McCain and Lieberman
DoD / Cherie A. Thurlby

Conservative columnist Robert Novak has reported that John McCain wants to make Joe Lieberman his running mate, but knows that he can’t for political reasons. That hypothetical ticket, possibly the least charismatic ever, would at least afford Lieberman the opportunity to complete his journey to the dark side.

McCain already risks being seen as a battery-bunny-runs-all-the-time character. Linking himself too closely with a guy whose voice is best fitted for sad-sack characters on Saturday morning cartoons is dangerous.  Who could stand watching that pair for four years?

It is just possible that nobody noticed exactly how whacked out drugs had turned John Lennon until he started hanging with Yoko.

Joe Lieberman shouldn’t despair. If he isn’t McCain’s Veep he can always run for office in Israel.

Ahhhhh…..yes…Lieberman, also know as: The McCain Wisperer.

I shudder at the thought such a dark stewing cauldron of pillow-talk would manifest.
