Karl Rove

Bush’s brain gets inside the minds of Obama campaign manager David Plouffe and strategist David Axelrod to explain the president-elect’s success: “Messrs. Plouffe and Axelrod understood that over the last 28 years only 11 of 20 eligible Americans on average cast a presidential ballot. They focused on registering and motivating the other nine who don’t usually vote.” Yes, he said “Messrs.”

(h/t Political Wire)

Karl Rove in the Wall Street Journal:

So the two Davids registered millions of voters in states the Obama campaign picked as battlegrounds, especially where there were many heretofore-disinterested African Americans and younger Democrats. Messrs. Plouffe and Axelrod understood that over the last 28 years only 11 of 20 eligible Americans on average cast a presidential ballot. They focused on registering and motivating the other nine who don’t usually vote. This decision, perhaps more than any other, allowed Mr. Obama to win such previously red states as Virginia, Indiana, Colorado and Nevada. It forced Mr. McCain to spend most of the fall on defense, unable to take once-reliably Republican states for granted.

cann4ing—do you have information about the new JD that others dont?(Will it be new?) I am just asking. Call it justice (not revenge), but, if that is the case—it make my mouth water! I guess I’m horrible. No, wait—-Bush & Co are horrible.

I just hate to see the basterds get away with it.

Yeah, thanks for the praise Karl, but don’t think for a moment that once your protectors, George Bush, Dick Cheney and Michael Mukasey, leave office, a professional Justice Department will not pursue contempt of Congress citations for your refusal to abide with subpoenas.

What I read was a technician appraising and appreciating a master performance in that technician’s profession.  In someplace like Ecuador or Paraguay Rove may well partner with someone like James Carville.  Where the substance of the politics don’t matter to two technicians they can easily work together.

OTOH, Rove couldn’t resist a few digs.

He’ll never go to jail. On Jan 19th Bush will issue blanket pardons to everyone like Rove, and Rove will be included.

These are all excellent comments. However, I can not tell if they support the analysis?

White collar criminals often rehabilitate themselves by sucking up to the powers that be.  Rove will probably get a job in the Obama administration.

Look, shouldn’t Rove’s fat ass be in prison by now? When is Rove going to jail?
