The head of this mess, the one put in charge to see to it that everything ran smooth-verses crunchy-was a buddy and pal of and according to the TV news appointee of none other than-you guessed it-George W.Bush. Need anyone say more?
Now, what I want to know is that “crunchy” stuff in your peanut butter really peanuts, or is it some of the bird dropping and run off water and crud from the leaking roofs, mouse and rat droppings, the bird feathers, or the stuff from the floor, where the dropped peanuts are cleaned up and put back into the production line because the highers said the peanuts mean more MONEY! But wait, I bet it is a combination of all of those plus more things than you want to know.
To bad we do not have a mandatory death sentence for anyone who knowingly-and they did- who puts the lives of the consumers beneath that of corporate greed. Why not take an example from China, that may give just enough incentive for those to clean up their business.
Lies, corruption, greed and death to others, the Republican Way to run Big Businesses.

Boggeyman, I agree whole heartedly with your statement.
Report thisWhen I read labels, I stay on the alert for the words CHINA and/or TEXAS.
I also have a habit of shunning other well known “red-states”.
De-regulation is entirely oriented to corporate profits and to hell with the welfare of the public.

Has there been collusion between gov. employees and Peanut Co. management, possibly payoffs, etc. ? The reports infer nothing less.

In the Washington/Oregon area you can buy food at farmers markets and a lot of people here do that.
Trouble is that farmers markets are only spring through fall and the cost is more but you know that what you buy will not kill you.
But you know the mautra of the Repubs is self regulation because these corporations will do what is best, of course I want to know who they are talking to. Like smaller government is better, sure like a dictatorship is smaller government. And in a dictatorship the people at the top have money, that is the goal of the Repubs, tax cuts only problem is tax cuts are good for those who have jobs but seems the only jobs left is Wall Street and Bankers all nonworkers pay less taxes and wageowners(those who make a product) pay more taxes.

This Peanut Caper demonstrates the reality that business is foremost at the expense of public health and safety. The FDA should be commended for its toothless incompentence.

This CEO should be facing 9 counts of First Degree Murder, forethought and malice. Luckly his other Facility is in the Execution Frenzied state of TX. Instead of the rather quick lethal injection method, make him eat his own product and die the way his victims did.I consider that Fair and Just!
Report thisThis is just one more example of how Big Agri Business is killing US.they can not maintain safe food production methods- plants or animal. Have increaased our food costs far beyond our meager 4% cost of living wage increases (‘82 loaf of bread about $0.52, Now luck to buy on sale at $2.50- do the math). Infect more people over larger distribution ranges. Abuse and neglect the food prodcuing livestock- not to mention allowing sick animals to enter production. Devastate more land by mass prodcution, increase air (concentrated Methane zones) & water (pesticide run offs) pollution. Hire immigrant laborers as indentured slaves, creating not only a shadow work force, but undercutting all grads from our Ag colleges for jobs, wages and bennies.Paying Farmers Pittances not to produce so they can drive up food costs and increase WallStreeters profit margins.
Is anyone starting to comprehend why Family Farmers were Screaming bloody Murder in the ‘80s?These Corps aren’t just killing US, they are holding the Worlds Bread Basket Hostage!
We were far safer when small farmers only distribured to local markets. Animals were better cared for by those who bred and raisd them and who’s customers knew who they were. Our environement was far better able to handle any contaminates when distributed on smaller more scattered acreages. Our Ag Graduates were able to find jobs to help manage these numerous smaller farms more effecticiently and effectively in a True Free market of competition. Mass Groups were not as easy to hide or abuse.
But now we not only have our Farming industry being manipulated by Big Ag, but a Chinese Chicken farmer is reliant on cargill to produce Corn for his stock- putting the Chinese corn producer out of business and possibly the chicken farmer when Cargill decides the deal is not lucrative enough for them. How many in China will Starve because of this global manipulation and Control over food production?

Heck, what’s a little rat excrement! It’s all roasted anyway. Just like hamburger meat that gets a little cow feces in it. After proper cooking, it’s all good!
It’s a maxim of biology that organisms can’t live in their own wastes. They will try, but sooner or later it will catch up to them!

They need to charge the greedy bastard who runs that show with murder and give him about 20 years. The difference between clean and what they did is a very small investment and to let it continue is inexcusable ! The policies of deregulation are killing people and bankrupting our country. Murder and Mayhem is the Republican way. Corporate scale food production could kill thousands easily with one small error (or vengeful act). Shop Locally and if you can afford it buy organic. We have the power to change this madness, Don’t give up.
