Buildings Destroyed in Gaza
Maan Images / Wissam Nassar

The destruction in the Gaza Strip has led to increased racial solidarity between Israeli Arabs and Palestinian Arabs.

As the death toll of Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip moves past 1,000, tensions between Arab Israelis and Jewish Israelis are growing. Some of the country’s Arab population is becoming vocal in denouncing the bombings, while some Israeli politicians are trying to ban the re-election of Arabs to parliament on the grounds of alleged national disloyalty.

The BBC:

“We are in a very difficult position,” the woman told me. And then she burst into tears.

We are at a political rally held in this northern city to oppose the war in Gaza. Around us protesters held banners and chanted slogans.

Nearly all of them were Israeli Arabs, including my sobbing interviewee.

“We are citizens of Israel,” she said, “but we are Palestinian. Emotionally, we are part of the people in Gaza.”

“At the street, or at the supermarket, people are supporting the killing of children. And we are living among these people.”

“Unable to emigrate !  Without repercusions to families.”

Another post, another lie.  Many Iranian Jews did emigrate during and after the 1979 revolution. You just make this stuff up as you go along don’t you? At least you’re predictable Howard.

Some quotes from Iranian Jews.

“The identity of Iranian Jews is not tradeable for any amount of money,” the society said in a statement. “Iranian Jews are among the most ancient Iranians. Iran’s Jews love their Iranian identity and their culture, so threats and this immature political enticement will not achieve their aim of wiping out the identity of Iranian Jews.”

Iran’s sole Jewish MP, Morris Motamed, said the offers were insulting and put the country’s Jews under pressure to prove their loyalty.

“It suggests the Iranian Jew can be encouraged to emigrate by money,” he said. “Iran’s Jews have always been free to emigrate and three-quarters of them did so after the revolution but 70% of those went to America, not Israel.”

AJ,

“Hamas has been holding an IDF soldier name Gilat Shalit (spelling may be wrong).  He has been held up in Gaza for just over TWO YEARS!!!!!!!  is that right?  is that humanity?”

Yes, we do hear a lot about Gilat Shalit don’t we, but nothing of the two Palestiaina brothers that were captured the day before by the IDF and have never been seen since.  The capture of Shalit on June 5th was a reprisal for the capture of these brothers the day before, which was all part of the Israel’s collective punichment of the Gazans for voting the wrong way.

What about the thousands of political prisoners Israel has incarcertated, 1000 of which were children when they were taken and which Israel admits remain prisoners for “administrative” reasons, not becasue they have been charged?  Children who were taken prisoner over a decade ago who spent their entire child-hood in an Israeli prison.

What about THAT humanity?

“They should not stop the offensive until Hamas opens negotiations with us and retracts there call for the end of israel and releases Gilat Shalit.”

Hamas was open for negotiations mid december and Israel rejected the offer.  Do you agree that Israel shoud retract it’s goal of eleminating Israel?  Do you agree that Israel should release the prisoners it has held for over a decade that are not charged with any crime?

Probabyl not, because in your mind, the life of an Israeli is sacred, whiel the life of an Arab is woprthless.

“Hamas might have been elected, but then the palistinian people have nobody to blame but themselves.”

So much for democracy.  Israel and it’s allies have proven to the world that it has no respect for democracy, human righs or interntaional law.

“At least 13 Jews have been executed in Iran since the Islamic revolution 19 years ago”

So you did the math and averaged this to come up with 1 Jewish excecution every 17 months.

From this source, it sounds like most of the executions took place a while ago. When, according to your source, was the last Iranian Jew executed Howard? Again I ask you, that if conditions are so appaling for Iranian Jews, why don’t the rest of the 25,000 that still live there refuse to move to Israel?

Article tells a lot about Israeli Arabs at least being citizens and even in the Knesset.  Jews are not even allowed to live or have been driven out of neighbor arab counries. Shows the democracy in Israel is still vibrant, and while tested, is going strong
Yes, Iran, has a small Jewish population, much down from a far larger population, and now is left but in a precarious situation.
====================
source for this info about Iran:
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/anti-semitism/iranjews.html

“The Islamization of Iran has brought about strict control over Jewish educational institutions. Before the revolution, there were some 20 Jewish schools functioning throughout the country. In recent years, most of these have been closed down. In the remaining schools, Jewish principals have been replaced by Muslims. In Teheran there are still three schools in which Jewish pupils constitute a majority. The curriculum is Islamic, and Persian is forbidden as the language of instruction for Jewish studies. Special Hebrew lessons are conducted on Fridays by the Orthodox Otzar ha-Torah organization, which is responsible for Jewish religious education. Saturday is no longer officially recognized as the Jewish sabbath, and Jewish pupils are compelled to attend school on that day. There are three synagogues in Teheran, but since 1994, there has been no rabbi in Iran, and the bet din does not function. 4

Following the overthrow of the shah and the declaration of an Islamic state in 1979, Iran severed relations with Israel. The country has subsequently supported many of the Islamic terrorist organizations that target Jews and Israelis, particularly the Lebanon-based, Hezbollah. Nevertheless, Iran’s Jewish community is the largest in the Middle East outside Israel.

On the eve of Passover in 1999, 13 Jews from Shiraz and Isfahan in southern Iran were arrested and accused of spying for Israel and the United States. Those arrested include a rabbi, a ritual slaughterer and teachers. In September 2000, an Iranian appeals court upheld a decision to imprison ten of the thirteen Jews accused of spying for Israel. In the appeals court, ten of the accused were found guilty of cooperating with Israel and were given prison terms ranging from two to nine years. Three of the accused were found innocent in the first trial.5 In March 2001, one of the imprisoned Jews was released, a second was freed in January 2002, the remaining eight were set free in late October 2002. The last five apparently were released on furlough for an indefinite period, leaving them vulnerable to future arrest. Three others were reportedly pardoned by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.6

At least 13 Jews have been executed in Iran since the Islamic revolution 19 years ago, most of them for either religious reasons or their connection to Israel. For example, in May 1998, Jewish businessman Ruhollah Kakhodah-Zadeh was hanged in prison without a public charge or legal proceeding, apparently for assisting Jews to emigrate.7

Today, Iran’s Jewish population is the second largest in the Middle East, after Israel. Reports vary as to the condition and treatment of the small, tight-knit community, and the population of Iranian Jews can only be estimated due to the community’s isolation from world Jewry.”

Misspelling on your part. You mean islamic militants and Nazis. !

            x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x

Howard,

The balanced, objective way of looking at it is that Islamism, Zionism and Naziism are three forms of the same thing - national chauvinism. They are, in essence, all three equally pernicious ideologies which must be extirpated from the face of the earth if mankind is ever to live in peace.

This ‘jewish/Muslim’ war dates back to Caine & Able, with a good dose of help from the bloodthirsty ‘jesus’ Freaks along the way.

        ===================================

PG,

I think it would be better to say that the “Jewish/Muslim war” began around 1895 when Zionist founder Theodore Herzl concocted this idea that Palestine is the Jewish homeland and that all the Jews in the world should move there.

I refuse to call Zionists like Howard and AJ “Jews”. They are nothing like the Jews I have always known, my family and friends from childhood that I grew up with, who are the most internationalist, non-chauvinistic people I know. These ultra-Zionists are the very reincarnation of Nazis. They sound like Nazis, they behave like Nazis and they should be treated as such. National chauvinism is essentially the same everywhere no matter what “nation” it is.

As a natural born US citizen of european decent, I have come to Hate the Israeli Gov’t along with all their Co conspirators in our Gov’t and in the ‘religious ’ community.
I have no allegeince to Palestine, nor any other muslim group. But neither do I have (or have given) my Pledge of allegience to Israel, nor converted the the sociopathic morbidly obsessed ‘evangelicals’. I have no dog in this fight, nor do I wish to enter one.
This ‘jewish/Muslim’ war dates back to Caine & Able, with a good dose of help from the bloodthirsty ‘jesus’ Freaks along the way. As far as I’m concerned they are all so engrossed in their ‘end of Days’ doctrines, they fail to comprehend the very religiions they claim membership- they are NONE OF THE ABOVE. We’ve all read this book before, it’s been around since the time mankind realized there were forces in the world which could easily wipe them out, far older than any of these Faiths. ‘Faith’ means you leave somethings in the ‘hands’ of that which we can not control.
If these ‘chicken littles’ want to be ‘raptured’ then be so kind as to leave the rest of us out of it- Murder is a greater sin than suicide. Do us all a favor and follow the examples of those who came before you, like Jim Jones. It’s time we too follow the example of so many societies who ran these lunatics out of town.
Humanity has a responsiblity, to itself, our descendants, the Planet and maybe even God, to be the Stewards of that which we have been given (by god or nature), Since We are the ONLY species on the planet cabable of effecting it. I have faith that if we meet our Innate responsiblities we need not Die to see ‘heaven’.
Seems the Israeli Gov’t has picked Up Hagee’s wish to begin the Apocalypse, guess that’s what ‘friends’ are for, ah? Hey maybe by the end there will only be 144,000 Jews left to convert, so ‘God’ will not have to increase ‘seating’ on the Rapture Bus.Perhaps they coudl all meet at Armegeda and fight it out amongst themselve while the rest of us get back to our chores and duties.
Humanity would be Blessed if 3 lightening bolts hit those 3 ‘holy’ sites similtaneously- would that finally convince them their ideology is heretical?

Who has ever objected to the existence of Israel? Israelis are Palestinian’s cousins. Muslim ancestors belong to this old religion.

These very Palestinians who are being massacred and blasted out of their dwelling; few years back offered Israelis their homes and shelters when they were destitute; they were the low of the low on this planet and were rejected and thrown out of Europe. The whole west wanted to kill every single Jew on their soils for their transgression and they fled and got their refuge in Palestine.

What a reward; this guest is paying back to their hosts. Very well done Israel…!

When will Israel learn to be good neighbour? The only matter of contention with Israel is that after finding a place of refuge offered by Palestinians [1]; Israel elected to be the agent of west and acts as the enabler to instigate others to have a ceaseless war like situation in Middle East. In a perpetual state of war Israel has found her eternal survival for existence and turning her self into some invincible state relying heavily on its armed forces and at the same time denying any development in her neighbour hood that it finds may challenge her in any way.

There no match what so ever of a Palestinian juvenile with just a sling shot and the Israeli Markava tanks with the Apache helicopter cover over head charging the built up area of innocent defenceless Gazan inhabitants who had already are burnt alive with a heavy softening up pounding of Artillery phosphorous and ancillary shelling.

Israeli might have forgotten the act of slaying Goliath and —David shot sling but this land has not. Israel has become the mother board of all the acts of terrorism in the world especially in the Muslim world. You just take Israel out of the equation of Terrorism; truly—one finds that it is all a peace and a state of Honky Dory in the Middle East.

Why Israel elects to be so atrocious; and what about the master verdict of Justice; the absolute Justice given in the Jewish book of Torah; Eye for Eye and Tooth for a Tooth. Every spillage of blood; every drop will have to be paid back in full and in kind.

What happens when this power of invincibility is withdrawn from Israel and God in turns bestowed it to Palestinian; because God Almighty has created a balanced order? Surely; God keeps on rotating the time upon peoples.

Israel must care for the well being of her future generations. You sow wind and get only the whirlwind.

God Bless.

[1] Thanklessly Israelis call it home coming.

Democracy is based on the ideal of free speech, even if
that speech shows “disloyalty” to the state.
How in the world are the neo-conservative Israeli terrorists justifying the comments that they are now seeking the removal of Israeli-Arabs from their rightful place in the Parliament of their own country?
Has Israel now become a fascist state? that demands loyalty oaths from every person, either Jewish or Arab?
Will the government exile those people, who do not agree with the actions of the terrorist government?
Will they exile Jews as well as Arabs, for the sole reason of not saying the “loyalty oath?”
*****************************************************
I have every reason to believe that every one of these questions will be answered in the affirmative.
The government of Israel, as well as the government of the United States, has become fascist in their thinking and actions. These two rogue countries, disregard the world’s voice in the ongoing conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis, they do not pay heed to the logical reasoning that violence only makes more violence and that committing acts of genocide, will only make Hamas stronger and that more
recruits for the cause of the liberation of the Palestinian homeland and the destruction of the Jewish State, will become that much more of a goal in
the eyes of the Palestinians.
For the Israeli democracy to continue as a democratic
republic, they must not silence the voices critical to the actions being taken by the government right now and in the future.  If they do, then Israel will no longer be the friend of the US and they will be an
authoritarian state that denies its citizens the right and privilege to voice dissent against the governmental polices that are disagreeable to those who believe that violence is not the way to win the hearts and minds of those with whom we have an outstanding problem and long-standing disagreement.
It is now a possibility that Israel, hat in hand will
come to the US begging for more weapons and greater support for the genocidal actions that they and the US are committing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.  Should this happen, and should the Israeli government decide that Israeli-Arabs are not allowed to run for seats in the Knesset, then there should be
a cessation of support for the Israeli government.
I, firmly believe that if the genocide continues that
as a nation, that supposedly follows the rule of law,
we are bound by that rule of law, to discontinue the support given to the government of Israel. But continue the humanitarian aid, both to Israel and the
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Faced with these troubling complications, we must as a nation, demand of our legislators that support for Israel, stop, and that the weapons of mass destruction that we are currently giving Israel, cease to be given and that we as a nation commit ourselves to the cause of peace in the Middle East.
Without the weaponry that we are currently giving the
Israelis, they would be forced to return to the table
of peace and without dissimulation, make a lasting peace bond between themselves and the Palestinian people. We are duty bound by the rule of International Law to do this very thing, yet I despair, for the new administration shows no signs of
changing the policies which have continued these atrocities and genocide of the Palestinian people.
We must now, demand these changes of our government, or we will have the blood of innocent men, women and children on our own hands.
I, for one, do not accept that this conflict has to continue, there is a way to make a lasting peace occur, should this not happen and the policies of the
past continue, then we are all doomed to the pits of hell for the backing of a rogue state that is committed to the genocide of a whole race of people.
