Last spring, it seemed like tug of war over the Democratic presidential nomination would never end, but now that seems part of the distant past, as Barack Obama enters the final stretch leading to November’s election. Luckily, his relations with Bill Clinton appear to have improved over time, and the former president now says he’s willing to roll up his sleeves to help Obama’s campaign however he can.

Los Angeles Times:

At a lunch meeting today with Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton said he would do “a substantial number of things” to campaign for Obama this fall. Any bruised feelings from Obama’s primary campaign against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared to be in the past as the smiling Democratic presidential candidate and the former president talked to reporters outside Clinton’s Harlem office before the pair went inside for a private lunch.

Clinton said he would do “whatever I’m asked to do” for Obama.

It’s about time. . .where the hell have you been Bill?!  Get out there and save the day before all hell breaks loose.  If another election is stolen, we will have a revolution in this country. And it’s looking like McCain has pulled all the stops now that he has Carl Rove on his team; he has totally sold out.  Please do something!

If McSame/Failin win, we won’t have a country for Hillary to run in 2012.  It is just that important of an election.  The corporate media is trying to steal this one and cement it’s desire to convert our nation into a fascist state, armed with the most powerful weapons/nukes in the world

Meanwhile, climate change is rapidly moving forward as we squander our opportunities.  I feel I’ve woken up in a sci-fi horror movie!!!

I Held my nose when I voted for Gore
I Held My nose When I voted for Kerry
The Stench from the DLC’s Corp Whoring lingered around them.We watched you try to destroy Howard Dean.It wasn’t the Right Wing ‘Conspiracy’ it was the DLC/Clinton conspirators who sidelined Dean!
Have no doubt US Dems who have recognized the ‘beast’ within our own party did not miss the Significance of Teddy’s speech at the Convention. We did not Miss the Torch being Passed NOR the Gauntlet being thrown down at the fet of the DLC!
If the Clintonite DLC’s Clan does not get back on Board OUR Democratic platform, They will be run out like the Racist DixiCrats (Now called the ‘Religious Right’).
Did Ya Think We missed you new Oxymoron Con Job “Reagan Democrats”???? Fuck You, never Was and isn’t now any such beast.Dems hated Ronny, Union Buster? AIDS Denier? White Collar Crimes? Inner city Warfare?Out of control Military spending?Clarence Thomas? IRAN CONTRA!!!These so Called ‘Reagan Democrats’ AKA DLC - are nothing more than disaffected Republicans- wash overs from the Moral Majority Takeover!so Hillary Did You Ever REALLY Revoke your Republican membership Card?
Maybe it’s time the Clintons and the DLC sit down Shut Up and get the fuck out of the Way…The REAL Dems are Back in Force!Clift note for those who might be paying attention….Cliff Note-The Democratic Party’s mainstays are Labor and Equal Rights For ALL.It is NOT any form of ‘Shit Rolls Down Hill ‘Economic stratedgy. It is not trying to split up the Equal Rights movement by gender.
It is not supporting the overgrown Top section while digging from underneath the Supporting Sections.Yes Corps provide jobs for far more people in theory- but in Practice they also destroy more jobs in one fell Swoop- thus not effecting a few, but thousands at a time, Communities! This model Does NOT support the Free Market Ideology ( all your eggs are in One Basket). And those of the DLC helped stockpile that Basket to the point the bottom has finally fallen OUT!
The Rose Colored Glasses of the Clinton years have not just lost their tint, they have been smacked off our faces.
Note I am a 45 yr old blue collar, college Educated,  Life long Dem White Female who lives in ‘rural America’.Who was not just a support of Both Bill & Hill Throughout the ‘90’s- but an avid defender- My sicerest apologies to all those I argued with Over their level of ‘opportunistic’Ways. You were Right, I was Wrong. But at least Bill didn’t totally fuck this country up during his presidency- Bush voters need to Kiss up now Too!
So Clintons, Feinstein, Kerry,Gore ,Edwards, LIEberman, McAuliffe,Ford,Bayh,...We know Who & What you are- the Blue arm of the Corporatists (Neo Cons- Your ‘Third Way’ sounds exactly like HW’s “New World Order”) Who ahs helped kneecap Carters yrs, who has sidelined the ‘liberal lion’.Who tried to steal the ‘Torch’, The legacy…the same kind of Politicians who seized the Republican party by propping up the ‘Moral Majority’. Hillary YOU used the Women Movement like they Used and manipulated the Faithful! You tried to separate Women Rights from Equal rights. You Cried Foul over misrepresented and Fake Sexism. You Dared Use a Gutteral Response Event to scare people into voting for you- RFK 3 TIMES (sounded more like a Request). You endorsed a Republican Over a Democrat! If you were not following chapters out of the Neo Con handbook, then the DLC plagerized their own version!
Take heed Clintonites the Villagers are at the Gate and we are here to destroy the monster you have created, The DLC!

I am offended that on a day of rememberance and a day that politics were to be put aside, Obama decided to use that chance to meet with Clinton behind closed doors and discuss strategy while McCain was leading prayers with the families of victims. Obama used the day to get media attention and discuss politics. He has again proved that he only thinks of himself and puts his agenda first. Good job in proving that point.

Bill Clinton is more gracious than the commenter who sort of thanked him by dissing Hillary’s popularity. I think she might have won if all the votes were counted, and know for damn sure she had the whiteworkingclass in her pocket because she connected with them in a way Obama’s still struggling with. The Obama campaign might yet be saved the king of them all, Bill Clinton.

He knows and cares about white workingclass families thatObama’s apparent awkwardness with them. Obama and his campaigners, some on the thread here,  and Obama’s campaign champions reform but hikes its skirts and holds its nose, describing the very people they need to win as stupid, bitter, etc etc .

I hope that Bill brings some enthusiasm with him when he campaigns for Obama.
But forget about HRC’s chances in 2012.
Her campaign revealed many of her flaws as a leader and a manager. Most Americans didn’t like what they saw!
And thanks to their appalling behavior toward Obama in the primaries, both Clintons have lost much of the goodwill and support of the black community.A Democrat can’t win the White House without them!

H. Clinton’s campaign switched from experience to solutions.  I believe B. Clinton was behind the slogan.  He is a visionary and I believe that Obama is a visionary as well.
On Palin and her comments on Russia.  She will say what she has been told to say. That’s it!!!! And no more.

Less than enthusiastic.  Doesn’t Hillary have a better shot at the WH in 2012 if Obama doesn’t make it in 08?
