Considering that she is the source of much of the McCain family fortune, it’s not surprising that Cindy McCain says she was offended by Barack Obama’s assessment that John McCain is out of touch with the middle class, as well as by the Obama campaign’s ads about the McCains’ multiple homes, but her protests do raise the question: Has she been watching her husband’s campaign ads?

ABC News:

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos reports: Democrats’ attacks on her family’s wealth are unfair and offensive, Cindy McCain said today in an interview airing tomorrow on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

For nearly two weeks, Democrats have repeatedly hit Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., for saying he is unaware of how many houses he owns, calling the presumptive Republican presidential nominee out of touch with everyday Americans.  In his acceptance speech at the Democratic convention on Thursday, Democratic nominee Barack Obama turned up the heat on McCain, saying he “doesn’t know” about the lives of middle-class Americans.

“I’m offended by Barack Obama saying that about my husband,” said McCain’s wife Cindy.

When asked if Obama went too far in his criticism of McCain, Cindy responded, “I do. I do. I really do.”

Cindy McCain’s offended by Obama’s comment about her husband being out of touch with the middle class is really very funny. I realize she’s more concerned with her clothes and hairdo than her husband’s rhetoric. The McCains represent what is wrong with the Republican Party, complete indifference for the every day working-class guy, hence tax cuts for the wealthy and for corporate America. For Pete’s sake, he believes the economy is doing well, I’m beginning to think his brain cells are rapidly degrading, is he in shape to lead the country??

It is Cindy McCaine and other corporate elitists like her that gave us the last eight years.
Now she expects us to care if her little POW gets a punch or two below the belt?
I looked into her eyes and I saw the devil.

“Cindy McCain would have a right to be angry if she had done anything except inherit her wealth.” says jackpine savage.  See this is exactly the kind of shallowness we see everyday in comment sections across the spectrum.  What is it you’ve done jackpine savage?  You don’t know what she may have been through in her life and nor do I.  Such shallow thinking and statements.  In addition, was it not heroic enough to be imprisoned for 5 years period?  Go back to your video games.

•  “..Typical Re-thug-lican attitude:
We can say ANYTHING, true or false about Democrats, but when they play hardball in return it’s “unfair”…”

Couldn’t have said it better ITW. And it *IS* so damn TYPICAL. The dish it out people who can never take it back.

They disgust me.

Who cares if she’s “offended”??

I’m a whole lot more than ‘offended’. I’m ready to kick somebody’s ass!

“UPDATE: The Obama campaign is not backing down. “The fact that John McCain does not know how many houses he owns when millions are struggling to stay in the only house they have shows he’s out of touch with the lives of real Americans,” said Obama spokeswoman Linda Douglass Saturday afternoon. “McCain is promising to double down on the economic policies of George W. Bush which have benefited corporations and CEO’s while leaving middle-class families behind. John McCain just doesn’t get it.”” —Obama on abc news

No, Virginia, Grampers just doesn’t give a damn. McCain and the botoxed beer baroness couldn’t possibly care less. They have their wealth and multiple homes. So, to hell with the rest of suffering Amerika. Those two jokers feel we should eat whatever cake we can find, if we can’t get bread. Gramps needs to check that laisez-faire attitude. That attitude did not bode well with the angry mob for the last of the French Monarchy.

Why doesn’t that tax evading, recipe pirating, pill-popping, charity funds misappropriating, husband stealing, spackled faced, Chlorox blonde homewrecker tell the gospel truth about what twisted the ruffles on her bloomers into a thousand knots? It wasn’t the ever so vulgar mention of their many homes, taxes for at least one of which Cindy’s been evading for years. It’s not even Obama’s spot-on criticism of a miserable, doddering, befuddled competitor who is on the journalistic record for his caustic criticism of Cindy’s trowelling on make-up like a common whore, to be kinder to her than Gramps was that dreadful afternoon. No, Cindikins is just pissed her deviant old flyboy has here again engaged in an ultra-superficial game of tail-hook, where the geezer puffs up his deflated ego, trading in his old tart for a newer, less familiar piece of behind with a lot fewer miles rolled over on its cerebral odometer. This phony deceitful harlot, who stole the old Naval Airedale she’s now keeping as a pet in her many homes, is worried the unfaithful dog is sniffing the butt of this little known Alaskan nanny goat! Just tell the truth! After all, the greatest damage to the McCain Campaign to come from Senator Obama’s speech is its driving Gramps to select the one-time Miss Wasilla to be his anti-Hillary running-mate in a race wherein Hillary isn’t even running.

Ol’ Cinders needs to be smacking that lascivious old knucklehead upside his wrinkled, white haired cranium, instead of whining to the world that Obama is telling the truth about the McCain housing situation. Then she needs to PUBLICLY confront that conniving, authority-abusing, wildlife murdering, environmentally UNfriendly, big oil-breathed gubernatoral tramp about the permissable campaign proximity to Gramps she will personally deem acceptable from now to November. Clarify that violating those boundaries by as little as one nanometer will result in the global broadcast of Ol’ Cinders demonstrating what real global warming is when she lays a heated Arizona beat-down on what’s left of that bony, bespectacled, 44-year old Alaskan frozen tundra! This way, Amerika can get a primo catfight on pay-per-view, or, at very least, marketed in a series of Hi-Def DVDs as “Old GOP Hags Gone Wild!” It would be an excellent fundraiser for Grampers’ dying campaign, especilly now when his coffers are drying up more every minute. And, bonus points with this venture, Gramps can legitmately claim to have stimulated the failing Bush43 economy. I can see it all now - A Former Miss Alaska Contestant Versus A 2008 Miss Buffalo Chip Contestant! The winner can face off against Phyllis Schafley at some huge NRA-sponsored red-state spectacle sure to drag in hordes of willfully ignorant right-winged twits still voting for God, Guns, and Oil against gays, abortion, and their own best interests. Let the catfight begin! Whoop that trick, girl! God Bless America! USA! USA! USA!

As Joe Biden said about Guiliani’s speeches “A noun, a verb and 9-11” so you can say about John McCain’s quals: A noun, a verb and “I was a POW”.

Stephanopoulos needs to be tarred and feathered for his behavior during the primaries, and the DNC must avoid a debate sponsored by ABC. Mrs. McCain is a nice woman, but has no business being offended by the truth. Mr. McCain is a shell of what he once was, no longer any morals or principles other than the platitudes that Rovian politics demands.

And we are supposed to care what she says for what reason, exactly?

JM said it himself: The middle class is those who make under $5 mil a year. The Obamas are worth 4-ish mil a year now, so Barry and Michelle *are* (by McCain insightful analysis) middle class. The McC household is reputed to be worth around $7 mil, ergo I guess they are “rich.”

But, there is that question of mine: Why to care? The McCains as a pair are a self-parodying dynamo. So much so that comments here (yes: including mine) are a bit like taking one too many carry-ons aboard the jets we can no longer afford to fly, even though “the economy is basically sound and strong” (or, at least, thus spake the “in-touch” Mr. McCain).

Of course, the real answer is that whether her feelings are scuffed by [the truth being spoken] is of value to the vast majority of MSM, who are desperate for vacuous controversies on which to focus. You know, like the desperate attempt for O to win over the hard-core and alienated Clinton followers that dominated the MSM during the Dem convention week. That alienated mass that Chuck Todd accidentally let-slip represented 1 out of 10 former Clinton loyalists. You know, meaning *at most* about 180,000 people out of the total 32,000,000 voters through the Dem primary?

What matters is that there is some theoretical Obama negative on which to focus.

Cindy McCain would have a right to be angry if she had done anything except inherit her wealth.  Obama wasn’t attacking her father for his attempt at the American Dream.  He was attacking John McCain for marrying into inherited wealth…and being clueless because of it.

And as for his time in Hanoi, we don’t really know what actually happened because his records are sealed.  It seems that if they displayed heroism then he’d be waving them around nonstop.

We can be sure that V.V. Putin has the full transcripts of his interrogations and POW situation, as KGB would have been directly involved in the interrogation of an Admiral’s son. (It was a Soviet doctor who fixed his arms, after all…i’d call that special treatment.)  What did he give to get at least that much special treatment?

We do know that the bombing run he used was canceled the year after his imprisonment after aircraft fatalities went up 60%.  It seems the NVA got pretty good information on turning points, approach altitudes, etc.

“Could I just mention to you, Jay, that, at a moment of seriousness,” McCain said, “I spent five-and-a-half years in a prison cell. I didn’t have a house. I didn’t have a kitchen table. I didn’t have a table. I didn’t have a chair. And I didn’t spend those five-and-a-half years because, not because I wanted to get a house when I got out.
so, what he is telling us “for 5 and a Half years i didn’t have a pot to piss in,nor a window to throw it out of. now he has compensated, by having a house for each of those years. plenty of windows to throw out the piss. and did mention i was a prisoner of war and a piss poor pilot.

This from a women that has inherited her wealth and is set to gain even more when EnBev buy’s out Anheuser Bush for 50 Billion.  Please!  Looks like Cindy “pigtails” McCain only finds it unfair when the other side throws a punch.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall at the ranch over Johnny boys pick for VP.  Oh wait a minute wasn’t it one of Cindy’s people that suggested this and then by order of little “pigtails” went and picked up the new McCain “babe”?  Or maybe this is an old Seventies wife swap, swingers party, that only the very out of touch, living in the Vietnam and Cold War era, Viagra popping (and insurance pays for, but not birth control) folks get to have.

So, sunshine, get in the game before you actually cry foul.  It takes more than Botox and a boob job to qualify.

Thanks for the shot.

I like Cindy Mc Cain, but she acts more like Mr. Mc Cains little girl than his wife.

Tagging along everywhere he goes, dependent on him for the lime light, like a victim of neglect, who obsesses about getting a sun tan.

She seems o.k, and I’m sure we can depend on her to call it like she sees it.. As a perfect reverse barometer of how the Dem’s are doing.

So she is offended! Who the hell cares about that? McCain and she have said much worse about Obama, including most of which are lies or exaggerations. McCain has shown more than a few times that he is out of touch with mid-stream America. Like the old saying goes: if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

Typical Re-thug-lican attitude:
We can say ANYTHING, true or false about Democrats, but when they play hardball in return it’s “unfair”.

Boo-f’ing-hoo.  Obama didn’t lie about McCain—he made a point that a man who doesn’t know how many houses he has is probably out of touch with most Americans who own 1 or less—and are in danger of losing that.

Yet where was Cindy when they were putting an Islamic turban around Obama’s head in characatures, calling him and Michelle “elitist”?  Was she saying THAT was unfair? Of course not!

This is politics and YOUR party, lady, has set the standard for lies, fabrications, dirty jokes in the belief that winning isn’t everything, it’s the ONLY thing.

Whether you like it or not you are in a Presidential campaign, against a party that has been repeatedly bloodied by low blows and dirty tricks and finally, NOW after all these years is willing to street-fight back.

For too long the GOP has been street-fighting but convincing the press (and Dems) that Dems must stick to Marquis of Queensbury rules.  No More! Our democracy totters on the brink of descent into fascism, near disaster but still can be rescued.

So if Cindy McCain’s feelings are hurt in the battle to save America from fascism, so be it.  She’s on the wrong side.
