For the second month in a row, the number of American and NATO troops killed in Afghanistan—45—was higher than in Iraq. In fact, the so-called forgotten war was deadlier last month than at any time since the United States invaded in 2001, according to an AP tally.

AP via the Los Angeles Times:

In Iraq, at least 31 international soldiers died in June: 29 U.S. troops and one each from the former Soviet republics of Georgia and Azerbaijan. There are 144,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, along with 4,000 from Britain and small contingents from several other nations.

The 40-nation international coalition is much broader in Afghanistan, where only about half of the 65,000 international troops are American.

U.S. Maj. Gen. Jeffrey J. Schloesser, the top commander of U.S. forces [in Afghanistan], said in June that militant attacks were becoming more complex—such as gunfire from multiple angles plus a roadside bomb. Insurgents are using more explosives, he said.

Wow! Does this mean that the msm will have to return to reporting on the wars again. Damn, just when I thought it was all over.
And I guess there goes that 10 year oil summit in Houston with the taliban again. Or will the bush klan hold it in maine this time, maybe at ground zero. Don’t forget to have the bin ladens attend again. Sponsored by the carlyle group.
Maybe jeb can get them some king size estates in florida for them to lounge around in for a few years until things cool down again.

So much for the hollow glories of evil Bush who seven years ago claimed to have defeated the Taliban and brought democracy to Afghanistan!

What a tragic comedy we have been witnessing since the disaster Shrub has been hurled upon us over seven years ago!

If the iraq war hadn’t been concocted Afghanistan would be in the process of rebuilding right now. It makes me spit.

In the 7th year of the 7-year famine, the great ancestor of the Afghanis said to his four sons, “Go west, go East, go North, go West, and beat the sh*t out of everybody some 20 thousand years ago. And, the Central Asians have done so like clockwork. Ask Spenser Wells ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spencer_Wells ), he will tell you how “Central Asia peopled the world.” Ask the Chinese, the Indians, the Czars, the Turks, you name it. Bet you a dollar you are carrying their genes.

They made short work of the British and the Russians not too long ago. Time for NATO to learn its lesson.

Irony is! Hussian of Iraq, never killed or declared war on America, but Bush and his fundamentalist gang never liked that because he was considered threat to Israel. On the contra, Musharaf and Co, trained , armed, financed Jihadist and still are, declared war on all infidels and biggest of them America, and Bush and his Gang embraced Pakistan leaders and its army with hugs, kisses and monies.Result more Americans are being killed in Afganistan, with no end in sight.Idiots like that, who needs friends, jihadist knows that and they are fully exploting it.

There slogan is, “Thanks heaven, we have Safe heaven, in Pakistan.”

The Soviet Union had several hundred thousand troops in Afghanistan, none of whom were interested in the Geneva or Hague Conventions. They also had shared borders with Afghanistan for ease of supply, communication and reinforcement and yet, in the end they had to get out. What made anybody in this government think we could do better?
