Palin Goes On the AttackPosted on Oct 4, 2008
Sarah Palin went into negative campaigning mode on Saturday during a speech in Colorado, apparently attempting to forge associations in voters’ minds between the name Barack Obama and the word terrorist, thus indicating that the McCain campaign is ready to hit the mat—or the muck—during the last four weeks before the election.

29 days to go until the election and Obama is leading both national polls and in 3 key battleground states. The McCain campaign is now growing desperate, and as one of his campaign aides told the press this week (anonymously) they are going to fall back on swiftboat-style attack ads to attempt a character assassination of Obama. I don’t think most independent voters have the stomach for that anymore, and I think it will backfire.
Barring a turnaround in the polls for McCain as a result of the new attack ad campaign, the only remaining tactic for the most rabid of the anti-Obama crowd will be tactics against traditionally-democratic voters on election day. I expect an effort to block poor minority voters with every available rule and loophole available, and by various unlawful means like intimidation efforts that we saw in the two recent elections. I do not think McCain himself would condone unlawful behavior, but I have no doubts that there are many in the fringes of the right who would do it without hesitation, because a mixed-race candidate like Obama reaching the White House is akin to the End of Days in their warped minds.
The media and ordinary people will need to be more vigilant than ever with fact-checking the smear ads to come, and in watching for election day voter disqualification and fraud efforts.

Why is it when our National ‘Free Press’ attempts to explain a situation accurately they are Prohibited from Rhetorical Accuracy, yet those who Work for US in gov’t Do Not?
Report thisCome On Only since Rachal Maddow finally broke the code of silence on the term “LIE” about 6 weeks ago did the Welled up abandoned Word get it’s justified Release.
This is not just a matter of an Ill Impression, nor even the destruction of A persons reputation….Such blatantly lies when addressing the ‘Bosses’ of this Country should hold severe Penalities. Nothing is more Sacred to Our Democratic Process than accurate information being provided to the Voters. Intentional Lies should be considered Attempts to Undermine the Democratic Process, Esp Lies which invoke Gutteral Responses Like the Innuendo of ‘Terrorist ’ connections or sympathies.
Frankly at such a high level and with such massive reprocussions such misrepresentations shouldn’t be grounds for Slander charges..they should be grounds for TREASON.Much Like McCains LIE about where tthe Anthrax originated From which led to the acceptance of the Citizens of an Illegal Invasion into a M.E. Country..Endangering our troops, our economy and our citizens security throughout the World.
If our Country is handed back over to this CheneyCorp regime on a LIE like Obama is a Muslim Extremeist Terrorist, then those who generated this falsified information and Deceitful representation, should be considered TRAITORS to the very Foundation of Our Democratic Society.
In a Democratic Society you have the Right to be uninformed and Refuse to participate. However When you choose to actively participate in Our Democracy, it is the REQUIREMENT Of ALL those who WORK for US to provide accurate and Updated informtion AT ALL TIMES! anything less is doing a DISSERVICE to the Very Foundation to OUR Society, Country , Her Citizens and Her Future! I consider THAT a HIGH CRIME!

It seems Palin forgets…every time you point the finger at someone, there are four more pointing back at you. It isn’t yet a month ago I posted this in response to another article, but it seems to apply just as aptly here.
“In another post “thebeerdoctor” (thanks) left this link. It is telling of Sarah Palin’s philosophy. She’s got that “loyalty” thing going on. Check out these excerpts:
“Her first months were so contentious and polarizing that critics started talking recall.
Her first months also EXPOSED THREADS THAT WOULD LATER BECOME PATTERNS friends become enemies, enemies become friends and questions get raised about why she fired this person or that person.
But the situation calmed, and rather than being recalled, Palin was re-elected.”
>> (Well…who would’ve guessed..?)
And then: “Ten days later, Palin wrote to all the department heads, including Stambaugh, asking for letters of resignation. She said she would then decide which to accept. When Stambaugh declined to provide one pointing to his contract Palin replied in a letter: “I WILL EXPECT YOUR LOYALTY.”
It continues: “Stambaugh kept the reports coming. But on Jan. 30, he was on the phone with the town’s librarian who said she’d just been fired when an assistant of Palin’s walked up and gave Stambaugh an envelope. Inside was a letter from Palin, saying Stambaugh, too, was fired.
“I do not feel I have YOUR FULL SUPPORT in my efforts to govern the City of Wasilla,” she wrote.”
And this: “She wrote: “You know when you have SOMEONE’S FULL SUPPORT, and you know when you do not.”
Stambaugh sued Palin and the city, saying he had been wrongfully fired.”
Then: “After notifying the librarian that she was fired, Palin backtracked and decided to keep her on. Palin had twice asked this librarian what she thought about BANNING BOOKS, to which the librarian responded it was a lousy idea, one she wouldn’t go along with. Later, Palin told the local paper that any questions she’d raised about CENSORSHIP were only “rhetorical.”
Palin put in place what THE LOCAL PAPER CALLED A GAG ORDER, prohibiting top city employees from talking to reporters unless she cleared it first.”
(All emphasis mine) Check out this article, if you haven’t already done so….it’s interesting… In addition, I still find it odd that supposedly she’s just been sitting there in little ol’ Wasilla all along. Just like Cheney, out there in nowheresville Wyoming… anyone see a pattern…? And let’s not forget ol’ Bill out there in Little Rock.”

Desperate times call for desperate measures. And things are desperate in McCain Palin land. So if they cannot rule America, they will make it so Obama cannot govern. This is the Rovian equivalent of a scorched earth policy.

I don’t see anything racist about Palin’s trying to connect Obama to terrorism. It’s just a lot of stupid, though.
Still, all the signs are there that there is a good chance that Palin is a racist, to me at least:
- she grew up in a nearly all-white small town
- the us vs. them mentality and fervent provincial pride
The main evidence is the local pride in calling themselves rednecks. She named her consulting company “Rouge Cou”, which translates to redneck. Her daughter’s boyfriend’s myspace page proudly proclaimed he’s a f-ing redneck. So, what’s the big deal? Ask yourself, can an African-American person be a redneck? No. Can a Latino person be a redneck? No. Can an Asian person be a redneck? Of course not. How about an Eskimo or Native American? No, and Todd doesn’t count because he looks as redneck as can be. Rednecks are an exclusive group based on ethnicity. When you show pride in being a redneck, you show pride in being white and traditional and perhaps anti-intellectual. What’s wrong with a pride in your heritage? Nothing, when I think about it objectively. Yet something about yelling it out in certain ways seem disturbing.
Because if there is just a sprinkle of bigotry and ignorance, it’s a shout of racial superiority: “white pride!” (moreso than economic class pride)
If Wasilla was transplanted to Germany in the late 30’s - early 40’s… oh nevermind, that is going too far. It just wouldn’t surprise me at all if Palin holds racist core values.

McCain by his selection of this cartoon-like villain Palin has shown his willingness to make a deal with the devil. Anything to win is his/their new mantra.
Palin’s prom-puppet demeanor with winks and pageant waves is like the evil Chucky in drag—spewing vitriolic lies with a rhyming lilt. Expect worse from

I’m beginning to understand why Palin needed the services of that “witch doctor” in Wasilla. She’s must be the witch he was trying to “de-witch.” Unfortunately, his services didn’t work. Palin is still out there spewing lies and hate.
