It seems Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s stimulus compromise announcement was a tad premature, a fact that reportedly irked the most powerful woman in politics, Nancy Pelosi. “The speaker went through the roof,” a House Democrat told Politico, when she saw Reid’s alleged power play.

The disagreement seems to revolve around school construction. Reid’s announcement may have been an attempt to force Pelosi’s hand.

Politico via Political Wire:

According to a half dozen Congressional aides and members, Reid went before the cameras Wednesday to announce a stimulus deal before Pelosi had agreed on all the details of school construction financing.

“It’s ruffled feathers, big time,” said a House Democrat speaking on condition of anonymity. “The speaker went through the roof.”

Added one House Democratic aide: “He tried to roll her and she knew it.”

And wait ‘til you get the bill to repair the hole her head went through.  It might be better if don knutsen wished for Nancy Pelosi to “have a heart.”  She’s already hung plenty of “pairs” on her office wall, probably including Harry Reid’s after Dick Cheney forgot them in a desk drawer.  She and Hillbillary Clinton enjoy comparing their collections.

How’s that for PinC?

HokaHey!

Nancy Pelosi is more concerned with her own agenda, as the first woman speaker then she is with dealing with what is wrong in america these days. The first indicator to everyone shoulda been when she exclaimed that impeachement was “off the table”. She is a part of the problem, not part of a solution. She needs to be replaced with someone, who excuse the lack of PC, has a pair. If she cared about what is wrong in this country, then she should be enraged at what a mess this last admin. left us and the world. But she’s enraged instead at the thought of Reid flexing his mighty senatorial biceps. Step outa the way Nancy, sorry no one bought your book, You’ve risen to a lofty position in our goverment…but what have you accomplished for the people ? Let someone like Kucinich, who seems to be still one of the only members of the house who still cares about this country.

After watching Reps Foxx and Kingston from Republicans VA and GA in their silly attacks on this stimulus bill makes me wonder why the Democrats are having any difficulty getting this bill through the congress.  It should be like taking candy from a baby.  Kingston is trying his next career in stand-up by attacking the bill as some sort of pay off to white rats in SF, while Foxx is belittling any attempts at bipartisanship.  I’d like to see this bill discussed in a serious manner, not in quibbling BS that seems to comes so easily to these pettifoggers.
Rep Perlmutter (D-CO) got up and explained the basics of the bill and it became clear that any serious legislators could dope slap these clowns and pass the bill.
Bobos from the southern states who call into C-SPAN echo the same points as these two solons of south.

It is said, Congress represents the common person while the Senate represents the elite?  Arguing the point, they both seem to represent the string pullers, I assure you it is not I.
