Avigdor Lieberman’s remarks at a Foreign Ministry handover ceremony had the audience of diplomats squirming uncomfortably.

Israel’s new super-duper-ultranationalist Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday dismissed a 2007 agreement with Palestinian officials aimed at discussing the creation of a Palestinian state. Lieberman claims the agreement, made in Annapolis, Md., has “no validity.”

The BBC:

Israel’s new ultra-nationalist foreign minister has said it is not bound by a US-sponsored 2007 agreement to reach a peace deal with the Palestinians.

“The Annapolis conference, it has no validity,” Avigdor Lieberman said.

He was speaking at a handover ceremony at the foreign ministry, prompting his predecessor Tzipi Livni to interrupt and diplomats to shift uncomfortably.

At Annapolis, each side agreed to further discussions aimed at creating an independent Palestinian state.

Fadel, I don’t think Israeli Zionism is based ideologically on fantasies of revenge, but on the ideology of Jewish power.  A religious nationalism has been instilled in the Jewish people for generations, and was especially triggered by the European massacre. But Zionism existed previous to the holocaust, as provided by pieces of brewerstoupe, Robert and erdosy.

Zionists identify with Jewish power rather than the Jewish population.  This was ilusstrated by the quote of Ben Gurion who stated publically during WW2 that if he had a choice of saving all the Jewish children or only half that were to go to Israel, he would sacrifice the deaths of half the children of the Jewish population.

Zionism is based on a religious ideology of death, this death being the sacrifice for Jewish power.  So fanatics like Sepharad can identify with this Zionism without identifying with revenge.  The Zionist lemmings, like Howard and Inherit, don’t really have any other ideology than Follow The Leader, even if it leads Israel over the cliff of destruction.

So they will continue to back Israel even when it is led by the present fascist regime, not because of revenge fantasies, but because of an extreme religious nationalism that inculcates the Goodness of Jewish power.  And fuck everybody else, including the dissident Jewish population. All of whom they classify as anti-Semites.

Israel And The Crime Of Apartheid
By Hazem Jamjoum

“In recent years, increasing numbers of individuals around the world have begun adopting and developing an analysis of Israel as an apartheid regime. This can be seen in the ways that the global movement in support of the Palestinian anti-colonial struggle is taking on a pointedly anti-apartheid character, as evidenced by the growth of Israeli Apartheid Week…”

Another major dilemma facing Israel is that, at a time when the so-called conservatives everywhere are moderating their positions on several issues, Israel is moving backward and is increasingly being dominated by fanatics.

For example, at a time when the most so-called conservatives, like King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, had his wife accompany him to the G-20 Summit in London, and was photographed publicly with the other spouses of attendees, in Israel women were photoshopped Out Of Israeli Cabinet Picture to Please Ultra-Orthodox. Isn’t it time for the US to declare a war on Israel under the pretext of liberating it from the Jewish Taliban.?!
============================================
JERUSALEM — Two women serve in Israel’s new Cabinet, but some Israelis would rather not see them.

Newspapers aimed at ultra-Orthodox Jewish readers tampered with the inaugural photograph of the Cabinet, erasing ministers Limor Livnat and Sofa Landver.

Ultra-Orthodox newspapers consider it immodest to print images of women.

The daily Yated Neeman digitally changed the photo, moving two male ministers into the places formerly occupied by the women.

The weekly Shaa Tova simply blacked the women out, in a photo reprinted Friday by the mainstream daily Maariv.

No response was available from the two papers.

During the election, campaign posters featuring female candidate Tzipi Livni were defaced near ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods.

One psychological problem that most Zionists have without being aware of it is that their world view is so steeped in the complex of Masada and the Holocaust and the desire for revenge. So people like Tom Hurndall and Rachel Corrie were the victim of the Zionists’ desire for revenge because they were on the other side of the fence and so were the thousands of Palestinian children, women and civilians Israel has massacred over the sixty years of its unfortunate foundation!

Had the Zionists ever internalized the wisdom of their Arab cousins, as expressed in the adage, “While seeking revenge, dig two graves- one for yourself,” they would have taken a different course. And thus they continue to ignore the fact that for every grave they cause to create on the other side, they are digging at least a similar grave for themselves, if not more.

Another concept the Zionists don’t understand or internalize is that “Courage on the side of their adversaries is not a lack of fear, but the ability to act courageously while facing fear.” This applies to people like Tom Hurndall, Rachel Corrie and the few thousands of courageous Palestinian freedom fighters who certainly fear Israel superior power of weapons and their superior capacity to terrorize, massacre and destruct. Yet, despite that fear and their awareness of it they continue to resist where there is no other alternative to it.

Lieberman was elected because of the intrangience and genocide propounded by Hamas.  About time some rightest guys in Israel got in charge.  Because he says it does not mean he won’t want peace. Just like Nixon screaming for years at the Communists, he trotted off to China soon as he was elected.

It might wake up Hamas to get real and decide to make a nation instead of misleading their people into hatred of everyone and utter dependance on the dole of the world to support ‘em.

To one and all: Should this statement bring any kind of response other than to say, ‘Thank G-d, now someone in Israel, is honest and forthright in their speech regarding the fate of the Palestinian people.’
Avigdor Lieberman, is one of many who would if given half a chance, shoot and kill every Palestinian down to the last child. And he makes no bones about his intentions regarding a ‘one state’ solution. With no Palestinian people in ‘eretz Israel.’
Of all the nerve to slap the US in the face, regardless of the consequences, Avigdor, is the worst kind of racist and Zionist that money can buy.
His is the secular equivalent of the Shas party, the equally racist and Zionist religious party that has long held power over the religious life of Israel.
Should this racist and white supremacist kind of party continue to hold power, America needs to cut the apron strings of power to Israel, and let the Zionists and Palestinians fight it out amongst themselves or gain a happy medium of peace without the interference of an outside influence, namely America.

the Bushite roadmap was simple a public relations fraud.  this right wing government, which includes labor, is simply stating what all previous Israeli governments have been doing.

The Israeli government released in early march a plan to increase housing for two hundred thousand more Isreli settlers on Palestinian land, added to the nearly half million already there.  this could not be done without Obama’s OK.

Lieberman, Netanyahu and Likud are the heirs and creations of Begin and the Irgun. Albert Einstein, Hannah Arendt and others had it right in 1948 when they denounced Begin and the Irgun (in the New York Times, no less) as fascist, racist and terrorist.  Nothing has changed and nothing will until the people of this country and their political leaders view Israel and its government through the prism of U.S. interests and not AIPAC’s looking glass.

So what’s new under the sun when it comes to Israel, Zionism and their enablers the US political-military-industrial complex?!

I am so tired of repeating myself, but I am more tired and frustrated with official America than with Israel. We know by now that fascist Israel will always do what it does best: occupy, terrorize, bully, besiege, colonize and destroy. That’s why in a short period of sixty years they managed to build the forth largest military force in the world with the most deadly weapons made available to them by their cheering partners, the US political-military-industrial complex.

When I first contemplated the idea of immigrating to America thirty years ago, I was partly forced to do that because my hometown was occupied by terrorist Israel and I wished to start a better, more free life in a country that its pledge of allegiance included “One nation, under God, with freedom and liberty for all.” On paper and on television images this looked ideal, but little I knew that I was destined to get more than I bargained for. And what more than I bargained for turned out to be that my adopted country is the major enabler and partner in perpetrating occupation, terrorism, violence, wars and destruction in my original occupied homeland and in the neighborhood.

Now that I reached the point of giving up hope on seeing peace and justice, my anger and disappointment is directed more at official America than official Israel. Therefore, I am suggesting that the old false American slogan of “one nation, under God, with freedom and liberty for all” should be changed to “One nation, under Zionist yoke, with freedom and liberty for none other than Israel!”

“By Chet Roman” makes a good point.
Another is that whenever I hear that Hamas or Hezbollah is dedicated to destroying Israel,” I notice no one ever mentions the fact
that Israel (proven by every action Israel has taken) is dedicated to the complete destruction of the Palestinian people.
As the world wakes up to the true horror of what kind of country (artificial at that since without the American taxpayer it would not exist) Israel becomes more and more extremist and right-wing.
And Israel has the nerve to threaten Iran for its extremism.

Adolf Hitler once told his hapless Foreign Minister: “When a treaty no longer serves our interests it no longer exists”. His statement was made to bolster his invasion of the Soviet Union two years after his signing of the Non-Aggression Pact with Stalin in 1939.

Of course Hitler was not the first nor the last ruler/politician who used this form of ‘betrayal’. It has been done time-and-again by dictatorships and democracies throughout history and will be used countless time in the future.

So much is being made about what Hamas will and will not recognize. Israel wants to kill all members of Hamas (civilian police, secretaries, streed sweeper, etc.) because they will not recognize Israel’s right to exist. However, Fatah has recognized Israel a long time ago and yet the Israels continue to steal West Bank land and murder West Bank Palestinians on a daily basis.

All this talk is only a smoke screen for Israel’s real intent: ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from Eretz Israel. At least Lieberman is not a hypocrite like most other Israeli politicians and their American collaborators.

If the leading party of the other side (Hamas) refused to recognize it, did an agreement ever exist?

I think not.

This was long overdue and glad to see Israel is facing reality.
