United front: Schlafly, left, and Ingraham spoke up in Palin’s absence at the RNC.

It was a lineup designed to bring women at the Republican National Convention ever forward and onward into the year 1800, but alas, Sarah Palin couldn’t make it. Undeterred in their cause, conservative stalwart Phyllis Schlafly and radio host Laura Ingraham soldiered on, stirring up fellow She-publicans at their joint appearance Tuesday at the RNC.

The New York Times:

Mrs. Schlafly said that Ms. Palin had committed to be the keynote speaker here before she knew she would be nominated for vice president, and now she has to focus on her big speech for tomorrow night.

The event went ahead anyway, and, as Mrs. Schlafly began speaking, a protest erupted, with a demonstrator coming on the stage with a sign, which we couldn’t quite see. Mrs. Schlafly took the sign and ripped it up as security guards removed the young woman. Then the audience broke out into “God Bless America.”

Mrs. Schlafly then introduced a “surprise” guest, Laura Ingraham, the conservative radio talk-show host, who launched a blistering attack against the “elite” media and others who, she said, were unfairly attacking Ms. Palin.

Ms. Ingraham gave a spirited defense of Ms. Palin and delivered the red meat that the audience of roughly 250 or 300 people here in a hotel ballroom seemed to crave. She said that the “entrenched elite”—and here she pointed to The New York Times and its three stories on today’s front page about Ms. Palin—opposed the governor “because of one issue—life.” There was big applause here.

Okay! Schafley! woooooooooooWAHAHAHAHA!

The ReThugniCons’ witches council has brought out its biggest gun! Schafley the Hund! That RNC panic has obviously reached Defcon 5, and the bespectacle MILF candidate hasn’t even addressed the smattering of reich members at this years NaziCon yet. And, the mental lightweight, Laura Ingram? WTF?! Is the world supposed to be frightened enough of these two overbearing Rethug gargoyles to mercifully back off SaraCuda the Candy Heiress, better known to the Dems as Biden’s naked noonday snack? Come on! Ol’ Phyliss is butt-ugly-hideous as a mud fence, but she’s not that scary. Seriously, her mug has yet to surpass Thor Johnson as the scariest Halloween mask of all time. And, most chicks can take that pinhead Ingram in a naked-fisted beat-down EASILY. No one is phased by the two of them.

Caribou Barbie, the Heath candy heiress, should have spent the last six years watering the tree of her politcal legacy if she had such lofty Washingtonian aspirations. That shruiveled up shrub is dead now! Coming out tonight cloaked defensively by the hag and the skag is going to do little to change Palin’s PISS-POOR political, professional, personal, or religous past, and less to protect her from the public that is most certainly going to pick her speech apart tonight. That pooch is irrevocably SCREWED!

Still, what better human shields than Schafley and Ingram if you know you’re going to be pelted with hard rocks and rancid garbage in a riotous ambush? WooHoo!

I cant stand Ingraham, but she has had breast cancer, OK? If THIS doesnt make lingering HIlary supporters turn off to Palin, they were never Dems anyway—not that that means much anymore.

•  “…and furthermore, Gov. Palin, will not be able to debate in any meaningful way with Sen. Joseph Biden, (D) Del. But what matters most of all is the showcase of idiotic and retro women who make up the Republican Women’s Caucus. To think that the likes of Phyllis Schlafly and Laura Ingraham, were the keynote speakers at this meeting, does my heart good…”

I dunno nrobi. This actually gives me a serious case of the heebeejeebies. It’s true that there can be no meaningful debate between Palin and Biden, because it would appear that she doesn’t KNOW anything. Yep how does he go about pointing that out, or otherwise making that clear, without it between twisted into him ‘picking on her’. Now that might be possible if Gwen Ifill is conducting/moderating the debate, (and it seems like I read somewhere that she would be) because she’s very professional, and that would allow the process to allow Palin to sink herself.

Meantime, Schafley??…Where the hell did SHE pop up from? What a nightmare. I didn’t even know she was still around. Seems like she ought to be in a rest home somewhere.

Seriously, these people scare the shit out of me, because there are too many whackos in the general population who actually pay attention to them.

Ingraham is quite jaundiced looking, and like Coulter, anorexic.  Hate has a detrimental affect on intestinal/digestive health.

Isn’t Schlafly the hypocrite nut who believes women should not have careers, while she herself has one?

Imagine ingraham invoking distain for the media, we are talking the CONSERVATIVE corporate media that hardly ever lets any thing other than a conservative point of view get to the people. What a twit.
And the protester walking on stage with a sign, another conservative neocon trick. If a. goodman is arrested for nothing outside, how do you suppose someone could get inside with sign AND get on stage. It had to be a republican trick or the ‘protester’ was older than schlafly because she looks too old to get excited enough to do anything so ‘bold’.

Here is an item from msnbc about w’s team will start coaching, handling and teaching palin about her Oct. 2 debate. I guess the repubs are serious about keeping her on the ticket. Sure makes me wonder what it is all about but don’t be surprised if she has that magic box afixed to her back that helped w so much against kerry, maybe in her bra.

Are Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter sisters?  They look an awful lot alike. And they try to think an awful lot alike.

And the other one, Schlafly, just awful - please!

Great expectations, every bodies watching you. This is a line from a song by the Eagles, the song, “Johnny Come Lately.”
If the American people haven’t already figured out, this is about to be the “disaster,” that sinks the Republican party. Or, if you prefer the Grand Orgy Party. Because the sex lives of every American will be on display, but the Repugs, will not want their lives to reflect the wrong that they have done to America and the world.
Truthfully, the GOP, cannot field a candidate that is the match of Sen. Barack Hussein Obama, none of the candidates save Rep. Dr. Ron Paul, could have matched wits and wisdom with Sen. Obama, and furthermore, Gov. Palin, will not be able to debate in any meaningful way with Sen. Joseph Biden, (D) Del.
But what matters most of all is the showcase of idiotic and retro women who make up the Republican Women’s Caucus. To think that the likes of Phyllis Schlafly and Laura Ingraham, were the keynote speakers at this meeting, does my heart good. For between them they have the sense of half a brain, when it comes to matters of economics, foreign policy
and domestic policy including the teaching of “abstinence only,” sexual education, “scientific creationism,” and a host of other issues to numerous to mention.
What makes me laugh more than anything is the fact that if the Repugs, win in Nov. is the fact that we will be marching forward into the 19th Century in the areas of womens rights, foreign policy and the teaching of science. So much so that if a parent wanted to keep their children ahead of the curve in the area of science they would have to send their children abroad to get a real education.
Faith does not necessarily equate with true education and not even a remotely relevant education can be received if a child is only taught one way of thinking. We must remember that we are fighting against the most oppressive and repressive regimes and ideologues known to man at this time. Their ways are not the ways of the future and surely not conducive to freedom and the free thinking that it will take to save the world from certain and imminent destruction by those people who believe that G-d put man on the earth to “subdue and rule,” the world.
