New Hampshire Takes Chavez Up on Free Oil Offer

Americans are undergoing an “attitude adjustment,” as the AP puts it, when it comes to oil, as evidenced by the current debate over lifting the ban on drilling off the U.S. coastlines. Another sign that drastic times call for what some might call drastic measures: New Hampshire residents will be keeping warm this winter with a little help from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, pictured.

AP via Breitbart.com:

Two years ago, New Hampshire refused to accept heating oil from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the pro-Castro U.S. critic who once called President Bush “the devil.” But with fuel prices rising, well, free oil is free oil.

With the state’s blessing, New Hampshire residents will be receiving some of the fuel this winter.

New Hampshire becomes the last state in the Northeast to embrace the offer.

“A lot of people have said, `We need help and we value any help we can get,’ ” said Amy Ignatius, director of New Hampshire’s office of energy and planning.

Village Elder,

Thanks so much for providing the link. (very niffy use of my very expensive software – allowing me to mark it up with comments as I read).

As it turns out, (which I guess I mentioned earlier) I WAS familiar with this bill, but not by it’s number. (my own brain seems to remember names/titles better than numbers, and I don’t always make the effort to connect them in my mind – saves that particular hard drive space, which is far more limited than this mechanical stuff).

So yes, this is yet another very frightening measure to add to all of the others of the past nearly 8 years. (remember that there had already been some re-coordinating in advance of 9/11, as to chain of command on whom was to respond to what, under specific circumstances). Moreover, it is all the more frightening because of the vague ambiguity, and the fact that despite all of the disclaimers about Civil/Constitutional Rights, Liberties, etc NOT being violated…its set up to do exactly that!!! In short, the language is such that it allows ‘law enforcement’ to ‘target’ anybody they want, for any reason they want.

This is not different from the MCA (Military Commissions Act) or any dozens of others that we could talk about, including the ‘illegal enemy combatant’ category that was created, (never before in the language of the law) after (but really probably before) 9/11, which has NOT been overturned, and can be used on US citizens.

Anyway, I’ve read the language (carefully) a few times now, which has put me on a bit of a ‘roll’ so to speak, since it sparked some thoughts related to another on-going project. And, since my ‘momentum’ cannot be as easily summoned up as it used to be, I’m going to take advantage now, while the stuff is ‘connecting’ between my brain and my fingers. Then, I’ll look forward to getting back with you all, to get an idea of what you think.

Meantime,

Mike, I have no idea of the purpose for your existence on this forum, (or anywhere else in the world for that matter) but this is such a totally lame and personally directed provocation, that it really isn’t even worth a response. When in the hell have I *EVER* claimed that ‘the government was playing fair?!!”

You need an update on your troll training. Tell the folks at the center, that you need a different target. Or, check with whomever did your lobotomy and tell ‘em you want a refund.

Jesus Christ and Mohammed too!!

Talk about homegrown terrorists. That would be YOU mike! Sounds like your training as a subversive and an agitator just isn’t going well at all.

And now I’ve got work to do.

Hugo Chavez. What a good neighbor. Giving to a people in need. I wish there were more like him.

This is another example of the generous nature of a man who has brought education, medical treatment, housing, and the next step above hope to the poor in his own country.

Part 1 of 2 re: By nrobi, #170252

Nrobi:

I definitely get your mood here:

•  “…As everyone knows, I am pessimistic about the future in this country.
I have repeatedly stated that in my opinion, there will be no election or handover of power according to the Constitution in this next election cycle. No one has yet to prove me wrong on the bill HR 1955, and the list of bills that are entrenching the power of the neo-con cabal, are increasing by the day…”

There’s no doubt, (at least in my concurring opinion) that your pessimism *is* warranted. It’s more than just the list of bills, but all of the restructuring that has been manipulated since day one. Specifically, the creation of a shadow government by creating and duplicating agencies. The Department of Homeland Security???? That was the beginning of the end. (if it didn’t begin before, like with The Coup of 2000)

So, I don’t think anyone CAN ‘prove you wrong’ although I’m not familiar even myself, with that specific bill. (I’ll check it out in a little while, just for my own curiosity). Still, there are literally dozens and dozens of other changes that have created what is very close to a Totalitarian take-over, or the completion of such would be more accurate.

The problem of course (at least a huge part of it) is that there is still only a minority of Americans who even realize this is happening, or HOW. Just as I am not familiar with the specifics of HR1955, (at least by the number) most Americans aren’t familiar with ANY of it. It’s not because ALL Americans are stupid, (though that’s certainly the case with a significant proportion) but this is intentionally a secret operation, and so one would first need an idea of how it was occurring, to even begin to look for the information to connect the dots. There are a handful of activists/authors/scholars/etc, who are trying to put this information out there. But, it only goes so far, and can only reach so many. Americans, (as a collective) certainly ‘sense’ these major changes, but individually, not enough of us have figured out the hows or the whys or the ultimate consequences. As noted by Lawrence Wexler in his excellent book, “A Miracle, A Universe”, it is most often OPEN and democratic societies that can be, and are most easily highjacked by dictatorial, fascist, totalitarian regime takeovers. I could cite numerous examples such as Nazi Germany, or Pinochet’s Chile, or Uruguay, or Peru, or Brazil, or even Iran, before Mossadegh was overthrown. And that’s just a short list.

Needless-to-say, that too, is very intentional. It’s definitely a huge grievance for many here on this forum, (like Samosamo) in this whole Fascist operation to keep the masses totally in the dark. That’s what has been occurring for nearly a decade now. The majority go about their business, (or try to) and see the rapid decline as a ‘recession’ or a ‘depression’, since even I’ve fallen into that trap of thinking that the destroyed economy is a result of incredibly mismanaged follies on the part of the Cabal.

BUT, that is NOT the case. This has been a well-planned CRIMINAL OPERATION from the git-go. These thugs have put together a Kleptocracy that dwarfs anything that has come before it, anywhere else in the history of the world. (and the world has seen its share of Kleptocrats) The Fascist structure was put in place to facilitate that Great Heist. Maybe the only real question at this point, is how much more there is to steal?

Part 2 of 2 re: nrobi, #170252

That should probably be considered in terms of what to expect as far as a Constitutional transfer of power is concerned. In my opinion, we’ve been under a form of martial law for over 7 years, since the creation of the ‘war of terror’, because of course ‘national security’ is nearly ALWAYS the ostensibly created excuse used by any Fascist or Totalitarian operation, to make it happen. It’s the most frequently used tactic for dismantling the rule of law, to create what is a State of Exception.

And, that’s what martial law is, just another term for a State of Exception. In other nations it’s referred to by other terms, but the bottom line is that it is a State of Exception, which becomes the norm when the operation is complete.

I don’t honestly know if this ‘transfer of power’ will occur. I agree that it may in fact NOT. I’m also not sure that this can be defined as a Totalitarian operation as different from a Fascist operation, because there are some nuanced differences. Both the Hitler and Stalin operations were Totalitarian, and I see similarities, but I still need help working that through. What I do know is that Totalitarian regimes rarely (if ever) prepare for ‘successors’. In other words, when it’s over, it’s over, because it’s been held up only so far as the ideology can be perpetrated, (by the creators of it) and the ideology doesn’t stand on substance. Nazism could not have continued as the global operation that it was planned. Same with the properties of Stalin’s version of Communism.

So, I don’t know what to think about what we can or should expect at the culmination of the election process. I believe that the election itself will in fact take place, but whether or not the transfer of power happens is still a very frightening question. There is much to ponder here, and I think more of us should. The problem is that there are multiple ‘conspiracy’ theories abounding, and so the confusion only makes it worse. That too, is intentional. It’s the only way to maintain the chaos and instability. Any operation like this REQUIRES instability. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to pull it off, or keep it going.

Awe ... the name game.

Always fun, especially when the vast majority of those who play haven’t a clue what the names mean.

Liberal: A really dirty word which means, uh ... not Conservative.

Conservative: A really dirty word which means, hmm ... not Liberal.

Republican: Not Democrat, committed to the service of Capitalism.

Democrat: Not Republican, committed to the service of Capitalism.

Socialism: A political movement that puts society first. Now that is really dirty!

Fascism: The marriage of corporate/military/industrial/political power. No, that cant be right, that’s what Capitalism means.

OK, not getting anywhere here. How about we define names by country -

Venezuela: Federal Republic

China: Capitalist Socialist Republic

Russia: Capitalist Socialist Republic

Israel: Theocratic Capitalism [depending on who’s Prime Minister]

Saudi Arabia: Theocratic Monarchy

Great Briton: Socialist Constitutional Monarchy

Germany: Socialist Constitutional Democracy

Japan: Capitalist Constitutional Monarchy

OK, this isn’t getting us anywhere either. Names are just that. Names. It’s the hidden meaning behind them that counts. And since most don’t understand the names, let alone the meaning behind, it’s easy to get people to follow the leader. Even get them to lay down while a collar and leash are put on them.

Like here in the United States. Horror for the past eight years has clearly happened under the leadership of the Conservative Republicans, so naturally the collared and leashed will blame it on the Liberal Democrats. Proving once and for all. Names don’t mean squat, if you don’t understand meaning. [or what’s going on for that matter]

However, cause and effect mean a whole lot.

But since so many don’t understand the convoluted reality of cause and effect, no point in going on with the name game. Except to say:

Currently the United States is a Theocratic Capitalist/Military/Industrial World Empire. And I want my Secular Constitutional Democratic Republic back!

[And ... Left is never Right, but Right is almost always wrong ... smile]

It’s an interesting contrast. When US wants to punish a ‘dictator’ it imposes sanctions on that country in the hopes that the people of that country will be forced to rise up against the tyranny. By that logic Chavez should be boycotting US not giving its people free oil. 2 years ago the free oil was refused because Chavez was a ‘bad man’. Maybe the people are waking up to the lies of our media and politicians at last.

I love the name calling.

D.C. is under the jackboot of the GOP? Really?  Who controls the House and Senate?  Remember those Dems and their plans to change the world?  Those Dems who have even a lower approval rating than the President.  I can understand your frustration, afterall, I’m sure you voted for these “world changers”.

You see, if the government functions properly (i.e. each branch fills its role under the Constitution), it is nearly impossible for anyone to be under the jackboot of another.  You people are mad at the wrong group.  It is the nature of government to seek power, and it is the nature of each branch of government to try to grow its own power.  The founders knew this and expected it; the current Executive is doing exactly what the Founders thought he would do, and exactly what they hedged against with checks and balances.  You should be much more upset with the Congress than the President because, while they are allowing the President (and the Courts) to exercise all of their checks and balances, the Congress has rolled over and is playing dead.  If the people of this country exuded as much hatred and vitriol toward the Congress as they do toward the President, they might actually see some change.

As for Chavez, the comment, “His policies are geared towards helping the poor” is hillarious.  Do you really think that?  That’s why he has shut down free speech?  That’s why he ignored the Constitution of the people?  Chavez is Lenin reborn.  He is following Marx to the letter.  Some of you think that is great, but it won’t work - it never has.  And before you start arguing with me, just give me one example where Marxism/socialism has worked.  Just one.

Well not exactly, but in the interest of fairness, Pres. Hugo Chavez has so much more on the cabal of neo=-cons and the shrub and Darth Vader. At least he cares about the little people of the world and his own country.  His policies are geared towards helping the poor and disenfranchised get a start and protect their families from the uber-elite that have decided that those who do not fit into the club, cannot and will not survive. As everyone knows, I am pessimistic about the future in this country.
I have repeatedly stated that in my opinion, there will be no election or handover of power according to the Constitution in this next election cycle. No one has yet to prove me wrong on the bill HR 1955, and the list of bills that are entrenching the power of the neo-con cabal, are increasing by the day.
Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Democrat and proud of it, has introduced an article of impeachment that may stand the test of time and the House Leadership. It would be the step in the right direction in regaining the power of the people and the Constitutionally elected system of governance.
As of right now, we no longer have a snowball’s chance in hell of a truly representative government, because the decider, makes all the choices based the worst kind of cronyism and despotism. Nepotism also plays a large part in the quest for continued power. This is why the House leadership should go ahead with the article of impeachment and bring it to the Senate for trial. But I suppose that if this were to happen martial law would be declared and the Senate and House disbanded and sole power would rest with the president for life, Darth Vader and Carl Rove.

Really put the egg on w’s face and that is dangerous, because w just doesn’t like being outdone and made to look the fool, HE LIKES TO RETALIATE IN VERY NASTY WAYS. Just ask that Hatfield boy that wrote a bio on w titled ‘Fortunate Son’ I believe, someone correct if I am wrong or if you can dig ole Hatfield up, ask him. Even old chavez would be hard pressed to be worse than w running this country but I would think if anybody could find a way chavez would find a way to make it worse. But that’s poopoo ‘what iffing’ and best left to disney land.

But I can’t help but think about how w & dick will counter this act of ‘aiding and abetting’ an enemy of the US. First of all no oil, which will be appropriately confiscated and turned over to the proper uh, handlers, yeah, that’s it like haliburton. Then w can weigh in with the round up of traitorous citizens which will be herded off to blackwater retreats near and far for proper handling. Then New Hampsire will be confiscated and turned over to the proper handler maybe saudi arabia, who would be able to build their own state sized embassy just like US’s Iraqi embassy. Then the big prize, because of this traitorous act, it will be deemed that the elections will not be held in November and that w & dick for, reasons of national security and under the directive signed a couple of years ago, by said w, that they will have to proceed with the total control of the US, Congress and the military(well it is not quite clear if the military with its izraeli neocon’s in positions of authority will not really be calling the shots)and the supreme court, ah, all courts, what the heck. Also seized will be the treasurey, the mint and the social security fund for proper handling by the appropriate eli.. oops sorry, appropriate authorities to oversee the handling of such.
