Bush Gears Up for Farewell SpeechPosted on Jan 12, 2009
Although it may seem like ages since the election made it official, President Bush really is leaving the White House, and he’s preparing to say goodbye to the American people in a televised speech on Thursday. Judging from this Fox News report, Bush is striking a defiant pose to the end.

Dave24: Bush said his top priority when he became president in a July 2000 newscast, was war with Iraq, America and it’s concerns were at the bottom of his list. Well he managed to steal the presidency with the help of others and he did keep those promises on those 2 points.
Also, over 10 years ago, Dick Cheney was planning war with Iraq while he was V.P. for Georgie’s daddy. So it seems that no matter the truth was, the Republicans were hellbent on war with Iraq, regardless what the American people and the rest of the world said. Those who were more level-headed and looked at the facts(reality) knew that war is not the first and only answer to solve a problem with another country, except for George and Dick and their other friends with warmonger mentalities. And to think, none of these idiots who decided to start this war ever had any actual war experience themselves.

When Bush talks about the way in which history will judge his decisions, everyone should realize what the president is doing: he’s giving himself a second chance.
He knows that based on current perception, he’s arguably one of the worst public servants in US history.
But by extending judgement into the future based on the outcome of Iraq, assuming the region maintains a stable democracy, Bush believes that he will be vindicated.
The problem with this (mixed in with countless others, obviously) is two-fold: 1) Any future success cannot possibly be attributed to him, for those successes would be attributable to those in office at the time; and 2) The question remains: Was the risk of occupying Iraq, worth it?
The answer to the second question, it seems, is absolutely not. War with Iraq was inevitable, based on the actions of Saddam Hussein (Christopher Hitchens presents a viable argument for this); however, the motivation for war at that point in time was tied with 9/11, with which Iraq was a nonplayer.
Even if Iraq pulls through in future decades, was it worth jeopardizing the region, straining our military, eroding civil liberties, mongering fear, etc., etc., etc.?
Bush made vulnerable the reputation of the United States, and the only thing he can do is attempt to usurp future undeserved credit.
I hope this transparent attempt is shut down by future generations, much like the shutdown occurring in the present.

In his last whitehouse press conference, it was so good of georgey bush to admit to his excessive use of rhetoric during his tenure, rather than sticking with the matters-of-fact. In govenment circles, the excuse “it was a simple human error” is even older than “I don’t recall”. Good riddance georgey bush, your “regrets” will no doubt be with america for a long time. Thanks for nothing.

First of all, w & penis have until at least Monday morning, week from now, to have another attack on america unless they decide to claim the current freezing weather a natural disaster whereby they void the election and take dictatorial control. But it is a beautiful thing to think they will at least not be the unlawful heads of america anymore.
Report thisAnd if anyone saw the ‘last w press conference’ this morning(check it out on c-span if not) then there could be nothing but relief not just for this country but for the world that this retard will most likely give up the presidency and penis gives up the vp. I mean, w really is a disillutioned sad case for what he had to say in this press conference and its makes for a real case as to how he was allowed to remain in office for the full 2 appointed and stolen terms. I hate, I repeat, I HATE NANCY PELOSI!!!!! Anyone of sanity that would have had a presidency such as w & penis’ would eventually hit a high moral point where they would just put a bullet in their brain and in pelosi’s case, for saving them from prosecution of their crimes she would have at least eaten a bottle of pain killers and drank a bottle of whiskey.
