China Factory Made ‘Free Tibet’ FlagsPosted on Apr 28, 2008
We ran a cartoon a few days ago that showed a Chinese factory churning out “free Tibet” gear. That imaginary image has since become real. The Chinese government has discovered a factory in Guangdong that mass-produced thousands of “free Tibet” flags, which Chinese authorities fear will soon end up on the streets of Hong Kong as the Olympic torch makes its way there.

I have a lot of good-will for Tibetan people, and that’s why I don’t want vast numbers of them to be killed in a war of independence, like the Biafrans, the Bosnians, etc. They are unlikely to win, and even if they do, they are still surrounded by a billion Chinese and a billion Indians.

By Jaded Prole, April 29: “Good article on Tibet with historical context…
Interesting link, Jaded Prole. Pity about Sam Jaffe’s pretence at being a “high lama”. So typical of that era, though, that the Asian roles in any Shangrila would have to be played by Westerners.
Not only must white be seen to be right but the obscene joke of Camp David originally being called Shangri-la and its connection with the “settler society” of invading European Jews called “Israel” belies the fact that the USA and the Tibetan “freedom fighters” would willingly turn the region into another Palestine or Kosovo.
But people prefer the fantasy to the reality that Tibet “...became a part of the Chinese empire when Mongol invaders established a dynasty… Dynasty, in the mid thirteenth century...” and the DL lorded it over all of China as Kubilai Khan’s pet plaything.
Also interesting that historical reasearch confirms confirms comments in the past that “Tibet was (once) one of the dirtiest countries in Asia”:-
Rather than a utopian society, Tibet was a brutal feudal society… far more repressive than Chinese feudalism and, even with the Buddhist clergy playing a more powerful role than the Catholic clergy and hierarchy in West European feudalism, certainly able to match the worst of West European feudalism....
In those days, the thing that Kubilai Khan would have wanted most was perceived black magic power and the rituals and mantras of the Tibetans with their form of Tantric Buddhism would have intrigued him. Ironically, though, it was the Tibetan lords and lamas who gained most through Mongol and then Chinese rule as it gave them influence throughout the empire.
Also ironic latterly that with the 1905’s occupation, “...as the Chinese began to enact anti-feudal reforms, the high Monks and the secular landlords in effect launched a campaign of resistance… they demanded… that the great estates be continued. Then, with direct CIA support… launched an armed struggle against the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army as it sought to both liberate serfs and recruit them for the liberation of Tibet. With China radicalized under the Great Leap Forward, the Tibetan feudal/slaveholder class declared for the first time ever an independent Tibet in 1959 and launched a military uprising in the capital of Lhasa...”
People in the West also seem to forget that it was not only Tibetans who “...suffered greatly from the failures of the Chinese revolution--from the economic failures of the Great Leap Forward and especially from the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution of the late 1960s...”. Ask many Chinese mainlanders who lived through that then and they will tell you it was equally difficult for them too - if they want to be bothered remembering the painful past similar to but worse than the USA’s 1930’s Depression.
But saddest of all are the white Westerners who have simply transferred their color and race fears and prejudices from blacks to Asians and, in this case the undeserving Chinese mainlander who is at least as good a person as anyone of European descent. Tibet was no Shangri-la but it has once again become a white persons’ dream world just as it did once in the 1950’s.
Now that really IS being deceived in an extensively successful psyops ploy by the CIA and NATO. And, going back to the Camp David/Shangrila comparison, the 1950’s was also an era of grandiose biblical movies which glorified the Jews as the “true Christians” that they never were and allowed the invading European Jewish “settlers” to usurp the history of the Semetic jews to their own advantage.
So, where are we today? Does that mean that Obama or HRC or yet another insane Republican president will use the ever-increasing US/NATO presence in Afghanistan to launch an attack on Tibet (on XinJiang) in order to attempt to break a piece off China just to maintain the global threat of US hegemony?

This IS sort of funny, in a very sadly ironic way.
BECAUSE...many of us are well aware of the fact that the AMERICAN FLAG has been manufactured in China for almost a decade.
Actually, it took me forever to find a single factory in the USA, that still manufactures the USA flag, and I finally found the one source, right here on Truthdig.
However, 99.3% of all American flags continue to be manufactured in China, and IMPORTED here to the US.

That is just hilarious. Who says that the Chinese are communists? This sounds like good old fashioned capitalism to me. Maybe if they sell us the rope, we can hang them with it!
Report thisAlso, regardless of how you feel about the Chinese, it must be acknowledged the Tibet is better off under them as opposed to the cult of the Dalai Lama.
Have a nice day.

Vicious Westerner pro-Tibet independence groups no doubt exploiting poor Chinese workers for flags at low cost to help ruin the Olympic games and to cause disruption in dozens of countries, uhh.
All Tibetan flags in future should be made to have a “warning label” in bold letters stating that they have been used in support of rock-throwing monks who incited bloody riots in Lhasa killing and injuring innocent Chinese citizens.
No doubt that next we will be seeing some disgusting Western propaganda that poor Chinese school children are being forced to manufacture FUWA dolls for the BeiJing Olympics......
Pupils of the Second Guangrong Primary School show the Beijing Olympic Mascots Fuwa made of paper and ropes in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2008-04/22/content_8 025808.htm
