GM Is Europe’s Headache, Too

GM does not make the smart car, which may be part of its problem.

If GM strikes out in Washington, the automaker could take its troubles to Europe, the second continent where it has asked for a bailout. That’s because GM operates plants in six European countries, to the tune of 300,000 jobs.

The company is hoping for good news, especially since its auditors announced it may not survive much longer.

BBC:

Earlier this week, GM’s top executive warned the European divisions of General Motors (GM) could collapse within weeks without European governments’ help - costing up to 300,000 jobs.

Chief operating officer Fritz Henderson also said governments should step in immediately to ensure GM Europe did not run out of money by April or May.

Admist liquidation fears and debt, GM’s influence in the 300,000 jobs in Europe is a main cause for concern. Employment rate will inevitably be dealt a strong blow, and European markets would fall due to a lack in confidence. On the production and servicing end, customers will have to seek alternatives or face a long term problem of car warranty services.

This is the most ridiculous situation. I can’t believe that any government would consider bailing out any of these badly mismanaged and profitless companies. These are the same idiots who trumpet the qualities of capitalism yet don’t shrink from begging for government bailout money. Sad.

GM seems to be in quite a bit of trouble recently, they just had to recall over 5,000 heavy-duty Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans because of a faulty alternator. The UK government has agreed to loan a big wedge of cash, but only so they can keep open the two vauxhall plants.

Well, well….GM is threatening governments on two continents. Too bad they don’t have the cure President Obama has.

When GM collapses, and it will, the union members of the UAW will blame him, of course, and vote for RePugNaConZ; That’s the bad news.

But they’ll leave Michigan for the only auto jobs left, MS, TN, AL, TX, KT and elsewhere in the south, nullifying the effect of not placing the blame where it truly belongs, GM and the New South’s civil war against real America.

Let the sucker go down! Nobody needs any of their cars! GM is an obstacle to universal healthcare! The managers are greedy lying bloodsuckers! They destroyed the EV1 and public transportation in the US! It’s time to finally make GM history and bury it in an unmarked grave!

GM’s CEO should go. The reason GM is dying is because of bad business decisions not because the hard working union workers are sucking the finances. Technology is ready for longer range electric and electric hybrids and GM’s Volt is not out yet. GM’s CEO is still a fossil fuel beleiver who has become a fossil of ideas. The “build it and they will come” is still alive, just not in the dinosaur minds of these CEOs getting handouts from our tax dollars and denying the future the right decisions.

GM is too top heavy in Management they blame the union and pensions but the suits brought this company down. The Bankruptcy will cut the fat and we will have a lean mean auto making machine. The wages will be lower and the retirement will be gone, Join the club ! $25.00 per hour is a good living in the cesspool of the rust belt. It’s good most places. GOOD LUCK !!!
