The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives had hoped to set an environmental example, but going green is turning out to be a bit of a challenge for the cigar-chomping Washington types.

Plans to purchase carbon offsets have been scrapped, and the coal-hungry plant that powers the Capitol is no one’s friend.

Washington Post via L.A. Times:

The House of Representatives has abandoned a plan to make its offices “carbon neutral,” a sign that Congress is wrestling with a pledge to become more green even as it crafts sweeping legislation on climate change.

So what we have here are a bunch of neoconservative, rightwing, big business, corporate, cigar chomping types that are solely responsible for this mess that is for benefitting them at the taxpayer’s expense. What it really is, is that these are the true criminal treasonous traitors to this country that think the rules and laws pertain only to the taxpayers, why of course, how else can the taxpayers be held accountable for not providing these clowns with their wants and needs? It is time people to open our eyes and to know that these are the real people that need incarceration and all their money taken from them. They are the destroyers of the last of a resemblance of stable societies and civilizations. They are the reasons for the overshoot of humans, the destruction of the ecological and environmental systems of the world.
And yet we try to act civil and not stooped to their level by dragging them out in chains, locking them up and prosecuting them for their crimes. Big money is NOT immune to the law. They have NOT earned a place to tell the people what to do. They do it because we are allowing them to do it.
