Rwanda Says France Participated in GenocidePosted on Aug 5, 2008After two years of investigation, a Rwandan commission has accused France of facilitating the 1994 genocide by training Hutu militias and providing support to the Hutu government. The commission also says French forces murdered and raped Tutsis and moderate Hutus. The French government has consistently denied involvement in the genocide, in which 800,000 people were killed, but said it would look at the new report.

Thanks for the link cyrena. I know better than to trust the BBC and I forgot to put on my hat of “Beware: Coporate Media Zone” before reading the article. So the government in power today invade Rwanda lead by Kagame and killed the president, took power, and then killed thousands of people. Now that government lead by Kagame is constantly pushing propaganda to deflect blame and hide the truth. They did it with a little help from their friends. I took some quotes from that site.
“According to Atwood, unknown to the State Department, “the Pentagon had been supporting Kagame since before the 1990 invasion, when he was the head of Military Intelligence for the Museveni government of Uganda.” The “Gersony Report” tied the Pentagon to the crimes of Kagame’s invading, Pentagon-trained and funded forces...The Clinton Administration sought to enlist Atwood and Kofi Annan in keeping evidence of Kagame’s crimes from ever seeing the light of day, to prevent Pentagon involvement in the “Rwandan Genocide” from ever coming to light”
LIKE USUAL ITS ABOUT GREED AND POWER:
“Rwanda continues to pull the purse strings in eastern Congo and strangle all hope for truth, liberty, justice and life for millions of Congolese people. Congos gold, coltan, niobium, oil and diamonds continue to pass through Rwanda and Uganda in transit to international markets.”
“By depopulating Rwanda, rich land was opened up for new multinational corporate exploitation and the war brought about new ownership and means of control. Excluding the profits from the extractive industries in Rwanda and Congo, Rwandas top money makers are tea, coffee and gorilla tourism.”
“In the past six to eight years USAID has invested over US$ 10 million in the coffee sector in Rwanda, which was radically reconfiguredin terms of plantations, landholders, and market dominancedue to the power shift that occurred between 1989, when world coffee prices crashed, and 2006, when USAID, the Kagame government and Starbucks...announced huge economic gains in the international coffee market.”
“Starbucks provided coffee expertise and training in Rwanda, and their superior specialty award-winning Rwandan coffee was highlighted in 5,000 Starbucks coffee outlets during March and April 2006.”

Western hypocrisy and French arrogance
look what France did The 500-page report alleged that France was aware of preparations for the genocide, contributed to planning the massacres and actively took part in the killing.
It named former French prime minister Edouard Balladur, former foreign minister Alain Juppe and then-president Francois Mitterrand, who died in 1996, among 13 French politicians accused of playing a role in the massacres.
just few years ago
Rwanda and not forget Algeria
and France was so quick to point a finger to Turkey, and accuse them of genocide.
people who lives in glass houses should not cast a stone
France is the number one perpetrator of mass killings they just good in covering up just like they invented the perfume to cover up the stink they radiate

Humm, doesnt surprise me either sunnyside, and I was going to post these connected pieces on the other thread, since mrnb had referenced this there. (the Hedges piece) These provide some very detailed documentation on the other sponsors of that genocide, including yours truly of course. (Is there ever ANY evil that our leaders DONT seem to be involved in?)
Nope. So its not a surprise about France, (or any of the rest of them) Look how long it took Algeria to finally shake loose of them as the colonial power. And yes, it continues to this day, now under the term (at least coined by some academics) Neo-Colonialism. Thats definitely what Iraq is, and the thugs hadnt planned to stop there.

Nothing surprising here. Europeans committing large scale murder and rape of Africa? You kidding me? They started hundreds of years ago and never stopped. United States is one of those European powers currently stealing the wealth and killing the people of Africa. Look at Nigeria. They are stealing all the oil while almost all of the people starve and live in shanty towns. Third world countries? That’s because the colonial countries stole all their wealth and destroyed their society and it continues to this day! They got rich off the blood, sweat, and tears of the oppressed people of Asia, Africa,Middle East, and the Americas.
Report thisThis is just a continuation of colonialism in a different way,but it has not lost its brutality. You can be sure of that.
