Sarah Palin’s relationship with the press has been like that of a deer to high-beams, but it’s not for lack of practice. According to an Associated Press count, Palin clocked more than 300 interviews and news conferences in just 20 months as governor.

That’s hardly what you would expect from the woman who created shockwaves last week by actually answering reporters’ questions on her campaign plane.

AP via Google:

Palin cultivated interviews with local and national journalists and welcomed them from as far away as London, earning time in the spotlight even before Republican presidential candidate John McCain selected her as his running mate.

That contrasts with the restricted access the McCain team imposed after Palin joined the GOP ticket, and the tone of the campaign’s current criticism of the media, which is feeding anger among her supporters. People at a Wisconsin rally last week glared at reporters, and one woman called them “a bunch of leftists.” Another made an obscene gesture.

Yet in 20 months as governor before McCain tapped her, Palin scheduled more than 300 interviews and press conferences, according to an Associated Press review of her official daily calendar. Among them, local TV reporter Bill McAllister of KTUU interviewed her on numerous occasions before he went to work for her as press secretary in August.

nrobi:Perhaps Sarah was one of those students we all have known. The ones who never actually did any of the studying, test taking and actual work for her degree, she did it with the old “sex for an A” method.

BTW, does she suffer from some type of affliction? She looks to be suffering terribly in this picture. Could be a cranial rupture trying to think of an answer which causes her face to screw to so grotesquely.
Nothing cute or sexy looking there as so many men are claiming about her winking, it should make then turn tail and run if anything. Already for Halloween Scary Sarah?

All this happened in a previous life. Since the handlers of the McCain campaign have gotten ahold of Ms. Palin, she has been unavailable to the press, and the fiasco with Katie Couric, has now made it impossible to have any type of extended interview with the person who is a heartbeat away from the presidency.
My guess is that Ms. Palin, is doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing, being a pit-bull with lipstick and the attack dog for the McCain campaign that had promised to run a clean campaign without the personal attacks that have now run rampant in the race to win this election.
Should the “future” V.P. ever open her mouth again like she did with Katie Couric, we, the electorate would surely not vote for this ticket because of the total lack of knowledge and more importantly the elitist view of the world that Ms. Palin, has due to her “faith” and more importantly due to the total lack of understanding that Ms. Palin, has regarding the world stage and the events that are shaping the economy now.
Ms. Palin, may have a college degree, but she surely did not earn the knowledge and foresight that goes along with a degree in journalism.

Why would this be consitered a surprise? The one constant in the life of an aging beauty queen is the need to continue to be the center of attention where ever she is at the time. Even if it means throwing your skirt up over your head.
