The Paris Hilton of conservative politics is back and more preposterous than ever. Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher is headed to the Middle East to report on the war in Gaza for Pajamas Media. But isn’t that dangerous? Not to worry, says Joe: “Being a Christian I’m pretty well protected by God, I believe.”

Someone needs to break it to Joe that the contract on his 15 min of fame has expired… time for Joe to start plunging toilets again.
Why does this guy even have a publicist? What next a talk show? Reality TV? One can only hope that he gets to test his theory on God protecting him.

I have a suspicion that Joe won’t like Israel or the Israelis. About 1/2 of them stem from Arab countries and are not very different in looks and manners. The others are rather assimilated to Middle Eastern ways, too.
Of course, they are not Xtns. Generally, they are as irreligious as can be, far more than Americans. But they don’t think highly of US type born-agains. Certainly they have no use for fantasies about the Rapture, the Third Temple, the Second Coming of Jesus….
Joe may come back a convert to anti-Zionism! Not that he will do anything practical to help the Palestinians,either. Probably he’ll become a professional China-hater. Lots of money there, potentially.

“being a christian i am pretty much protected by god”.. we sure need some reporting from there, and everyone else who tries either gets shot (obviously not christian) or has that annoying problem of no electricity, water etc. (ditto)

While already “kindly” providing heavily biased press coverage on the side israel. I come to expect nothing less from the US media than sending an unqualified, already ridiculed, public joke to cover what is a such serious and tradgic conflict in which hundereds of innocent people, including hundereds of children have already died.
