Does Anyone Care About McCain’s Running Mate?

Campaigning chums: Back in March, shortly after McCain became known as the “presumptive Republican nominee,” he did a little touring with former rival Mitt Romney, whose name has come up in “veepstakes” speculation.

While it might be true that speculation about who’ll become John McCain’s (or Barack Obama’s) vice presidential pick is overblown at times, The Wall Street Journal’s Ken Khachigian might be overlooking certain realities of McCain’s particular case when he says: “Voters don’t select the main course based on the side dish.”

The Wall Street Journal:

That brings us to the most important aspect of the vetting process. If Mr. McCain’s selection is not complete as of this writing, here’s some advice for my good friend: Pick someone you know. You have spent 26 years in office. You have traveled with colleagues and political allies. You have spent long hours with them. You have campaigned with them, stayed up late in conversations, shared painful moments, heard their speeches, learned their thought processes, and measured their judgment.

I heard that Obama and McCain were still fighting over Leiberman for the position.

Mitt Romney would be a disaster for our Country.

McCain will die in office, and #2 will assume power.  The Romney (think “The Donald") is a businessman.  He understands business and making a profit, but he knows nothing about economics or the daily realities of the middle class.

Romney is a consummate opportunist who has shifted, equivocated and “flip-flopped” on every issue from abortion to immigration.  He’ll do anything to grab to power to control your life and mine.

This is not a trivial issue.  McCain’s #2 may well end up as our next President and Commander in Chief.

If Romney is chosen, he should be Jeremiah-Wrighted. After all, he belongs to an outlandish church that still believes that black people became black as punishment for the crime of Cain, the first murderer. In the early days, Mormons did not allow blacks into their priesthood, but their church president had a convenient “vision” telling him it was time to change that policy when it became politically inconvenient.

Although the policy of exclusion from the priesthood has been reversed, the underlying dogma--that black people are black because they are descendants of Cain--has not been reversed. (Although it’s easy for politicians to flip-flop, it’s tougher for churches to do so. What are they gonna say--that the “curse of Cain” was NOT being black? That all their previous “prophets” were dead wrong?)

Romney, to the best of my knowledge, has never been asked, point-blank, whether he believes black people are the descendants of Cain, and that dark skin is a curse from God. I think he needs to be asked that question. Do you think he might squirm?

Yeah. I want to see him pick a candidate that alienates the “Christian” Right so they stay home, but has NO appeal to the center, so they either stay home or vote for Obama.

Thus, I think his “leading” candidate, Mitt Romney, is the perfect choice.  The Right doesn’t trust him and the center sees him as a shifty right-winger they don’t want.  Other than his hair and money, Romney isn’t, well, isn’t George Romney.

I’m hoping Crist isn’t his choice--a popular Florida governor who’s somewhat centrist could help him.

cyrena, continuing the coup is inetivable, as the shadow players manage to roll one over every decade on average, with the MSM so thoroughly managed, the word never ever appears - since you’ve probably finished “911 Synthetic Terror” by now, you might, if you have not already done so, want to look either backward or forward respectively, to “George Bush, The Unauthorized Biography” - http://www.amazon.com/George-Bush-Webster-Griffin-Tarp ley/dp/0930852923/ref=pd_sim_b_3 or “Obama, the Post Modern Coup” - http://www.amazon.com/Obama-Postmodern-Making-Manchuri an-Candidate/dp/0930852885

Unless and until someone begins to investigate (and ensure) the integrity of the voting procedure, McCain may indeed be a part of our political future. Indeed, I am hoping to see Truthdig give this critical issue some space--and soon.

Who cares about McCain’s running mate? The same people who care about John! Both of them!

Whoever Old Flipper McCain selects as a running mate will be as forgetful as John. So, let’s have more laughs - maybe the announcement can be made at a German bratwurst haus or at a French cafe or from a passing Pierogi.

As long as they continue trying to catch up to Obama.

Best of luck, Flipper!

It really does not matter: he is going to loose anyway! The American people can easily see four more years of disaster when they see it!

That is should he actually get out of the convention with the nomination.  Got this feeling that a candidate meltdown of epic proportions is on the way.

~~~
Well webbe...you just might have something here. I’m perfectly OK with ‘feelings’ when they are so well backed-up by obvious stuff.
You could be right about him losing all 50 states too. My feelings are sort of running in the direction of him probably managing to survive the convention. But, I think the die-hard repugs, or the ones who simply will not vote for a black man, no matter what, will probably go for Barr.
Now that’s just loose gambler type analysis on my end. I haven’t bothered actually looking at any polls or anything like that, because the standard polls are showing him, (mcsame) just slightly behind Obama. (so THAT’S scary)
Thing is, I *do* know that there are a whole bunch of conservative republicans...long time conservative republicans and presumably party loyalists...specifically those within the government structure, who are appalled by the antics of Dick Bush.
This doesn’t come out on websites like this, and when it does, I notice it doesn’t get much attention here. For instance, there was an interview with Lawrence Wilkerson posted here, and next to nobody paid any attention. (He was chief of staff to Colin Powell).
But, he’s not the only one who’s been ragging on the Dick Bush team, because there are several other ‘high-ups’ that have done the same. All republicans. They’re smart enough to know that McCain is The Same.
But, the media doesn’t publish any of that. In fact, there’s been a major effort to shut Larry Wilkerson up! It’s called ‘Cease Wilkerson’ or something close.
Meantime, the MSM just keeps shoving McCain down everybody’s throat, and even going so far as to splice out major gaffes that he makes during interviews and the like.
Pretty disgusting, eh?
Is McCain in the running.  The first president i ever got to vote for lost 49 states.  McCain is likely to lose all 50.
That is should he actually get out of the convention with the nomination.  Got this feeling that a candidate meltdown of epic proportions is on the way.
McCain looked so presidential at the German restaurant eating sausage & cream puffs while Obama wowed ‘em in Berlin.  Good thing he picked a busy restaurant because it’s the only way he can draw a crowd.
The title is, Does Anyone Care About McCain’s Running Mate.
The answer is, Maybe some die-hard repugs do, but I don’t know why anybody else would.
Why would we care about his running mate when we don’t care about HIM? All we wanna be sure of is that he DOESN’T become president to continue the coup.
