North Korea Talks Fizzle

North Korea and the U.S. have agreed to the broad strokes of a nuclear disarmament deal, but hammering out the details is proving to be a monumental challenge. U.S. envoy Christopher Hill announced Thursday that talks were essentially on ice. It may or may not help that Kim Jong Il has been missing in action for months.

Hill said no date had been set yet for when the talks would resume.

“We didn’t try to set a date. I’m sure we could have but we did not try and set one. I think the issue is that we need to overcome some of the differences that stand between us and a finished protocol,” he said.

I hope that North Korean officials can convince the insane, anti-communist Americans to finally give up the nuclear weapons this government owns and send our harbored war criminals to the hague.
