While I went thru ALL THAT and extra for range time and safety classes…only to have my home invaded and my gun taken along with the shells….Even so-I AM SORRY IT IS ON THE STREET….BUT I sincerely HOPE THEY ARE USING IT TO SHOOT EACH OTHER…..

Well now Hippy Pam…there are options. (I understand what you’re up against there in Flint) Seems like Michael Moore said he was able to get one of these handguns by opening a savings account in a bank in your area.

Yeah, I know that most of the youth there carry guns. It’s like that in other places as well, though maybe not quite as bad. Then again, I haven’t done any demographic studies lately.

Now, I know this stems way, way, back..and maybe it only ever applied in California. I’m from California, so that’s why I know of this old ancient policy regarding handguns.

Way back in ancient times here in California, (might even still be the case occassionally) if one wanted to obtain a handgun, (ah…by purchasing it from an established merchant) then one went through a bureaucratic process. (yeah, yeah, I know…who wants to bother with such inconveniences these days)

Anyway, it required appearing in person at the ‘place’ where one planned to purchase the thing, and then filling out some paperwork. The purchaser would then submit the paperwork, and pay for the gun, and obtain a receipt.

THEN, in SEVEN DAYS, the purchaser would return to the established merchant, and EITHER, get their gun, since the merchant had by that time, been able to run a background check, and all of that stuff. OR, get their money back, either because they hadn’t ‘passed’ the background check, or because in the seven days that had passed, they’d decided they didn’t want the gun after all. (like maybe they decided they wouldn’t shoot whomever it was they were so pissed off at when they decided to buy the gun in the first place.)

Now back in the day, this seemed like a real good plan. Actually, in my humble opinion, it STILL seems like a real good plan. Wonder what went wrong?

Not a bad promotion at all, kind of makes sense.  When driving that new car gets too expensive with soaring gas prices you can just shoot yourself.  American ingenuity!

Yep, to confirm Obama is to disprove him. Consider the alcoholic who counters: Your accusation I drink too much so upsets me, I need a drink ....

If not for the harm to innocent bystanders, I’d say people like the car dealers in Butler deserve whatever another Republican administration would do to them.

Aegrus, I had to chuckle at this. You are simply far too sensible. The gun makes ‘em FEEL GOOD. It means they’ve got ‘rights’. That’s all that matters when you ain’t got a damn thing else.

(It does make me wonder how they were able to afford the cars though).

The other thing to remember of course, is that these are the same folks who voted for George Bush. Now if they’d offered say free school tuition for a year, for every buyer, or a gun, or the gas, how many of them do you think would have chosen the free schooling?

Maybe one. Probably a skinny black kid. (they wouldn’t give him or her the gun anyway).

All of the rest…that’s who Hillary’s pandering to. She wants them to all be perfectly OK with the fact that they’re uneducated,and easily pacified with Guns.  She has a plan for them all…I’ve heard her pander to them specifically, in conjunction with calling Obama an elitist. Anything to stir up resentment, and once we’ve got that nice and seething, give ‘em some guns with their trucks…and just wait for the destruction.

Michael Moore mentioned this..it’s the same as giving somebody a bomb, knowing full well that they’re gonna throw it at someone or something. Oh well.

So, have gun, will travel…in the truck, or on foot…If ya got it anyway, might as well use it, eh? At least that’s the mentality.

And, they ARE handguns by the way. So, we’re not talking about food hunting instruments, unless one is a cannibal.

The dealership also offer directions for the perfect drive by shooting.This mindset of small penused men who must have a gun and hate gays is what gave us George W Bush.These divisive issues that the Republicans know how to play like virtuosos keep us divided and cuase us not to come together on issues that really do matter.We fight and they steal.Sounds like a perfect system if you are in the “they steal"class.

Curious that while Obama is reviled as an elitist, latte drinking liberal, the enterprising good folk out in the heartland have no problem with putting blasphemy (“God, Guns and Gas”... kyuk kyuk) on their advertising collateral to drum up sales.

If you lose your job (and your income), you can always use your gun to get gas.  It pays for itself.  That’s better than any liberal entitlement program!

The gun inflates the ego. It makes some people feel bigger and more powerful. It’s no accident that the car industry has been emphasizing the power of the vehicle instead of anything else!  Of course, it’s an identity thingy.

I had read about this before, and couldn’t believe more people opted for the gun rather than the free gasoline. How often do you use a gun in comparison to your pick-up?
