Economics on the brain: Barack Obama talked about the economy once again during his weekly YouTube address on Nov. 21.

Congress is planning to give Barack Obama some serious motivation to jump right into the job on Inauguration Day, with two key lawmakers saying they plan to have a major economic stimulus package waiting for him on Jan. 20.

Bloomberg.com:

Senator Charles Schumer of New York said on ABC’s “This Week” program that the package will be between $500 billion and $700 billion. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, of Maryland, said on “Fox News Sunday” that he believed the Inauguration Day goal would be met, but he declined to put a price tag on the bill.

Let’s put solar energy receivers on every roof in America and plug in Hybrids in every garage. How many small businesses would that create? How many good paying jobs? how much would this raise the value of homes? How much extra money would the lower cost of energy put in family’s monthly budgets?  This would be a Simple Plan that could be started Jan. 21st. We have the PROVEN technology, many businesses are already in place and active. What stands in the way?...Coal companies, Railroad Companies, Oil companies ,Utility Companies, The Nuclear industry, Natural Gas industry, Maybe the Dept. of Defense. “Lawyers, Guns and Money"Etc.etc….............

This is good.

I hope he can do some behind-the-scenes work with the lawmakers leading up to inauguration day. That way the plan would have what he would like to see in it, instead of it being something that wasn’t pushing what he wanted all the way.

This is a step in the right direction however, hopefully anyway.
