Last time he came knocking at the Capitol, the Senate sent Roland Burris away empty-handed. But now that the Illinois secretary of state has ended his protest and signed the relevant paperwork, Burris is hoping his next visit has a happier ending.


Reuters:

Burris told CBS’ “Face the Nation” that his lawyers will be in the U.S. capital on Monday to meet the Senate parliamentarian, adding that he would follow them to Washington “in a day or two.”

“It is our position that we have done everything that’s required and that, yes, I should be seated and I should be seated forthwith and I should be seated prior to the inauguration of our—our 44th president,” Burris said.

It has been obvious that neither Blogovich nor Burris care about what the people of Illinois want.  Rather they are interested only in what serves themselves.  And now it is clear that none of our elected officials care about what the people of Illinois want either.  The arrogance is astounding!

Let’s remember this in the next election and vote against everyone who turned a deaf ear to the voice of the people of Illinois.

Mr.Burris should have his name put in to the hat with all other eligible candidates…Then ALL the candidates merits/flaws should be debated.When THE PROCESS-which is a legal proceeding-is over-HOPEFULLY the BEST PERSON will be chosen for the job….If I were Mr.Burris-I would think TWICE[at least] before ACCEPTING “pretty boy blagos” PATRONAGE…..
