Obama the Peacemaker

Before leaving Jordan for neighboring Israel, Barack Obama promised to pursue peace between Israelis and Palestinians “starting from the minute I’m sworn into office,” and to “be concerned and recognize the legitimate difficulties that the Palestinian people are experiencing right now.” His deference to impartiality comes a month after the candidate seemed to cede the city of Jerusalem, whether accidentally or not, to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

AP via Google:

In a news conference here before departing for Israel, he said any U.S. involvement in peace talks must recognize not only Israel’s security concerns but also the economic hardships facing Palestinians.

He said he would continue to regard Israel as a valued ally. “That policy is not going to change,” he said.

“What I think can change is the ability of the United States government and a United States president to be actively engaged with the peace process and to be concerned and recognize the legitimate difficulties that the Palestinian people are experiencing right now.”

To Howard: You mentioned from your history knowledge that Israel is occupying Palestine lands after 1948. Israel is no more within 1948 division that it agreed. So Israel is an UN criminal.
---------------------------------------------------
robin,

Quite right. Israel never had any intentions of staying within the U.N. partition. Ben Gurion and every Israeli leader since has had the intention of annexing all of Palestine from the river to the sea. Howard knows this perfectly well.

For far too long we have unconditionally sided with the Isrealis in every dispute. We should not continue to define our foreign Policy by th estandards or desires of ANY other Country.
what has become apparent is that there is undue influence with in Our gov’t. First and Foremost we must demand that NO Public Servant have any other Citizenship than American. they must revoke such conflicts of interest to hold public Office! Far too many ,esp in this Admin & congress are currently holding duel Citizenships in both the US and Isreal. This is an outrage! How can we KNOW those who pledge to Protect and Defend Our constitution are doing so legitimately if they are also foreign nationals??Would this be acceptable if they held an additional citizenship from Iran, S. Korea,Syria, Russsia- NO!So such priviledge should not be extended nor ignored just because it is an Isreali Citizenship.
Also it should be noted that a Group called JStreet has been campaigning to expose Not only Liebermans bias, but also his affiliation with Hagee, who only ‘loves’ isreal as a means to his Armeggedon Plan.J Street has been bring forth the reality that those who claim to support Isreal in the ‘christian’ community feel that Isreal is th ekey to th e2nd coming and The ‘Rapture’ which will ‘save’ only those CHRITIANS who have followed this Sociopath Hagee. J Street has demanded Lieberman end this association, but has refused, appearing with him just yeterday. So one must wonder about those who Proclaim allegience to Isreal and their real motivation and intentions for it’s future!

The neocons, loyal to Israel, now control the Admin, and the Congress is under the thumb of AIPAC. Israel’s wishes will be obeyed. Benny Morris even suggests Israel threaten/
blackmail us by saying they will use their atomic weapons to destroy Iran.  Read the entire article in the NYT Friday. World war three would possibly be the result.

I RECEIVED THIS, AND NOW I AM MORE CONFUSED THAN I WAS BEFORE ....
LET ME SEE IF I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT:

HIS FATHER WAS A KENYAN, MUSLIM, BLACK - WE HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF HIS ‘AFRICAN FAMILY’

HIS MOTHER IS A KANSAN, ATHEIST, WHITE - WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF HIS KANSAN, WHITE MOTHER AND HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS WHO RAISED HIM?

HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER AND HIM WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND WENT BACK TO HIS FAMILY (WHOSE FAMILY ?) IN KENYA ?

HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND TOOK HIM TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS SCHOOLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL .

HIS MOTHER RETURNED TO HAWAII AND HE WAS RAISED BY HIS WHITE KANSAN GRANDPARENTS?  WHEN ?

HE LATER WENT TO THE BEST “HIGH DOLLAR SCHOOLS”, HOW?

HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE THAT HE ACQUIRED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUND RAISER.... HOW?

HE ‘WORKED’ AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO - HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB.

THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POST, NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES. IN FACT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ASSUMES THAT THE RECEIPENT IS INFERIOR, LESS QUALIFIED OR NOT SMART ENOUGH TO COMPETE .

HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL, WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE. AND FOR THE LAST 18 MONTHS HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT RATHERING WORKING DILIGENTLY IN THE US SENATE.

HE IS PROUD OF HIS ‘AFRICAN HERITAGE’ BUT IT SEEMS THAT HIS ONLY AFRICAN CONNECTION WAS THAT HIS AFRICAN FATHER GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER.

I DIDN’T KNOW THAT SPERM CARRIED A ‘CULTURAL’ GENE.

WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS WHITE CULTURE?

HE GOES TO A ‘AFROCENTRIC’ CHURCH THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD’S PERCEIVED FAULTS AND THEN REPEATEDLY COVERS UP FOR THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH.

HE CLAIMS THAT HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN ,

YEAH, RIGHT!!!

YEAH, I THINK I SEE HOW HE COULD BE A ‘UNITER’ AND BRING US TOGETHER, I THINK THE HOPE IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER UNTIL AFTER THE ‘ELECTION’ .  OH AS FOR CHANGE , WHEN HE GETS ELECTED HIS PROGRAMS FOR CHANGE WILL LEAVE US WITH NOTHING BUT SOME POCKET CHANGE.

LIKE I SAID AT THE START, ‘ I AM CONFUSED !!!!  ‘

HOW ABOUT YOU!!!.......  Don’t know about you guys, but I’m past confused and well into scared shiiteless.  I have no idea how any Democrat in Congress could back such a man.  How can half of our good citizens vote for him when considering our recent history.  I’m way past confused. America is asleep at the wheel....

You see, we’re all so conditioned by our gov. and the media to believe that we are required to be involved in the “Mid-East Peace Process” that we can’t see that the US gov. or any of its agents have any business whatsoever butting their noses into the affairs of the MidEast.

BTW, think of that soundbyte: “The Middle East Peace Process.” So it’s the job of the rest of the world to continue and be involved in the 2,000 year-old Mid-East Peace Process?  Dr. Phil says, “The best predicter of future behaviour is past behaviour.”

One thing that Obama said while there was that, as CIC, “he had concerns other than the war in Iraq and that he was adhering to his 16-month ‘time horizon.’”

This said to me that, rhetorically at least, he wanted Americans to know that he, rhetorically at least, intended to take care of things at home.

Iraq, Iran, Isreal, Afghanistan, all of them, have done a marvelous job of manipulating Americans and their money into caring for, thinking about and working for them and their inability for a couple thousand years to live with one another in relative harmony.  It is not the job of the US or any other people to any longer facilitate harmonius co-existence in the ME, an obvious impossibility anyway.

It has been a gross derelict of duty and oath of our elected officials not to have developed a sound, workable energy policy that would make our continued, sickening concern for the Mid-East unnecessary.  We have absolutely no pride.

Obama understands this and we can only hope he’ll set us on the right track.  Forget McCain.  He doesn’t get it.

My whole life has been hijacked by Isreal, except for the first maybe 10 years.  Doesn’t any mortal have the power or courage to buck religious destiny?  It really doesn’t have to be this way.

If the US gov. is going to insist on being a player in MidEast politics and religion, then we might as well be annexed by Isreal and “be the spade that, by our foreign policy and actions, we’re calling ourselves.”

Tony Wicher writes: “It would sure be nice if Obama visited Gaza as well as Sderot to see how the people there are doing, wouldn’t it? ”

Couple of reasons for that.

Obama’s security could not be assured in Gaza, because the controlling element in gaza (Hamas) is itself a terrorist entity.

The Jews of Sderot are the victims of Gazan Arab genocidal rocket attacks on the general population. The Gazan Arabs are in danger from their own Gazan brothers (witness the Hamas-Fatah fratricidal battles, and the typical Hamas repression of Christians), and from IDF defensive operations against Hamas terrorists who are committing war crimes by hiding combatants amongst the civilian population.

The situations are not at all comparable.

Obama would be a fool to go to Gaza.

You read history.  Partition in 1948 was turned down by the Arabs.  Israel said ok even though they got the short end of the deal and they have prospered in the last 60 years.

Arab countries refused their mandated half of the contentious land appropriation at that time by the U.N.  They would rather have no country if it has to be next to Israel.

Has not changed in all those years. Arab countries are responsible to this day for putting pal’s in refugee camps. Arab countries offer no aid or help with all their oil monies and extensive land.

Israel doesn’t want to feed them and be responsible for them.  Let them federate with Jordan, which is about 70% Pal’s anyway.  And/or with Egypt who was responsible for Gaza and its people for decades before 1948 —as it belonged to Egypt.( Note, they refuse to take Gaza back or to help them improve their economy, etc.; no, just allow smuggling of weapons and armaments in the tunnels instead of food and consumer goods )

Sorry Mr. Obama! And no thanks for your condescending sympathy for the Palestinians!

The issue is not limited to “economic hardships facing Palestinians” as you claim. It’s about a homeland that was stolen from them. It’s about their self-determination, their freedom and the need to overthrow the yoke of oppression and terrorism practiced by marauders occupiers for over sixty years!

Go read a little bit of history!

What Can We Expect From A President Who’s A Peacemaker

“Said president is going to end the Iraq War, negotiate with Iran, support justice for the Palestinian people plus turning things around here at home.”

“And then what sort of world?”

“It’ll be up to us.”
