White House / Paul Morse

George W. Bush pardoned 14 criminals Monday, including a convicted violator of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Of the 14, 12 were from states that voted for the president in 2004. Most had been convicted of drug-related crimes.

Bush also commuted the prison sentences of two men convicted of cocaine offenses.

AP via Google:

President George W. Bush has granted pardons to 14 individuals and commuted the prison sentences of two others convicted of misdeeds ranging from drug offenses to tax evasion, from wildlife violations to bank embezzlement, The Associated Press learned Monday.

The new round of White House pardons are Bush’s first since March and come less than two months before he will end his presidency. The crimes committed by those on the list also include offenses involving hazardous waste, food stamps, and the theft of government property.

Maybe Bush pardoned the cocaine-related felons out of personal empathetic guilt…LOL.

I agree, Bush and company will go crazy with pardons including themselves.  As for Clinton and the FALN “terrorists.”  Yes Clinton did pardon certain members of that group, but no one who had blood on their hands.

Bush still hasn’t made a pardon as onerous as Clinton’s pardon of the FALN terrorists who planted 86 bombs in and around New York City, killing 6 and wonding hundreds, some seriously. One man, a former Policeman was wounded so severly, he lost a leg and has been in a wheelchair for over 30 years.

Funny the press didn’t make too much of Clinton’s FALN pardon, prefering to focus on Marc Rich (who killed no one)
