Obama, McCain Court Women Voters

During the final stages of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, a common refrain emerged among some of her more ardent supporters: If Barack Obama wins the nomination, we’re backing John McCain. Now that the dust has settled somewhat after Clinton’s concession, Obama is working to clarify the differences between his positions and McCain’s when it comes to issues that impact the lives of female voters.


ABC News:

“On almost every single issue that’s important to women, he’s been on the wrong side,” the presumptive Democratic nominee told ABC News in an interview in Flint, Mich. Monday.

“You know, he is in favor of judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade. He has opposed equal pay. He has opposed the CHIP [Children’s Health Insurance] program, that would make children insured,” Obama said.

It is laughable to me that any woman would endorse McCain unless they like to be degraded.  Someone who has vilified Mrs. Clinton in crude sexual terms years ago, who was going to have a fundraiser with a man that joked that women should enjoy rape, does not believe in choice and called his wife a c*nt in public plus cheated on his first wife with this current trophy wife.  Perhaps he and the RNC thinks women are that dumb.  Just because the US voted Bush in for 2 terms doesn’t mean women are dumb enough to vote for this guy or at least, I hope not.
