Rice Sounds Positive Note After Pakistan Visit

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice shakes hands in Islamabad on Thursday with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice expressed confidence in the Pakistani government’s commitment to cracking down on terrorist groups operating within its borders after meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari and other Pakistani officials on Thursday.

AP via Google News:

“I found a Pakistani government that is focused on the threat and that understands its responsibilities to respond to terrorism and extremism wherever it is found,” Rice said following sessions with the country’s powerful army chief and civilian leaders.

The U.S. wants broader sharing of intelligence and a commitment by Pakistan to root out terror groups that have found a comfortable haven in the Muslim country. To stress that message and heighten pressure on Pakistan’s new civilian government, the administration sent both Rice and its top military officer to seek Pakistani aid in uncovering the origins of the Mumbai attack that India blames on Pakistani militants.

Rice was in Pakistan for only a few hours after expressing U.S. condolences in India for more than 170 deaths in Mumbai. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen met a day earlier with key Pakistani leaders.

The Americans carried a message both blunt and subtle: There’s no denying the Pakistani fingerprints in the coordinated attack on India’s financial capital Mumbai, and the terrorist threat could just as easily be turned inward.

“There is a lot of information about what happened,” Rice told reporters at the conclusion of her visit, “a lot of information.”

A khokar is quite right.  This Mumbai massacre is entirely against the interests of Pakistan.  It appears to be a false flag operation like 9/11 to force Pakistan to do the will of the US and India right.

Of course, only hours after their meeting, a major terrorist attack in Peshawar killed at least 18 people:

Reportedly Lashker e Tayiba is an old by gone organization which used to operate in the past in Kashmir like any other organization that India would have to counter it. Talking of just Lashker e Tayiba will be living in the past when U.S. with her hegemonic designs were not here knocking at subcontinent western doors along Hindu Kush mountains and moving down the Khyber pass, the gate way to India. Scenario have since changed and if Kashmir was the motive for the Mumbai attacks, why were the targets hotels and restaurants frequented by Western tourists, and also the area where prosperous Indians reside, and a Lubavitch Hasidic Jewish center—an outpost of mainly American and Israeli Jews? None of them have anything to do with Kashmir.

It is reported by CNN quoting CIA officials that Last week’s attacks in Mumbai, India, were carried out by the same group responsible for two previous attacks in India; of Samjuhta Express massacre and killing of dozens of Muslims known as Malegaon bomb blast. Various serving as well as retired Hindu military officers are held responsible for carrying out the carnage as well as organizing the training for the Hindu extremists. Threats and warnings are being exchanged by India and Pakistan about the attack on Mumbai, carried out by presumed Muslim extremists. But terrorist were acting to what purpose, and under whose instructions?

Pakistan has offered a full cooperation in the investigation in the Mumbai massacre. Pakistan has nothing to hide and that why they would do it?. It seems more likely to be the work of external forces, with internal complicity, which do not want peace between those two sister countries and sister communities. The plan is clearly to provoke a war between India. Where India is being recognized as the future super power in south Asia and Pakistan wants to detach it self from US murdering ventures.
