Landmark China-Taiwan SummitPosted on May 28, 2008
In a historic summit, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Taiwanese ruling party chair Wu Poh-hsiung met on Wednesday in what was the highest-level encounter between the two countries in almost 60 years. The summit may mark the beginning of what Taiwan has called a new “chapter of peace,” as leaders discuss cross-strait transport and trade.

Hu’s got a kung-fu grip. The more I stare at it, the more I feel like I can hear the conversation. What’s that about the pre-socialist ruling class of China all being housed in Taiwan again? Uprising? Ouch my hand hurts. Help I’m being coerced!
