Bolivian President Evo Morales on Saturday made another move to signal his administration’s displeasure with the United States, announcing that he is “indefinitely” halting all activities of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency within his country.

BBC:

“From today all the activities of the US DEA are suspended indefinitely,” the Bolivian leader said in the coca-growing region of Chimore, in the central province of Chapare.

“Personnel from the DEA supported activities of the unsuccessful coup d’etat in Bolivia,” he added, referring to the unrest in September which left 19 people dead.

“We have the obligation to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the Bolivian people.”

US officials have denied any wrongdoing.

In recent months, a string of tit-for-tat expulsions of diplomats and agencies increased tensions between both countries, the BBC’s Andres Schipani reports from Bolivia.

Bolivia is one of the poorest nation of this Continent. Most population is either indigenous or mixed. There is a part, the so called Media Luna, or Half Moon, that is mostly European white. They control the economy.
The rest of the country is almost starving. The poor Indian has to grow coke for cocaine dealers. They pay them a misery and resell the drug in the States. Just recently a gang of drug dealers was dismantled in Mexico. The photos showed a mansion with swimming pool and a zoo of exotic animals.
Evo Morales wants better wages, health care, and education for everybody. Drug dealers and their Bolivian wealthy friends do not want this. It can mean the end of cocaine exportation.

Americans, just stop buying cocaine and all this problem will be resolved. That is the problem. Too many Americans use cocaine. If you want cocaine they will be growing coke for the Americans. They will please you. Coke in those countries is a cultural tradition. They do not take it refined as cocaine but as a leaf. They either chew it or make a tea.

Of all the Latin America stories you choose to draw attention to, somehow you never manage to disappoint me. Not a peep about the fascist separatist movement, the constitutional triumph, etc.  Just this war on drugs garbage.  Exactly what headlines are you “drilling” under?

Me thinks that the reason America is no longer respected in Latin America is because of the use of agencys such as the DEA, Peace Corp and a host of others to infltrate a Government for the purpose of destableization in-order to establish a Government more friendly to Corprate America. Countries around the world and especialy those in Latin America are getting wise to the devious methods of American Administrations past and present that are joined at the hip to corprate agenda’s. Democracy and Sovereignty be danmed..

Very Good for Mr. Morales wink
It’s about time that USA stops making cash from illegal drug money which they sponsor and control in every country they impose their financial and or military tyranny. Hope they are booted out of Mexico, Afghanistan, Columbia and many others as well.
