McCain’s Attention DeficitPosted on Apr 29, 2008
While the spotlight is starting to singe the Democrats, it’s true that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have gotten heaping doses of attention compared with the supposed media darling, John McCain. Here’s one indication: The covers of Time and Newsweek have featured the face of an Obama or a Clinton eight times since Super Tuesday. McCain’s mug showed up only twice in that time, and even then only on Newsweek in the two weeks after the Feb. 5 contests. Time has twice split the page to feature both Clinton and Obama, an effect Newsweek has avoided. Only one spouse, Michelle Obama, got a cover shot in the weeks since Super Tuesday. In that time, Barack Obama has had a solo cover three times, though he was shown once as a baby, once in his youth and once from behind. Hillary Clinton has had the cover to herself twice since Feb. 5. Obviously all three candidates have gotten plenty of ink for some time now, but scoring the cover of one of America’s top two newsweeklies is a pretty big deal in politics. The Time cover archive can be found here, and you can flip through old Newsweek issues here. Advertisement New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page. So what if standard MSM coverage is favoring Barack and Hillary?
Charmin just announced, that from today until November, they going to print McCain’s image on each of the 4.726 trillion perforated squares they plan to produce. This unprecedented coverage will put McCain right where he deserves to be during the entire election cycle.
No notice yet as to whether the DNC plans to protest this campaign.

McCain’s moments of attention deficit pales in comparison to Obama’s 20 year attention deficit ... regarding his lack of noticing that Jeremiah Wright, his pastor, advisor, mentor, colleague of Farrakan, was an anti-American racist.

It’s the voters attention deficit I’m worried about not who gets their picture on a magazine cover the most.
This is typical “attention” to page filler while the country’s important issues continue to be ignored.
Carry on truthdig.

The first thing any new President should do is get congress to break up the mega news media that has so brainwashed the public that we have seen too much tolerance of the criminal Republican Presidency and candidates.
While the news obsesses over Rev. Wright, less than nothing is said about the crack pot, Religous right that uses their inflated incomes to try and destroy the constitution of the United States. It is time to make churches pay their taxes along with stopping the corporate tax breaks that have given these nasty people the opportunity to buy off the type of news coverage that they get.
McCain has not been held up to the kind of abuse that Obama and even Hillary have had to deal with. He has been given a free pass on his hypocrisy, in the abandonment of his core values, all to become the candidate of a treasoneous political cult, called the Republican Party.
To think I once thought he would be in competion with Hillary for my vote. Of course, I still support Obama in the hope he can bring himself to do what the others won’t do, which is to stop corporate America from destroying the American People.
Obama for President, please.

I just saw that Time cover tonight of Barack as a child. I’d vote for that kid as President any day.
