Obamas' fist bump

The fist bump heard ‘round the world: Michelle and Barack Obama celebrate his win as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in June.

The Associated Press delivered the sobering but inescapable news on Monday that the election of the nation’s first black president didn’t completely eradicate racism in America. Thanks, AP!

AP via Google News:

The day after Barack Obama was elected president, Kari Fulton heard a white colleague proclaim that racism in America is dead.

She cringed, worrying it might be a sign of flagging interest in the fight against discrimination.

“In reality, racism is still very much alive and well,” said Fulton, who graduated last year from Howard University, a historically black college in the nation’s capital.

Obama’s election has generated a euphoria among black Americans that is palpable. For some, the weight of history has finally been eased after generations of struggling for equality. But amid the postelection glow of racial harmony lurks a sobering fact: Racial disparities persist — in just about every measurable form — and they won’t simply melt away because the nation has a black president.

Obama ran on a racist platform, the racism now being directed at dark skinned Muslims under the War on Terrorism.  Instead of being conducted under a White face, is is being conducted by an Afro-American to better gain world acceptance.  Just as the lies justifiying the Iraqi war was told to the UN by Powell, and US racist policy is being implemented by Rice.

Just as the police state domesitic policies of the Obama against minorities will be led by Holder.

Oppressive racial minorities themsselves are often racist against other minorities, and this is encouraged by the powerful to divide and rule the population. It is often politic to have racial oppression operatively carried out by persons of that ethnic group, or other oppressed group.

And this headline just in: “2008 Election still not enough to squelch the cries of race whiners who see racist, white, oppressive conspiracies in all elements of society, despite massive gains by blacks.”

Here’s the bottom line: we have a class of people in this country - some white but mostly black - that are race traders.  They buy and sell in the currency of race (Cynthia McKinney, for example) and thus are constantly looking backwards, not forwards; they see no progress at all.  Any evidence that blacks are making progress, and indeed that our society bends over backwards to eliminate institutional discrimination, is ignored, derided or down-played.

The fact that we have a bi-racial president and black first lady is actually a threat to their livelihood (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton) and must either be ignored, or better - some other racial boogeyman must be developed to keep business alive.

So my prediction?  Look for racial outrages by Sharpton et al to be stepped up over the coming year so they can keep their business flowing…  Otherwise they’d have to get real jobs, and we can’t have that, now can we?

The media should announce Barack Obama’s election as the first bi-racial president and quit leaning only the african-american side.

Barack is only half black.

His mother’s race (white) is completely being ignored.

Still, racial barriers is just as strong in this ethnic minority as it is if all black.

It’ll be interesting to see if in the future a full blooded african-american will see the oval office as president.

How shocking AP! I had no idea, I thought it it was gone for good! /end sarcasm *sigh*

Very, very sadly it is still around. Though if someone needs the AP to tell them that, they seriously need help. I mean seriously.
