McCain Insiders Paint a Not-So-Pretty Picture of Palin

On Wednesday, Fox News’ Carl Cameron kicked off a round of Republican in-fighting that had snowballed considerably by Wednesday, thanks to reports from unnamed McCain campaign informants about Sarah Palin’s alleged “diva”-like behavior. But the Thrilla From Wasilla still has her GOP allies, such as Rush Limbaugh, who waxed apoplectic about Cameron and the anti-Palin set during Thursday’s broadcast of his eponymous radio show.

Limbaugh wasn’t alone in taking umbrage at Fox News’ reports about Palin; online conservative forum Free Republic has started a thread urging members of the community to boycott the network.

ABC News:

Now that the defeated Republican presidential team of Sen. John McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have gone their separate ways, the knives are out and Palin is the one who is getting filleted.

But longtime Palin staffer Meg Stapleton is lashing back at anonymous critics within the McCain-Palin presidential campaign, telling ABC News they are attacking the former vice presidential candidate with distortions and blaming her for the Republican National Committee’s own missteps.

Revelations from anonymous critics from within the McCain-Palin campaign suggest a number of complaints about Palin.

Fox News reports that Palin didn’t know Africa was a continent and did not know the member nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement—the United States, Mexico and Canada—when she was picked for vice president.

The selection of Palin, within the McCain camp was at best controversial from the get-go.  Now that McCain has lost those who opposed Palin initially are venting though it appears much of the complaints are exaggerations.

Conservatives are sacepgoating Palin.

Whatever she is, she was a symptom, not the cause, of the McCain/GOP hopeless situation.

KDelphi:

I agree with you; the Republicans have NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL.  They’re passe. A dinosaur.  An anachronism.  There’s no place in a 21st century world for a 19th century club.

They don’t even have the intelligence to keep their infighting to themselves.  They’re eager to show the USA how totally disheveled they are.

Sarah Palin is political history, even if the evangelical right rolls back the stone from her tomb.  In this case, they’ll find the body.

The retarded, evil giant’s death wrails.

Yeah, Sarah is—-very uninformed. But she is NOT their main problem, and , I suspect, they know it. Their entire ideology has come crashing down. I hope the Dems will seize the moment.

But dont misunderestimate their strategery. We could get fooled once or get fooled again!

Remember, you thought W was stupid , until he got everything he ( and his cronies) wanted, with our permission. Look for Palin to be the new “martyr to the religious Right” which has no cause without a martyr.
