite 9/11 false flag operation initiated the War on Terrorism.  Since this endless War is against populations, including hte American population, torture is an instrumental tactic in pursuing it.

As is mass murder, arbitrary imprisonment, abduction and spying on the American population.  The War on Terrorism is the ideological bullshit legitmating the political revolution in the US power system, and the legitimacy of lawless oppressive power.

All Dem and Gop leaders agree on this and merely position themselves to center on the changing temporary feelings of the population which is manipulated by the mass media.  All the people involved in this fake controversy, Obama, his appointment Panetta, Pelosi the accusing Gops and all the other Dems support torture.  Including torture of Americans, which will increase in the coming period.

No progressive movment is possible without opposing all of them.

The difference between the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION and the 30% combined duopoly of the American Aristocracy and the Middle Class Singularity’s 20% that Nancy Pelosi represents, is that the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION pay a revenue stream for consumables that MAKE capital; and the 30% combined duopoly of the American Aristocracy and the Middle Class Singularity’s 20% that Nancy Pelosi represents receive a revenue stream from the capital generated by the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION of the United States.

Nancy Pelosi represents only 20% of the population and does not in any way represent the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION.  The 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION need leaders that will do all they can to spread the benefit of the revenue stream of capital generated by the consumption of the 70% MAJORITY COMMON POPULATION more equitably throughout the entire 100% of the population of the United States, rather than just the top 30% of the population, the American Aristocracy and the Middle Class Singularity?

We refuse to be the American Aristocracy and the American Middle Class Singularity’s consumer monkeys.

Conservative/moderate Blue Dogs and DLC NEW CLASS right leaning Democrats of which Nancy Pelosi is a part are doing everything they can to stop Obama from being able to accomplish anything beneficial to the nation as a whole and must be voted out of the Democratic Party in the Primaries next year, otherwise Obama’s hands are being tied by people purporting to be his own party, but are CONSERVATIVE Republican sabotage registered as left-wing Democrats only.

We are not at war. No war has been declared.

We are a nation too chicken shit to “declare war” as required by our constitution.

“We are a nation at war.”

I think it would be more correct to say, “We are a Warring Nation,”  willing to spend our resources to send our legions to the far corners of the earth under false pretences, preferring military bases to hospitals, schools and civilized activities.

This is what we have become, what we are.  We need to take a good look in the mirror instead of repeating how great and good we are as we march dumb and disciplined behind a military band.

Mr. Panetta picking up the refrain of the Bush/Cheney propaganda mantra, continuing the disinformation crusade is the real war that is being waged against the American people.

American in the 21st century.  Well since it is totally controlled by American hating freedom hating, liberty hating rightwingnutjobs we are on the verge of prosecuting a democrat that the CIA says they briefed about the torture they were doing illegally and it is the person they briefed that is in trouble.

We all the know rightwing propaganda machine aka, the MSM will pursue the truth about republicans.  If they did why would we be reading this internet site?  If they were not so rightwing biased the republican party would have about 1% rather than 30% of the voters.

Can anyone imagine if Cheney had been a democrat all the different investigations he would be going through regarding his role in the no bid contracts for Halliburton and KBR?
If then VP Cheney had not rewritten the laws regarding contractors duties this would never have been an issue.  Halliburton the company cheney was in charge of prior to becoming vp had been charged 3 times with violating their contracts.  They should have been made to p[ay triple damages. But no this was cheesy cheneys company.  Then after then spun off KBR ( which would never existed if it were not for Cheney rewriting the contractors laws)  the shoddy work continued.

Isn’t it great how war profiteering VP can rewrite the militaries laws so they can create a multi-billion dollar international company.  And naturally the republican owned, controlled, and sponsored propaganda machine aka..the MSM says nothing.

Every question would be, “why did cheney keep receiving money from Halliburton illegally while vp pres”, or “why did Halliburton keep receiving muilti-billion no-bid contracts after they performed the work so poorly”, or any of a thousand other question that a responsible “free press”  would ask.  But since all America has for a press is the MSM which only serves the people that own and control it, who are they worthless, scum, that should be shot for treason, we will never know any of the answers.

I hope our great president Barack Obama remembers he was elected to bring change not more of the same.

It’s true the CIA has trafficked heroin and cocaine.  The CIA definitely needs to be cleaned up, but Pelosi does as well.  Pelosi is not concerned about our country, she keeps saying our nation is at war, but Obama made it plain that there was no longer a war, only an “Overseas Contingency Operation”.  Why is Pelosi bound and determined to make this overseas operation a war?  The contingency operation in Afghanistan is not a war and if it is contingent upon finding Osama bin Laden, Osama bin Laden is DEAD and the operation needs to be stopped and all the troops brought home.

Ms. Pelosi’s excuse is that she could not talk to anyone about anything she learned about planned or active torture programs while she was in Congress.

If this woman had had any moral fiber she would have resigned from Congress immediately after which she would have been free to disclose publicly what she had learned. Of course that is true of all other US Representatives and Senators who knew.
......................
This post betrays a lack of understanding of the oath that binds Speaker Pelosi from disclosing specifics of that meeting forever, not just while in office.

It is rather important to frame the debate accurately and not allow Republican propaganda to deflect us from the truth.

....

This, from the article, seems to sum up much of this brouhaha:

“Conservative Indiana Democrat Baron Hill
said that people who are zeroing in on the speaker are trying to move away from the broader issue of who authorized the harsh interrogation methods.

“I think a lot of people have lost focus on the people who put those torture policies in place in the first place,” Hill said. ”

Panetta’s and his fellow Repugs are even more stupid than I thought being willing to wrap the albatrose of the CIA’s creditability around their own necks.
Inept or Corrupt - Let US count the ways.
Didn’t bother keeping track of AQ after ‘93. Failed to track the 9/11 Highjackers into the US. Failed to derail the events of 9/11 by working with FBI. Failed to yet find Binny with all their foreign ‘Intell’...WMD’s, ‘Mobile Labs’, yellow Cakes, Anthrax, torture, rendition, hit squads and Oh yeah leaked the name of their own covert agent.
Now they expect US to believe they informed congress correctly? Hell even the moron Hoekstra has issues with their ‘Truthiness’- conducting an investigation into to a downed civilian plane killing a mother & child.
Who isn’t sure they have back dated there ‘files’- apparently one uses the term ‘enhanced interrogation Techniques’ on a ‘02 memo, when the term wasn’t even coined until’06 (same year the Dems took over Congress)
So Obama let the small fries off who actually carried out the Torture orders- that does not mean the upper echelon are off for having committed the crimes which lent themselves to these orders being given. Tennet,Goss and their high ranking Henchmen have not been given a ‘Get out of jail Free’ card - and I hope they never do. If Panetta wants to be included he can keep Defending the indefensible.
Heres a lil’ hint for the CIA- A good number of Right wingers not only distrust the CIA too- but have conspiracy theories which begin with the activities of the CIA.
Furthermore I am outraged that any politician dare reprimand any citizen for not supporting the CIA…In this country The CIA WORKS FOR US! If we have concerns or dissatisfaction with the way they conduct themselves it is within our Rights as A Democracy to criticize, just like with those Politicians who seem to have forgotten WHO IS THE BOSS Too. The CIA SUCKS and can not be Trusted, I can say that Because they are MY EMPLOYEES working In MY AGENCY as a part of MY GOVERNMENT!
By the way Repugs - If Waterboarding is not a Crime, then Pelosi’s knowing is not a crime. If it is, then not only is she guilty of knowledge after the fact, so is every other member of congress who knew. Pick One

Damn, and I bet obama supports leon panetta’s ‘still a nation at war’ statement knowing it is just the thing to make all those msm junkies cream in their jeans ‘cause ameriker is kicking ass.

So once again is there any more debate about how this country is no different that the past two illegal presidential terms that come from reagan’s tenure?

And I cannot help but to say again the conservative owned and operated MSM is doing a very treasonous bit of work in maintaining the obsurdities of ‘war on terrorism’ that is just a ploy to maintain the imperial ambitions of a bunch of traitorous corporate bastards and also to mention this devious msm’s efficient method of cluttering up the real crises with a bunch of lesser ‘pet peeves’ for the sole purpose of distraction, by the way, no mention of anything resembling this latest developement being played out in washington on my favorite msm site msnbc.

Which is another testament about the treason of that 4th branch, the media, when they cover news about the federal issues with networks placing a team of reporters at the white house and the capital just to give a 5 or 8 minute rundown of the day activities the white house and capital want the citizens to view, very informative stuff, huh?

But then again with panetta there is this ““US Airstrikes in Pakistan Called ‘Very Effective’”” by panetta on his ‘nation still at war’ bullshit for the hopelessly lost and here is the link:

The only link between the people who are speaking is potential indictment. Has anyone else noticed that? Everyone’s trying to position.

But, I know of some lawyers that are poised to serve indictments in a bi-partisan manner as soon as the time is right. I think that equality in warrant would solve a lot of political problems. It makes today’s radio/tv and web water-carriers irrelevant on both sides.

A side note that made me laugh, with their record-keeping problems (not that Nancy isn’t guilty of sin for not trying to stop torture, according to the law), I can now understand the growing problem of prosecuting Gitmo and other inmates, aside from torture. A decent lawyer would be all that is needed to trash the entire body of evidence from the CIA. What a bunch of LOSERS.  Obama apparently realizes this. Or maybe not.

None of my liberal friends think she is worth crap.

What Nancy will find out is that our Democrats DO NOT STAND SOLIDLY FOR OR AGAINST ANYTHING. We already know that.

And the ones “speaking out” are others who are already implicated.

The issue is NOT ONLY the torture, it is THOSE WHO LOOKED THE OTHER WAY.  How many times do the American people have to tell the Democrats this?

Its no longer about WHAT BUSH GOT AWAY WITH. Now it is about WHAT OBAMA IS ATTEMPTING TO GET AWAY WITH.

Talk radio today, Dems and Repubs agree. We are going to get you ALL. And Obama’s “few rotten apples” are perhaps the least guilty.

At war with whom???  What nation is it that the United States is at war with? A war against an UNDEFINED enemy that is not a state or a nation is a perpetual war.  If the United States chooses to engage in war, the United States must DEFINE what state or nation the United States is at war with, or end the conflict as a war.  If conflict is not with a state or nation, the conflict is only a policing action and should be handled as such.  If Pelosi wants to call this conflict a war, she must say what state or nation the United States is at war with; otherwise her claim to war is disingenuous at best.

America is a nation at war with our elected government. Bush-bama, Congress, House and Senate, CIA, DIA, FBI, NSC, and name the war criminal. This roots in 9/11 and slides into the Afpakisnam/Iraq war and CIA renditions. The illegal detentions and how the congress-creepers lie about the mess. Torture, war crimes, wars of naked aggression, and enough violations of the Geneva Convention to keep a Nuremberg style tribunal busy for years. Bush-bama can’t dodge the inevitable for much longer. Slick Holder will have to be pushed into doing his freaking job. Mercy, that’s just hopelessly sad.
