There’s No Place Like Home, Unless You’re Chris DoddPosted on Apr 16, 2009
Congressional fundraising numbers are in, and the Political Wire has teased out some interesting performances. Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut managed to raise just 0.7 percent of his funds from contributors in his own state—all five of them. Roland Burris, the man appointed by Rod Blagojevich to replace Barack Obama in the Senate, pulled in a whopping $845. He’s $111,032 in debt. The top fundraiser overall was Rep. Eric Cantor, the No. 2 Republican in the House, who raised a cool million in the first quarter. Advertisement New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page. Chris Dodd, Joe Lieberman. There is something seriously wrong in Connecticut. The good people of Connecticut could take some comfort in knowing that at least they aren’t stuck with Gov. Rick ‘slapnut’ Perry. Perry can’t threaten America with a good time.

What is exposed here is the naked truth of our bought system of political representation. Citizens of Connecticut see little in it for them,(Dodd is a shoe in or loser so what) but those that may profit from his vote despite not being his constitutional constitutes want it(his vote). Mr Burris on the other hand is thought a bad investment not only by his constitutional constituents but also the money groups that buy Senators with contributions to their “election fund”.
