Flipping the Wrong Guy

Posted on Jun 5, 2008
The Brad Blog

If you’re going to mess up someone’s vote, it’s probably a bad idea to do it to one of the nation’s more vocal critics of election shenanigans. After voting in California’s statewide primary on Tuesday, election integrity journalist Brad Friedman checked his ballot to discover that four of the 12 races he voted in had been flipped.

The Brad Blog:

Though I’ve covered so many of these stories, it was nonetheless remarkable to see it happen before ones very eyes, as occurred yesterday when I voted here in Los Angeles during our very low turnout California state Primary election.

The ES&S electronic voting system that I used to try to vote on yesterday, ended up flipping a total of 4 out of the 12 contests and initiatives for which I had attempted to vote.

Right before my very eyes, the computer-printed ballot produced by the voting system I was using, incorrectly filled in bubbles for four of the races I was voting in. Had I not been incredibly careful, after the ballot was printed out, to painstakingly compare what was printed to what I actually voted for, I’d have never known my votes were being given to candidates I did not vote for.

A strange epidemic appears to be plaguing GOP election judges. Literally hundreds of local party representatives, including Prosecuting Attorneys, Councilmen and women, and other local GOP officeholders have been suddenly disappearing. In many cases, no trace has been found. The list, including States’ Attorneys and Secretaries of State, is confounding in its remarkable adherence to party ties. Both local and international journalistic organizations are conducting independent investigations into the matter. Jim Fullmer, County Councilman , said: “It’s as if an epidemic was striking only GOP voting judges, like the plagues of Egypt. No one seems to be able to explain it.” There appears to be no single motive tying the unusual disappearances together. Democratic officeholders had no comment.

In other news, hogs brought to market this week gained an astonishing thirty per cent in average weight. “I can’t understand it,” says local hog farmer Frank Handy, “last week they were normal, but when I saw their rapid weight gain, I brought ‘em straight to the livestock barn.” Agriculture scientists attempting to investigate the matter say the hogs in question have already been butchered, ending the possibility of any assessment of the matter.

City Attorney to resign suddenly. City Attorney Harry Bills has announced his sudden resignation. His office said he “just wanted to take a long vacation”, avoiding the rigors of last years’ election season. Harry has served the GOP faithfully for nearly twenty years, since the first Bush electoral victory.

Democrats have had 8 years to fix this train wreck and haven’t done a thing about it - as if it were going to correct itself.  Also Millions of Blacks and other minorities will not be able to vote this year because of the picture ID requirement and the fact that republican secretaries of state are still removing the names of legal voters from the checklists based on phony presumption of criminal
history.  McCain wins.

Brad Friedman has done an excellent job covering the election fraud and mismanagement which has and continues to take place.  Thank you, Brad.

This is the heart of the matter.  To even entertain the notion that “the errors” in these machines can’t be corrected is complete and utter hogwash.  It would be the equivalent of typing a “H” on your keyboard and a “P” appearing on the screen.  How many computers do you think they’d sell if this were the case..?  This is no “error”.  It’s fraud.

To add insult to injury these are “special purpose terminals”, which simply means these terminals HAVE ONE PURPOSE were built and designed TO HANDLE ONE SPECIFIC JOB, and they expect us to believe it can’t or wasn’t built and designed correctly by ERROR!

This is the biggest LIE in the world.  All of us here are most likely sitting at our own PC which plays games(some of which are extremely complex), calculates our taxes, brings us the news, allows us to comment, search incredibly huge databases in SECONDS, upload photographs, draw and design complex systems (layering…CAD), retouch photographs, communicate across the WORLD in audio, video AND text and YET… we are being asked to swallow this ridiculous assertion that AN ELECTRONIC GADGET BUILT FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING “A” ON THE PANEL TO “A” ON THE BALLOT IS A “GLITCH”!

There aren’t words to convey the amount of delusion this fiction would require.

You all say and think what you like. But for me, I would never, ever believe my government would lie or cheat me. Bushie, Rummy, Chennie, Rovie and the rest of the good old boys, NO WAY. Besides, if they had, they would have been impeached/fired by now. So there!

I was Outraged and Complained the second I saw the BS ballot arrangement during the MI Primary.
I Immediately pointed out the inconsistency to the folks at the Poll- they too saw the problem.
there was an intentional attempt to ‘misread’ the votes. It took me a second to find Kucinich’s name- I automatically expected to be in Alphabetical Order- it was the First Listed- while the rest remained in Alph Order. So what did that SCAMtron expect the first name to be when it ‘read ’ my vote.
Funny the Republican Ballot was in Alph Order. When I wrote to SEc of State Land she tried to claim it was with in voting Regs. So I bitched again asking WHY were we forced to pay a Higher printing fee for these Various ballot arrangements. having worked with printers I know the fewer on the Run the more expensive the cost.Add to that the Fact that Each districts SCAMtrom must be uniquely Preprogrammed to read these various ballot formations and the question of cost and Legitimacy is compounded.
Hillary has the audacity to claim a Win in MI and dared to use this Rigged Process as a basis for her ‘popular vote’ agruement. Not only was neither Edwards or Obama on the Ballot the Media repeated the LIE regarding Her Being the ONLY Dem on the Ballot. So who do yo think , in this Bleed Union State with numerous metropolitan Cities di dnot bother to Vote on that Very Cold Jan Day? The voters of this State Were Surpressed by repeated comments about it not counting anyway and the Lie regarding Who was Really on the Ballot. had Edwards & obama been on the Ballot Hillary’s Campaign race would have ended with a clear LOSS in MI!OUR STATES PRIM WAS STOLEN!!!!
Now the Media has the Audacity to even Question which Way Michigan will vote in Nov. Please WE Bleed Blue- There is NO Question about how we will vote- Only about If it Will Be stolen.
If any of Our States ‘leaders’ want to remain in Office and NOt In prison for Election Fraud the had better state throwing Out those Rigged Machines and start printing ballots that must be hand counted and available for Review and Re counts if necessary. I am Out to ge trid of the Neo Cons in Blue who caused our States Primary to be a vehicle for Clintons BS campaign!@@$##$#$%!!!!!!!

It is astounding that nothing much has changed with regard to the electronic voting machines thruout the country. It is the unsaid ace-in-the-hole for the republican party. Has been for 8 years and I’m sure, being more firmly entrenched now, is still even more so what the republican party is counting on. How else can they expect McBush to win when he marches in lock step, attaching himself like a barnackle to a failed president with approval ratings in the 20’s ? Its obviously election fraud and a criminal conspiracy that apparently our congress hasn’t the interest to deal with. This is but one , but probably the most pronounced dismantling of our democracy by the GOP machine that should’ve been investigated with vigor after the 2000 election. Instead, it seems our politicians helped spread the electronic machines sold by companies whose CEO(s) are card carrying Rove followers. But dosen’t the fact that it is happening, thruout the country , making everything else with regard to our supposed democracy a moot point ? The electorial system is bad enough, but to pretend we the people have any say in who is elected is the biggest lie we are told by our goverment.

70% of people will vote for him, and somehow his vote totals will show 49% voting for him.  I’m not even calling this an overarching conspiracy, but honest if totaly preventable errors will lower his totals in some areas while actual intentional fraud and the famous voter list purges will lower it in other critical areas.

And I am not hearing Dem party officials talking about this so once again they will walk naively into a defeat that SHOUDL have been a victory.

Yep. It’s just happening right in front of our eyes, as life appears to go on in a normal fashion.

The media today falsely reports polls that indicate Obama is leading McCain by 6 points… completely ignoring Clinton’s huge numbers of supporters, as if they don’t exist.

McSame will never get more than 30% of the popular vote this year; the GOP has always been the minority in this country, contrary to popular belief.

Off topic, but current events in both parties have usually been the historical impetus for abolishing political parties and starting new ones.

So now you know that McCain will be the next President.
Bush won in 2000 and 2004 by cheating.
Bush won as govenor against an incumbant with a 60% approval rate.
Bush’s apron string follower to the Texas governorship just won reelection with a 30% approval rate.

How do they do it?  Now you know.
