State Department Scolds Diplomats for Poor E-Mail EtiquettePosted on Jan 11, 2009
A recent spate of mass e-mails nearly crippled the State Department’s communications and generated a terse cable—sent out to all employees, of course—threatening disciplinary action if diplomats and others don’t cut it out. The note blamed abuse of the “reply all” button for the “e-mail storm.”

Did I miss something? What caused this scolding and threat of disciplinary action. Something Juicy or Revealing? And what else are they fearful of ‘leaking’ out?

“Please ensure widest distribution of this message”, under secretary of state. As history has already proven many times and again, the same perpetrators responsible for creating the problems are the same ones pitching their sales to do the cleaning-up, to be this great Panacea.
