 Pelosi Gets Tough With RahmboPosted on Dec 16, 2008
When he selected Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff, Barack Obama acknowledged that he was looking for a bad cop, but Nancy Pelosi refuses to be bullied. A former mentor of sorts to Emanuel, the House speaker is “laying down the law,” according to the Politico.

Pelosi is a simple organism and there’s no surprise here.
Nancy Pelosi didn’t let the law, or morality, or tens of millions of people who trusted her, or even the tide of history bully her into disrupting her Speakership conceit with an inconvenient imperative to impeach the likely criminal president and obviously criminal vice president, so why would anyone imagine party unity might affect her now?
For Pelosi the Speakership has always been about fulfilling her political dream of wielding the power - a very specific picture she has of matching the men at their own game, which means she must have an equivalent historical opportunity such that she cannot become exposed to any charge that hers was any more or less a tenure than that of her predecessors.
And since she didn’t get the unruffled history, or parity, she wanted, needed and imagined for herself, she manufactured it, and continues to manufacture it in her head.
Impeachment would have branded her tenure with controversy and rendered it a singular Speakership, something unique in history, not comparable and thus to be found plainly equal to the men’s Speakerships.
Acquiescing all too readily to Obama’s people leaves her exposed to the idea that she didn’t guard the borders of her domain with the same vociferous rigor of the men’s Speakerships - as she imagines them.
So we have something suggestive of a female equivalent to Clarence Thomas, the black man consumed by his ideas of blackness and what it means to others, warping his motive, affecting all his actions: a woman consumed by ideas of women in power and what it means to others, warping her motive, affecting all her actions.
Stopping the Bush administration out of control and correcting the nation’s wrong turn into ruinous war, or averting the impending Depression by effectively bring the Democratic party’s unified power to bear - it all is forced to yeild to Pelosi’s ego.

Want a sure fire indicator of what this adminstration will be like in a short time? Keep an eye on how obama treats this traitor(tom pelosi)and her senate partner in crime, harry reid. If those 2 begin and continue to dictate obama’s presidency and continually obstruct what both of them don’t want, then there will be problems galore and this country will still be the oligarchy the corporations have made it. If obama and staff come up with the ideal way of putting traitors pelosi and reid in their place, things would have a better chance of getting better. Just don’t confuse the issue of ‘things will get better’ with a light switch because the neocon’s agendas of the last several decades has done as masterful a job of tearing this country apart that I believe that a total people’s revolution may be the only real way out of it but that would require that the security forces(police, military, fbi, cia) would have enough people that understood the need and would help and not continue what has been set up to quickly squash any type of revolt.

As a Life Long Dem I’m not sure who I hate more, The Pelosi crowd or the supposed Ex Clintonites (DLC’ers). I swear there are only MAYBE 10 Real Dems left in elected Office and 5 True Republicans ...the rest are just Lobbyists for one Corp or another- Kellogg vs Post, Same Damn flakes, different colored packaging.
What does she think Now she has a Mandate? If it weren’t for Obama the Dem party would be in th esame shit hole the Repugs are.
Frankly I think Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer and dozens of other so called Dems should be strung up with this Corrupt Admin….Enablers, accomplices.
Pelosi and the rest of the SOB’s who’ve let this Admin destroy our country had better have a card up their sleeve to bring all Bushies to Justice after 1-20-09. Those articles of Impeachment better be converted to Charges of High Crimes.
If Pelosi and the Rest of the benefactors of Bush hatred, think they are getting a ‘pass’ on their appeasment over the last 8 (40) yrs, they are sorely mistaken.
Our Good Will is Towards Pres elect Obama, Not towards the Dems who’ve been in Congress throughout this Treasonous Adminstration and Done NOTHING but help push their agenda through resistance free.
Damn I hate Pelosi, as a Democrat, as an American and As a Woman-she’ been a disgrace.

Rep. Pelosi and Senator Reid should be removed from the leadership positions they hold. Both have been in-effective and to my mind are subserviant to AIPAC.
President Obama is going to need all of us to pull together in-order to get ourselves out of the mess we are in and both Nancy and Harry have been abysmal failures and should get out of the way or be pushed out, period…

Nancy is living proof that the myth about women making better governors is just that, a myth. Promising that the Demowon’ts would stop the Iraq War if they got control, Pelosi, upon winning that control announces that impeachemnt is off the table and their agenda for the first hundrend hours is to raise the federal minimum wage and to make more money available for college loans. Something they did not achieve. She has quashed every attempt to hold herr shrub and darth accountable and she has chastise and censured every one who has spoken out against her or the administration.
Both Pelosi and Feinstein should be ashamed of themselves but they have no honor or integrity.
As Greenwald recently pointed out on Bill Moyer’s Journal, investigating Bush and company for crimes would lead to many of the Demowon’ts leadership and complicity of the crimes commited. Demowon’ts were there and agreed when torture, rendition, imprisonment, wiretapping and all the other attendant crimes were committed. Pelosi has done a good job of helping keep the lid on all this. Obama has stated that he has no interest in investigating anyone for possible criminal prosecution, echoing Pelosi’s poor excuse that now is not the time for revenge. But we don’t want revenge, we want justice!
Ironic that these people pass draconian laws, not wanting to appear soft on crime, to the point that the US has a higher percentage, and a larger number of people in prison than any other country in the world and yet hardly a week goes by without one of these people being indicted for some crime. And when they are convicted they get light sentences for cooperating with the government in helping apprehend more elected criminals. As Gil Scot-Heron said in a song a few decades back, ” brother man steals a hub cab, brother man has a dime bag, brother man does life or death or life in Attica, but the man who tried to steal America does life in San Clemente. Bush will move to a an American Palace in Dallas and Cheney will move to Dubai and Pelosi and the Demowon’t will keepdoing what Richard Nixon could not do.

Pelosi has lobbied the American people for and just given George Bush a 700 billion dollar do-as-you-will bailout, Bush, the treasonous mass murderer that has stolen trillions of dollars from the American people and waged a massive effort to deceive them, every word, every action, of Bush from day one being a lie and a crime. Has Nancy not betrayed the nation by so doing?
She campaigns saying let’s shut down the Bush war and as soon as she’s reelected stands behind Bush every step of the way funding him even more than he asks.
Pelosi, and all the others that dare to stand in the way of decency can and will be set aside by simply injecting truth into the situation. The president has great power to inform.
Unless Nancy Pelosi goes along with real change she should be stopped, we can’t afford to lose another four years of degenerate Bush troll policies.
We can’t also stand to lose power back to the Republicons because of misdeeds of Pelosi. That is her telling the American people one thing to be elected only to do another.
Pelosi and Obama both serve at the will of the American people who are fed up with the ridiculous criminal lunacy that has become the US government.
Pelosi and other blue dog democrats will be tossed out with the Republicon swine if they don’t straighten out quick. She’s gone from seeming to be a great congressperson to being a great game political player.

The Speaker is pathetic. She can’t say no to President Bush in any form, but she’s going to run President-elect Obama around in circles she draws?!?
She has no national political base. I wish voters in her district had elected someone else. Mr. Obama has more than 60 million people who thought he should lead the country.
When it comes to a show-down, Pelosi better get her head on straight - the country supports Obama - if she obstructs his agenda, she’ll become as relevant as Tom Delay
